I've been using sparkspeople. I find it a little easier than fitday.
I think I will start Monday. This way I have the weekend to think my about my meals.
Zig-zagging, also known as calorie-staggering is where you eat at a calorie deficit for 3 days and then eat at maintainence level for 1 day. It is very effective for weight loss. It is recommended that while doing this you also keep track of your fat/carb/protein intake to make sure you are getting proper amounts of all.
Several people, myself included, have had great success losing weight using this method!

Whatever works for you!
In the beginning it can be tough to make everything balance out between the proper cal intake and the f/c/p ratios but after a couple of weeks you will begin to know what works and what doesn't. Especially if you tend to eat alot of the same foods every day. I know I eat the same stuff every day pretty much w/the exception of dinner so it wasn't too hard for me to make it work.

Well just remember it's 3 days in a row at a defecit followed up by 1 day at maintenence and then back to 3 days at a deficit so no matter how you start off, the days you eat high or low cals will rotate through the week! When you are on deficit days on weekends think of it as an extra added "challenge"!}(
