Getting this last 10-20 lbs. off

Venus

Cathlete
I've lost 87-90 lbs. (depending on the day I fluctuate 3 lbs). I have been stuck here since Feb. I know that I must burn more than I eat and I *think* I am but I'm not losing "weight" (meaning the scale is not going down). I eat as clean as I'm going to (meaning 80-90% clean, but I'm gonna have treats here and there realistically). I see a nutritionist, do what she says, exercise 6 days a week about as hard as my body will take before it starts complaining. I know w/o seeing a food diary and exercise diary it's hard to give advice, but I'm wondering if anyone else here got stuck like this and if you did what really helped with that last few lbs. Just so you know I'm aiming for the TOP of my weight range right now and/or 20-22% BF, so my goals are realistic.

Thanks for any tips you have!

WOW! Your before and after pictures are mind blowing. I have just embarked on the journey that you are almost done w/. I think 220# has been my heaviest, now I'm at 183. I have been sick for the last 2 days and haven't done anything.
Anyways, I have no answer to your ?. Just wanted to let you know that you look really good and you are definitely an inspiration.:)

Venus,
I don't have advice for you(you know everyone is probably going to say you will have to give up those treats...boo), but I want to say congrats on how far you've come. I was looking at your workouts and you are quite amazing. Really, keep up the great work and you look really good!!! You lead a very active, healthy life "and I salute you."(quoting Cathe at the end of BC here)

Hi Venus! First off, your hard work really shows - you look awesome! So, congrats on how far you have come. I can commiserate with your situation. Back in 1992 (I was 16 at the time) I took off 150 lbs so I know where you are coming from to keep the progress moving. What I found is that the closer I came to my goal the more stubborn my body became about losing.

Remember first off that progress is more than the scale going down - it is about inches lost and your body taking a new, firm shape. Muscle, although it does not weigh more than fat, it is more dense and takes up less space. So, you can be gaining lean muscle mass and losing fat at the same time but the scale alone will not tell you that.

Now is the time to really jump start your body and shock it into a new routine. Try to really vary up the routine and give your body something new to tackle. High intensity interval training is great for weight loss! Have you seen Cathe's Aug rotation? I think that concept would help anyone with a stubborn plateau. Anyhow, sorry for rambling, but wanted to offer some of my own thoughts. Hope this helps :)

Thanks to all 3 of you for your kind words and helpful advice.

Debbie I think you are right I need to shock my body it's very complacent. I already tried eating less calories and that didn't do it so I think it's a matter of kicking up the fitness level another notch.
