Does this look alright? Fitday total fat.......

Cathlete
Someone suggested I try the fitday program because I'm concerned I'm eating too much fat. This is all new to me. I need to lose about 55 lbs, does this look alright? I have a sit down job, and workout with Cathe about 1 hour 5 days a week.

I'm eating about 1500 cals, 29% of that from fat, 45% carbs, and 26% protein.

Calories Eaten Today Total: 1524

Fat: 47 29%

Carbs: 196 659 45%
Fiber: 31

Protein: 93 371 26%

Thank you guys!

dont worry about eating to much fat, good fats are good. it helps keep you more satisfied until the next meal. try doing this
For Fat loss
Body weight X 12 can go as low as 10 if no results
Eat 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight
Eat .4 -.5 grams of fat per pound of body weight
and then eat carbs to fill up extra in the calorie range

1 gram of protein = 4 calories
1 gram of fat = 9 calories
1 gram of carbs = 4 calories

Hope this is helpful, good luck :)

Rhonda,
I think it depends on what/whose philosophy you believe. What you show might sound very balanced to some and not to others.

Personally, I think a low fat whole food plant based diet is ideal, though I don't stick to it all the time. So for me, I would try for a little lower fat, more fiber (though u probably have more there than many) and less protein from animal sources.

So, what are you trying to do? Do you think 29 percent of your calories from fat is good? What kind of fat was it? Butter/dairy or avocado or fish? I'm just throwing out stuff, there are at least a million opinions on proper nutrition on this board alone:) . So you might get more responses if your question was something like, what are the benefits of a low fat diet and what do you consider to be low fat? Or perhaps you were eating 50 percent of your calories from fat last week, all in the form of hydrogenated oils, in which case what you show will probably result in weight loss no matter what. It's relative.
Good luck w/ your journey. I've lost 50ish pounds myself. You will feel better all the time as well as feel really proud as your health improves.
