Food Substitutions

A couple of the daily menus call for tuna and tofu (not together though) and I hate tuna and tofu. What can I substitute? I checked out The 90/10 Weight Loss Plan by Joan Bauer and The Formula: 40-30-30 plan from the library (the weight watcher points are not motivating anymore). Has anyone done either of these plans? Until I can get to the store (and afford it) I just using my own menus for the 40-30-30 plan. I've realized I eat way too many carbs and not enough protein.

Thanks

Next to the canned tuna in the grocery is canned chicken. It's cooked and diced like tuna...but it's chicken. I keep these cans handy for when I'm in a pinch or when the LAST thing I want to do is trim slimy chicken filets! Gets old!

I don't know about the tofu...I'd have to see the recipe.

No, I have never done the plans. Well, I did do the Zone which is 30 fat-30 protein-40 carbs. I didn't stick with it for more than a few months though because my body needed more protein, more carbs and less fat for my level of activity and body type.

The tofu recipe is called Scrambled Tofu

Mash 4 oz of firm tofu. Whisk together dash of cumin, garlic powder, 1 tbsp water, 1 1/2 tsp mellow-barley light miso (what is this?), and fresh ground pepper. Heat tofu over med flame - immediately add miso mixture. Stir until heated through.

Doesn't sound appetizing at all.
