How do u know what size?

When buying a pair of pants that goes by your waist size how do you know what to get? For instance I wear a 4/6 is that a waist size of 28?

Just grab a tape measure and measure your waist. That will translate to the pants size. It's in inches. Mine is not 28 *le sigh*

Take note of the style of pants you are ordering though. I tend to wear a lot of lower rise pants so the size of my waistline really has nothing to do with what size I take in the pants. I always end up in a size smaller then what would actually fit my waist when I buy these pants. Just something to think about...

Normally it's 30 = size 8, 29 = 6, 28 - 4, etc...

"Number" sizes are so inconsistent (one brand's size 8 is another's size 4).
