Jump in number of people on the forums?

When you log on or click on the forum page, it tells you how many people are viewing the different sections of the forum area. I've been used to seeing something like "24 people viewing" next to STS or ASK Cathe, and maybe 150-250 viewing Open Discussion during a weekday. But, has anyone else noticed the past few days that all of the sudden there are hundreds more poeple on the forums than there used to be at any given time--there are apparently over 700 viewing this forum right now! Did SNM change the way to track that, or have hundreds of people actually shown up in the past few days? It's bugging me to not know the answer!

Random thought, I know, but I'm curious :p

Hi Kelly - I've noticed that too! Yesterday, I think there were 700 something viewing open discussion! Wow -
 
It's got to be an error
Either that or no one is answering any of MY posts !!! HA HA
Everytime I come to Cathe home page, I get an error on page notice. I think they must be having some problems.

That is quite a lot of people all of a sudden. I'm thinking it's an error.

Well, look at the number of registered members! That number has always been very high as opposed to the number who actually post. Now that Cathe has put clips up on YouTube and launched her line of merchandise in national retail stores, it seems only logical that this would increase the hits on her website.

I noticed this morning that my log in information says that my last visit was on 10-13-08. I come here every day, so I'm thinking somehow we're not being logged out and people are being counted even when they're not on the forums. It's such a silly thing to get hung up on, I just was taken aback to see such a huge jump from one day to the next. I think there should be thousands of people on here at any given time! Cathe sure deserves it :)

Well, if they're here, they're sure not posting. The same topics are on page 1 for days now, where they used to be change much more rapidly. Where do you see that number, btw?
 
Yea...I was on at 6 AM this morning...and it said 700 people were viewing the boards. And I was thinking....what, it's Saturday, why are people not sleeping in? Of course...i wasn't sleeping in....I'm an early bird!
