I have a two year old(well,2 and a half)and he just walked up to me and stuck his hand out and said"Hello,my names Dalton...Whats your name!" Then after we shook hands he says "Its nice to meet you mommie"

SO CUTE! My DH and I almost died laughing!

Amelia, what a cutie you have! And lovely manners! I love that age and the next few years where they're really learning the language and they give you the best mispronunciations.

My two are 12 and 10 now so those are going away but a couple of my faves:

Jammamas - for pajamas

Baby Cheezits - for baby Jesus (we aren't religious and DD asks me one day out of the blue, "Mommy, Christmas is about Baby Cheezits, right?" I almost drove off the road.

Very cute! I have a 5-year old boy and another who just turned 2 a couple months ago.

I remember the oldest one when he first learned to talk would say "cacapoopooseepeepee" when he did pee or poop. I think the caca part was not the word "caca" meaning poop but it was supposed to mean "I got". He also said "toof" for "two" for the longest time. He also had an imaginary friend named George who was very tall and blue and had lots of girlfriends.

The youngest one is just now saying funny things, but with him it's more about these expressive faces he makes--raising his eyebrows and blinking his eyes at me a lot when he's asking something. One funny thing he does is he calls every letter he sees a W. He'll point at a word and for each letter say "W...W...W...W...W". I think it's because sometimes we spell his name (which is Ewan) and he remembers the W in his name.

That is so cute!!

I also have a 2 1/2 yo son, and he says some pretty hilarious things.

The most memorable was a few weeks ago when he "dared" me to do something. He said, "Mom, I will give you 5 dollars if you get in this cooler" (daring me to try to fit myself inside of this large cooler we had on the deck). I was thinking, what? Where did THAT come from?

soo funny girls!
I just remember another one that my DD said...she was about 3,she asked "mommie,I want to go to Hot mustard!" My DH and I couldn't figure out what she meant and then after about twenty minutes we figured it out...she meant "blockbuster",LOL

My ds also starting saying "thank you, friend" after i refill his sippy cup or fix him something to eat,LOL-where does he get this stuff! Im thinking from his cartoons.

Ok, I'm not a Mom but have more nieces than I can count. When my niece Corrin was around 3, every time I would go over my sister's house, my niece would answer the door and introduce my to my sister and her husband. She'd say "Hi Auntie Allie! This is my's mom, and this is my's dad...." It was hysterical because she always put a "s" at the end of "my".

Another one of my nieces has gotten into adding the phrase "just like me" to everything. I don't know where she got it. I'll be like, "that is a pretty flower" and she goes "just like me!", which of course fits perfectly. It's the other times when I'll say something like "it's raining out" and she's like "just like me!". Um, yeah.

There are too many fun things that they say to even count! I've had the best time being an Auntie!!

Too funny. Yesterday I took my 5 yo dd to the orchard where they had a petting zoo. Inside the petting area was a cow with a tag with numbers on it's ear. She walked over to the cow and said to me so seriously " Look mom that cow has his phone number on his ear just in case she gets lost." I said to her with my staightest face. Yeah that is right. They don't want to lose her.

How many of us continue to use our kids "words" long past the time the kids outgrow them? I was just thinking of one earlier. Another gem from my DD.

Dicklieous - for ridiculous.

I use that one all the time! :p

I agree Suzanne! A few that come to mind that we still use in our family came from my 18 year old Elizabeth when she was 2 or 3. For umbrella she said underbrella, which is genius! The other is rhinocerous (sp?), we still say nossernurse :)

Take Care

My parents have continued to use our "kid" words forever. I swear, my sisters have completely revised their vocabulary too. My sister's dog named Cooper has officially become "Bapoo" since that's what my nieces always called him. Poor little guy. Must be so confused.....

Here's a few from my 4 year old over the last couple of years

Alligatorade - Gatorade
Cheetahs - Cheetos
Hangerburg - Hamburger
