STEM CELLS!!!!!!! The first attempt at retrieving his own stem cells for his self to self transplant failed they gave him one more chance using a new experimental drug. It worked first time and today he spent the day getting stem cells removed. He will do this again tomorrow then they will zap them to kill anything remaining. He will go inpatient in a week or so to get blasting with blood and marrow killing chemo so that he can have his cancer free stem cells transplanted back into him. This will prayerfully make him cancer free!!! This treatment does not have the rejection factors that the sibling to self has so his recovery will be shorter, and he won't be on as many drugs to maintain his cancer free state and new stem cells.

Thanks everybody for continuing to pray!!!

I will keep you updated as we know things.

Remember he and his wife are in CO and the rest of the family is on the east coast.

I am in Colorado -- I thought something was feeling really great here today! Now I know what it is! What a relief to you and your family. I hope everything continues to go well and he is able to beat this.

i hope all goes well. they were going to do this for my dad but they found the cancer in his bone marrow. i am glad that your bil was able to have this procedure. my dad went to duke for his and they assured that it was a good route in helping to fight the disease. i pray that this is the case for your bil. cancer is such a hard and painful thing to live with and i do have hope that things will get better for your family.

many blessings.
