Do you eat after cardio?

Just wondering if you eat protein after cardio? I know most people do after wt training but I want sure if I should after cardio as well.

For me, it is usually dinner time anyway and so yes, I eat a meal with protein in it. I am not a person who eats protein bars or downs protein shakes. I prefer natural, home cooked meals that are vegetarian and I see no reason why every exercise session should not be followed by a meal which includes protein (I usually have a bean burrito, a real veggies, beans, cheese and carbs combo. Love it!). Since your name is RUNFREE, I am assuming that running is a main cardio activity for you, and yes, you definitely want protein in your meal after the run to help restore the muscles in the glutes and legs. Protein after a run rather than before, as protein digestion before a run could hinder your workout, right?

For me it is breakfast time. I workout, walk the dogs and then eat oatmeal and fruit. Just tea before. I cannot workout with anything in my stomach.

I will eat a meal or a snack after each workout (cardio or weights) depending on what time it is. Sometimes it has protein in it and sometimes it doesn't but that determination is not made by the type of work out I do. If it's a meal, it definitely will include protein. If it's a snack, it may not. For example, this morning after my weight work out (and shower), I had a snack-a banana at around 6:45. In about 30 mins I will eat breakfast and that will be half a bagel thin with p/b on it and an apple so I will get my protein then.

.Yes, I am a runner. I sometimes run late in the evening and don't always feel like eating.I usually don't eat after a run unless its in the morning. But I'm trying to reevaluate my diet and lose some wt. Thanks for the advice.

Yup. Mix of protein and carbs. Since I usually do cardio in the morning right after I get up, I eat breakfast when I finish.
