Happy Birthday to Me!

Well let me just take a moment - to quote a great Barbra Streisand song - Come On Now Let's Hear It For Me! Today I am 42 years old. And healthy and happy with my life and my marriage and my beautiful little girls.

This is my first birthday and first Thanksgiving without my mother - which was her holiday. And 26 family members were at our home yesterday all crying and laughing and eating and loving each other (and let me tell you my and my husband's family represent several religions, races and orientations so being together and loving each other is quite a feat in itself - the world should accept and celebrate each other's differences as well as we do!)

All I can say is I am so grateful. And so sure, so damned sure, that my mother is with me today and proud. Now off I go for me annual solo birthday run to give thanks for my strong legs and lungs. oops - there I go crying again. Gosh I am getting to be a big mush in my old age!

Love to all and a happy Thanksgiving.

Julie :) :)

Happy birthday, Julie. You have 26 wonderful blessings right there, aside from your mom, who I'm sure has you in her heart the way you hold her in yours. Enjoy your day.

Happy Birthday Julie! What a wonderful example you must be to your little girls and how lucky they are to be a part of such a fantastic family. Your Mom us surely with you.

Happy Birthday Julie!! I'm glad you have so many wonderful memories and continue to make more wonderful memories. Life is grand like that, isn't it?

Enjoy all your moments today and always!!

Happy Birthday Julie!

I'm so sorry about your mother. The first year is so hard, but it does get easier. Just think how proud she is that you did Thanksgiving so well. Go ahead and cry, it's good for you.

42 is a wonderful age to be healthy and happy. All ages are, but there's something about being able to enjoy the wisdom we acquired so far.

Give your girls hugs and kisses for me and Grandma. Have a wonderful weekend! Let us know if you need to chat some more.

Happy Belated Julie! (my daughter's name!) What a beautiful story! I lost my Mom also but know she is with me. How wonderful that you all got to reminisce about great memories of her yesterday. Give your DH and those sweet lil' girls a big hug.

Happy birthday Julie,
I know how it is to lose a mother. It has been a while for me. It will get easier over time. As I reach many crossroads in my life, and celebrations, I often think of how my mother would enjoy, and share them with me.
It is so wonderful to have family around you. You are very lucky. Enjoy and savor the time together!!

Happy Birthday, Julie! Sounds like you have an awesome family. I know how you feel. We just celebrated the second Thanksgiving without my father. It does get easier each year, though.
