Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

his morning I did a check to see if I could get VHX tv via internet on my television and it did not work. Tried that through the www on my blu ray and that did not work either. So still using the hdmi cable. I went for my arthritis appointment and was happy not to have to do blood work or the eye test thing. I got out of there earlier than expected so stopped at Sprouts and came home and attempted to do my workout. Internet went out in our area right in the middle of my weight work. Fortunately I have the Gentle Yoga from Amazon prime downloaded so I got that in with shoulders and core work.
I started with Coffeyfit Raw 5 day strength day 3 and did the shoulders and finished off the plank core work that I had started on my own when the internet went out. This was 23 minutes, 95 calories, heart rate average 122, max 158, 575 steps. I then did Jessica Smith Gentle Yoga neck and shoulders flow, 20 minutes, 96 calories, 11 steps. Total time 43 minutes, 191 calories, 586 steps. I am not sure why fitbit is giving me so many calories for yoga. It probably averages out for what I am not getting on strength.

This has Noelle and Kelly in it. I have done all but the shoulders on this one when it first came out.
Kelly mentions legs squats and weighted bridges and then starts in on shoulders. So, that confused me and I remember that from before because I was thinking I had to find the starting point for legs before. I

Shoulders
Kelly uses 12's and 15's Noelle 10's and 12's 5 sets of 10 reps
side lateral raises thumbs down to keep from working the traps Kelly used 12's
I used 12's for 4 sets and dropped to 10's the last set
Butterfly& press Kelly uses 15# 1 set and drops to 12#
I used 12's 1 set, 10's 2 sets, 8's 2 sets
Core
plank drive knee in hip drop both sides 1 set 10 reps, then just 1 side 10 reps for 4 sets alternating sides

The doctors was quick because they are going to do the vision testing on another day. That takes quite awhile. They said my bloodwork was up to date and I did not need that either. I was surprised, but then remember they did it when I went in with my shoulder and neck problems. Glad that is over for awhile. Next is next Friday when I go for the carotid ultrasound and go over results with the heart doctor. I think I have tomorrow free so I can workout and clean the house :)

Belinda, Barlates sounds like a good program for you right now.

Doreen, it seems like lately Kelly has been doing a few longer Ripped and Ride workouts. She does so well at coming up with new ideas.

Drop Set: Shoulder is done. I am surprised my upper body is sore. Tomorrow I will do the last upper body workout in this series. Drop Set lower is going to have to wait. I have an follow up appointment with my doctor next Tuesday. I don't think it's arthritis, maybe I pulled a muscle or ligament? I am sure he going to do an X-ray on Tuesday.

Diane - Drop sets is a winner! You can go as heavy/or light as you want. Good job yesterday.

I was going to do live PHA 2020 this morning but live would not load on my roku!! So I switched and did RAW strength Day 4 - Total body with Kelly and Sammy. They use weight plates for this one which I liked for some exercises (pull overs) and not for others (biceps).
 
Today I did Step Boss I Max 4, 44 minutes, heart rate average 130, max 150, 235 calories, 4,197 steps. I then did Coffey Fit Raw 5 day Strength day 3 legs that I missed yesterday due to the internet going out. This was 18 minutes, heart rate average 105, max 127, 51 calories, 217 steps. I finished off with Jessica Smith Gentle Yoga hips and knees, 22 minutes, heart rate average 107, max 133, 57 calories, 46 steps.
Total time was 84 minutes, calories 332, 4,460 steps. I have 11,000 steps today.

Belinda, do you see an arthritis specialist or just your primary doctor? I am sort of not liking going from one doctor to another. How is one supposed to keep track of what the other does anyway? I need to see an ophthalmologist, but have been trying to get past all of these other things first.

Doreen, I hope there is not a lot of shoulder stuff in Day 4 strength. My shoulder is hurting today. I know that workout is fairly short at 28 minutes. Sorry that CL was not working this morning for you.

Drop Set Triceps are done. I am done with all the Drop Sets upper body. I really like all the upper body. Can't wait to try all the lower once my knees feel better. Not sure what I will do next week for upper body? I still have some CL upper body only? I will review them this weekend and see if I can do them sitting down.

Diane - I see my primary doctor for arthritis. I know you must be frustrating with all those appointments.

This morning I did Coffeyfit Raw Day 4 Total Body, 33 minutes (28 actual), heart rate average 114, max 149, 114 calories, 711 steps. I also did Day 5 stretch, 36 minutes, 147 calories, 142 steps, heart rate average 118, max 140. I still wonder at the yoga and stretching with my versa watch. Total time was 69 minutes, 261 calories, 780 steps .

I kept changing some things. I felt like Sammy was really shrugging up her shoulders holding the weight plate to do the lunges. It looked like a struggle and I did not want my shoulders so much in play.

Belinda, I don't like seeing so many doctors and it takes so long to get results and they all want you to keep coming back. When I go for a physical I can only have a physical and have to go back to my Primary care doctor again if I want to address some particular thing, then I end up sent somewhere else. It just seems one doctor would be nice that took care of everything. I also feel like a lot of these specialists in these facilities have an interest in getting you to have tests and things all done in their facility to help them pay for it.

