just to update on my dad/viola

earlier i posted on a thread about dad not doing so well. they found a blood clot on the brain so of course surgery is in order. they say nothing to serious pretty standard. any surgery is scary, but he also has a lump on his neck which he swears is a goiter but docs insisted on a biospy. he has to go the doc tomorrow to get it checked. i am kind of concerned but i think it might be a goiter that he just never got checked earlier so it got worse.he kind of woke up with it one day, and it never left.

as for viola, we go back to her doc on monday to dicuss some options to help with viola violent behavior and attnetion span. tomorrow we have her IEP meeting to discuss some changes for the therapy options. we think some of the behavior is from add(which is common to miss with the autism)but some of it is from the sensory issues associated with the autism. just trying to find out the good ways to handle the issues without going to the dangerous meds. it is an option we are still researching, only b/c she might one of few that may actually have a second disorder on top of autism. but we must first exhaust all other options to see if they produce any results before going that route.

so a thank you all for the good vibes and well wishes. just not the best time of year to go thru this. its a time to be holly jolly and all that jazz and i can't help but be a worry wart. bless you all

Thanks for the update, Kassia.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in your time of need.

I know it's really rough to have to deal with these things around the holidays. I've had my share of bad times around holidays and it sucks. Keep your chin up if you can and try to laugh and smile and have some fun! It will make you feel better and your good mood will be contagious! :)

Best wishes for you and yours!

Kassia - Hugs and good thoughts/prayers and everything for you, your daughter and Dad.

You are a very strong woman it comes through your posts.

We are all here for you.

You have been very supportive with me and my son.

Kassia, I wish your dad, your daughter and YOU, well.:) It sounds like your daughter's sensory issues are affecting her in the same way they affected my son. I hope you find the right combination of therapeutic measures for her.

Hugs,
Pinky
