HELP: I'm So Tired!!

What is going on?!?! I don't get it..

Over the past few months I have been noticing Im sleeping in later and later.. Ive never been an early riser.. 8ish was fine for me (+/- half hour).

The past two months Id say it has really gotten worse! Ive been sleeping til 11ish (even in my teens I rarely slept that late!).. and a 2 hour nap in the late afternoon isn't unheard of either.
Yesterday, in fact, I slept til 11, worked out.. I took an almost 2 hour nap late afternoon and then still went to bed and was asleep by 12:30ish. I woke up this morning before the sun came up, had a smoothie then passed back out and slept til 11 again!

Hmm.. let's see here.. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't comsume irregular amounts of caffine or sugar, Im not overweight, I don't have kids, I don't have a demanding job..
Im on a 3-4 day split and only do cardio about 1-2 times per week..

I started taking supplements/vitamins (which, if anything, I would have thought might have given me more energy), I almost doubled my protein and increased the frequency of meals.

Aren't these all things that would have improved any situation?

Is somehting going around?? Did MONO reinvent itself back in our list of social malfunctions??

I don't know what could possibly be the problem? I feel like Im sleeping half my life away..
I thought that maybe I was fatigued (for whatever reason, see above, im not exactly what you'd call overworked), so I thought if I took a weekend and relaxed and slept and did nothing it would work its way out, but didnt seem to help.
If I could stop time and the aging process I would just sleep all day-- but life is too short and I don't know what could be the problem..

Anyone shed some light on this? Is there something I don't know? (Is there something going around?)

HI Pebbles! I would say go to your doctor as soon as you can for some bloodwork. It seems like you are taking are of your body with proper nutrition and vitamins, and it doesn't seem like you are overtraining, so maybe it's a virus or something with your thyriods? You never know, but if you've never been this tired, I would go to the doctor asap!

I agree with the above post.
My sister was anemic and didn't realize it until she had some routine blood test done. She was tired but thought it was from taking care of the kids.
Her monthly periods were getting heavy and didn't think anything of it. That was a contributing factor.

The same thing happened to me back in the spring. Extremely tired and could barely make it through a workout. When I did w/o, I most definitely had to nap afterwards. This went on for many months and I just thought I was overdoing things with the kids and my DS graduating. Went to the doc and I was extremely anemic. My levels should have been no lower than 50 and they were at 2. No wonder, huh! I started taking iron supplements and within 3 weeks or so started to get my energy back.

My advise, go see a doctor.