Diane - I hear you on not wanting to see so many doctors. I know its frustrating having to go to different doctors weekly. If I need to see a specialist my doctor will sent me to one. I hope your doctors figure out soon what's going on with you. Great job on your workouts yesterday.

I finally got through PHA 2020 on live this morning! 3rd times a charm.... I had started a couple other times and had to quit for buffering streaming problems but today was working so I made it through the entire workout. This one is pretty typical PHA stuff - none of the Step Boss PHA3 moves with the riser. But a good workout.

Belinda - is Jeni DelPozo on youtube? I've not heard of her before - but I don't tend to do any pilates.

Doreen - I have a FabFitFun subscription, it comes with free workouts. All the instructor on FabFitFun have their own online streaming. I haven't looked if she is on YT? Great job this morning.

No workout today. If I have time in the morning before church I may do one.

Belinda, my primary doctor set me up with the arthritis center because she goes there and she set me up with the heart doctor. I set up the pulmonologist on my own at the heart hospital where they sent me to have the heart CT. The hospital sent me the names of their 3 pulmonologists. I almost waited till I see the heart doctor on Friday to see if he was going to point me to a doctor. Anyway, I am glad that is over for now. My primary care has not been so helpful with the allergies so I think I need to find a specialist for that. She mentioned me looking into trying singulair, but after reading about it I am not going to do it. Not worth the side affects.

Doreen, glad that you got the PHA 2020 to work finally.
 
Today I went for a 2.5 mile slow walk. The sun was out, it was beautiful outside.

My doctor is a good doctor. She gives me suggestions on ways she can help me and knows that I don't like meds all that much so she leaves a lot up to me. She was contacted for me by my daughter's best friend who is a PA when I had all of the lymph node issues and was running a fever. My daughter was upset because the doctor they gave me at the time said my platelets were low and sent me home doing nothing. Anyway he is not working in that office anymore. My doctor immediately had me tests set up and even texted me copies of the reports to share with my daughter. She has been great. I am afraid of losing her since she only works two days a week because of her RA and she is busy with her children and foster children.

I did Lite Stacked UB. I wrote all the exercise on paper and played my own music. I also modified as need especially those push ups she did on her knees. I also did BARLATES Grace & Strength Arms. This one was high reps light weights.

I own a lot of KCM dvd's. I buy them, but never do them :( Which one has an upper body only with not a lot of equipments? Which one is your favorite upper body workout?

Doreen - how does PHA 2020 compare to all her PHA? How different is PHA 2020? Nicely done.

Hi,

Saw my doctor today about my knees. I pulled my hamstring. Whatever I did irritated my knee as well. He still wants me to do 10 min walks 3 times a day and no lower weight workouts. He wants me to do light short lower body stretching, no kneeling. My knees are still swollen.

I did a light walk, I need to get my steps in. I also did some SBF lower body stretches.

I finally got a workout in this afternoon. It is hard to push myself and I am tired, but I got it done :)
I did Raw 5 day strength day 2 chest and triceps followed by day 5 stretch. Day 2 was 33 minutes, heart r ate average 120, max 150, 130 calories, 351 steps. Day 5 stretch was 36 minutes, heart rate average 108, max 147, 95 calories, 102 steps. Total time was 69 minutes, 225 calories, 453 steps.

Doreen, it looks like Cathe put a little movement into that PHA workout to increase the heart rate. It looks good.
 
This morning I stacked a couple RAW workouts - Weights Circuit #1 and Strong & Lean (skipped the warm up and stopped before the abs). I adore the kettlebell work on RAW - I don't have many KB DVDs so I may keep RAW just for the KB workouts since Cathe doesn't do them.

I saw Cathe's new series. I'm holding off for now but I may go ahead and get the downloads. I just don't know about that Yogo DVD and may decide to wait until I can just separately order the 2 downloads at a Black Friday sale or something. Undecided - we'll see!

I then did Raw 5 day strength day 3 shoulders and legs, 35 minutes, 103 calories, met 3.6, 519 steps, heart rate average 107 max 131. I finished with Lite extended stretch 2, 10 minutes, 30 calories, heart rate average 105, max 140, 18 steps. Total time spent 96 minutes, calories 415, 5,414 steps.

I was trying to find my comfort zone here as my low back is sore from the prone frog legs on day one. I kept wondering why my back was achy yesterday and then figured it out. This happened last week too.

Doreen, Kelly does add in kettlebells to quite a few of her workouts. I like the looks of some of the new ones she is planning.

Belinda, I was glad to see the new workouts will have one of the Hiit workouts as a low impact workout. I am not in a hurry to preorder. I have too many other things I want to take care of. I like Yoga, although I really do not use Cathe's other yoga workouts all that much. I don't know why, I guess I just have other stretches and yoga workouts that I like better.

Went for a 30 min walk outside, plus SBF core.

Diane - I am kinda burned out on HiiT workouts. All the Hiit workouts starting too look alike. I already have enough Cathe Hiit workouts. I think the last time I used Cathe's yoga dvd was in 2017. I have other yoga instructors I enjoy more. I will wait for reviews first and use what I already have. Which I plan on doing this year.
