Hi Everyone

My day started well I recieved part of the new order of videos from CK Sales (Anna you were right they are were very quick I will starting order from them I think). Anyway I got 4 Janis Saffrell tapes the one I just watched was Brand New Butts and more it looks fanatisic can't wait until the video is repaired and I can watch it.

My not so great news was that I went to see my consultant today he wasn't there today but his register took the clinic I didn't ask all my questions as he was not familar with me. But I did ask about my kidney production and he told me I have 50% kidney production in both kidneys and at the moment they are both stable. I wish I hadn't asked anyway I am still trying to absorb this it explains my tiredness.

Well that all I am getting my hair plaited tomorrow so that will cheer my up the rest of today is a bit of a washout.

Hi Babs,

I'm glad you posted on the subject of kidney dysfunction.

I understand what you're going through with kidney dysfunction. I, too, have kidney disease. I have what is called Medullary Sponge Kidney. Right now I'm at 30% and I know what you mean by being tired. Do you know how long you have had 50% function? I had 70% in 1996, so mine is going down quickly. I've been having a hard time dealing with it lately because I'm having some other medical problems as well. I hope your function remains stable. Have the drs. given you any special diet to follow? Please keep my posted or feel free to email me at [email protected].

Best,

Sherry

I will email tomorrow I am a bit no very upset today. My problems began around about 1994 I think I had around 70% then but I had lots of stones and since then have had scaring on the kidneys themselves.

Diet wise I have had to reduce on meat and diary I am allowed direutics as they encourage you to go to the low and potassium as I am very low in that.

I currently know someone who has the same disease as you, I am not sure what his function is but he has been in and out of hospital stablising his condition this year.

I will email you tomorrow.

Thank you so much for all those hugs and kind thoughts I just needed to talk to someone I couldn't speak to my mother as she would be measuring me for my coffin.

I am feeling more postitive today I mean they are working, I can exercise I just need to drink lots it was just a shock hearing how bad they actually were. I was to scared to ask about gettig an xray on my knees.

Brand New Butts is fab I love and can't wait to do it. Janis leds I think 6 other exercises (all different body types non too ultra fit)thorough a series of standing and floor work. She uses dumbells 2-8lbs but you can go heavier and ankle weights 2-5lbs. I think most of the exercises would be unsafe with a barbell as there is a lot of balancing work but if you could I would. She really works but upper and lower body. My video is being repaired but I am going to call them and give them some stick to get things moving as I really want to do this tape.

Hello Babs,

Sorry to hear about your condition. I hope you don't mind me asking a little about it. I would like to know if the condition you have is hereditary or was it something else? And did the doctor say it can be improve or does it just get worse?

Yen

Hi Yen

No I don't mind you asking in my case it was hereditary in the UK there are 2 other families I know who have it normally it a lifestyle disorder. Most people develope it as they get older normally due to either ageing or not drinking enough water.

It has improved because both me and my sister when we presented with problems were very close to failure the unfortunate thing with kidney failure is that often you feel fine I was just very tired. It will improve but the damage to the organs is permanent I am always telling people at work and anywhere else to drink it is sometimes that important. I have to drink around 2 litres of water a day.

My mother first presented when she was pregnant with my brother who is 18 month older than me. They advised her when she was pregnant with me that she should have a termination she refused personally I am glad.

Let me know if you want more information.
