We are having my DH's family portrait done during the Thanksgiving Day weekend since everyone will be here. I NEED to lose a few pounds before then since the wonderful camera puts on 10lbs. I'm going to try to eat as clean as possible with all this Halloween candy in herex( What I need advice on is should I do more cardio or weights or a combo? I am going to push for 6 days a week with a rest day on Sunday. Or if I do circuit training such as Boot Camp, do I work cardio only on alternate days? Hope this makes sense. Thanks for all your advice, I need all the help I can get;-)

Personally, I would do three days of circuit (or two) and the rest alternate between interval type cardio (Imax) and more steady state-although I have not done them all the way through because I am a poor stepper, maybe some of Cathe's step workouts or just go out and walk!
Good luck, drink lots of water, concentrate on eating protein and veggies, limit the carbs (this is the way I dieted to lean out for competition), although long term its not good for your body, it will help you lose quickly for your picture-especially water weight.

Edit: Just to say, if I could make myself limit the carbs I would reach my own 5 pound goal!
;)

The food is what will help you to lose. I am on a BootCamp program with my gym right now. We are not supposed to weigh ourselves during the challenge, but I know that I have lost quite a bit.

We are eating high protein and lower carbs.

For breakfast (just some ideas):
egg whites on ww toast or on a ww tortilla...look for the ones that are low carb, too.

You can also have PB on the ww/low carb tortilla with fruit

A snack might be a yogurt with some Kashi mixed in.

A lunch is turkey on a tortilla with fruit and veggies (you can have as many fruit and veggies as you wish...within reason!!).

Dinner is a small piece of chicken with whole grain rice or black beans and salsa.

There are lots of other options, but those are pretty much the ones that I have been eating. I am not hungry (except after a workout). Another snack might be ww toast with a little bit of PB...

I have been hitting the workouts pretty hard, too. Mostly circuit...

Good luck!
Jenn

Thanks for the input! I am definitely going to up my water intake and probably will do the circuit workouts. Unfortunately I can't up my protein intake because of health reasons but I will keep a close watch on my carbs, my downfallx( I should have done the challenge at my gym but I kept coming up with excuses now I have to work extra hard since I slacked. Oh well, my fault. Thanks again and have a great weekend:7
