Confused on the correct Step dimensions. Please help! :o

What are the dimensions of the Original Step, that Cathe uses in her videos? (not the smaller Studio Step).

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=1875358
Walmart lists it as 40" x 14".

FWonline.com lists it as 43" x 15". http://www.fwonline.com/stp.htm

Cathe's link to Steps is confusing, as she shows 2 various dimensions for the SAME "original step". ??? If you scroll down the page, to the photo of the Step, it says "40" x 14". But the copy, next to the pic, says "44in (Length) x 16 in (wide) x 4in. (Height)". ????
http://www.cathe.com/steps.htm

And The Step site, lists the dimensions as:
"43" x 16" ??????? http://www.thestep.com/html/instr-order.htm

I really do not want to order the wrong Step. Does anyone know WHICH of these is the correct measurement? The prices are also all over the place, so I'd like to go with Walmart IF their Step is indeed the correct size...which seems to be the "43" x 16", according to the company that makes them.

Thanks!

RE: Confused on the correct Step dimensions. Please hel...

I bought a used step off of ebay...it's called "the step" by reebok and it's 40" long by 14" inches wide. It's teal with the black non-slip grid on top. I love it! Any longer and I wouldn't have room to move in the room where I work out!

ETA: I'm pretty sure what I have is considered a FULL SIZE step. I guess they sell them a little bigger too (the 43" ones) like you mentioned but I think 40" is plenty big enough IMO.

HTH!:)

I just measured mine. The exterior dimensions are 16 x 43. The top surface is 14 x 39 1/2

It slants out a little from the top to the base so maybe that's why there are different dimensions listed different places.

Thanks to you both! :)

So, how can I tell if the one at Walmart is The Step's "Original Step", or if it's a different brand? It IS a teal color, but I thought The Step's step (lol) also came in a teal, as well as a black/grey?

I'm concerned about the dimensions not for "stepping" purposes, but because I want to have it double as a bench too. :)

I guess I'll order it anyway. The price is too good to beat.

Pretty much the only companies making steps are the Step Co (the Original Club Step---which is what I recommend--- the smaller home step===which comes packaged with Cathe's beginner step workouts, but which I do NOT recommend) and Reebok (which is shorter than the Step Co. step and not as flexible either in terms of height or in terms of "bounce" and shock absorption.

If you buy the 'original club step" (in either teal or black/grey), you've got the right step. I think it's supposed to be 42" long or thereabouts.
