Good Morning Cheetah Babes!:D

How is everyone on this COLD saturday morn?

Oooh yeah, love the feeling of full body DOMS!;)

Just gettin' us started! I'll be back with personals....

Brighton: MG is great, that's for sure. We changed our destination though as I decided that I wanted a more "fun" atmosphere. When we get together we tend to get loud and can be raunchy too (LOL) so I decided MG was not the right setting for us. We went to a place that has a bigger bar that is usually pretty busy and noiser then MG. It was a better choice for us. :) I hope you were able to get in the yoga you were planning on y'day. How are your little ones doing?

Karen: ATLEAST fil called, right? As for your mom, have the docs said anything as to what you could expect from the chemo if they do it? Will it improve her quality of life, etc in exchange for it's side effects? (((HUGS)))

Okay, looks like I didn't have a lot of personals to catch up on! Today will be a TM run and Centergy class. :)

BBIAB.

Hi Friends

Yes Wendy is is cold here. :) But it is so pretty that I can't be annoyed yet. Our weekend was supposed to be totally on the road, but ( no complaint here) DS 's high school game was canceled due to bad weather. We do head out to Utica today and stay overnight (2 hrs away) weather permitting.

Last night with we enjoyed a nice dinner with some friends. We were able to bring our own wine to the restaurant and pay a small corckage (sp?) fee.

Brighton- I give credit for keeping up with your busy responsibilities.

Shelly- marathon eve day!!!!! (((((hugs and more hugs)))))

Dallas- way to go on the Gauntlet. That used to be a favortie!

Carole- Yes Serentiy now!

Good morning cheetahs

Wendy..the "something" was PUB tri's and bi's. Tough story about your cousin. I know most families have at least one like that. PITA sis did decide to come out and help packing today. Could be interesting with my mouth...:D..Glad you got to have fun with Mr. Joey yesterday! Have a good TM run and fun with the Centergy class.

Judy...So do you and DH like a specific wine?

Linda...Let' put it this way. My PITA sister is a manipulator that lies and Mom tends to always believe her, so I would not call her spoiled. Have a great weekend getaway, sounds fun!!

Jackie...I agree, Cathe gives us everything we could want!! Our temps are back to normal, 30's in the morning with the highs in the 60's. I was enjoying those 75-80 days! Egads!!! 20 degrees is a bit brisk!

Shelly...Glad DH got the insurance straightened out. I bet getting your hair done was quite a treat! I know getting mine highlighted always makes me feel better. My PITA sis can be quite the manipulator, and yes, Mom has always tended to believe PITA so hence the enabling has gone on forever. This one sis has had enough....GOOD LUCK tomorrow!!!

Dallas...Yes, I go agree most families have at least one...PITA!!! I have enjoyed getting the miles up without any pain...:)

Brighton...This has been an ongoing issue with PITA sis, most of the time I just ignore it, but other times it frustrates the crap out of me. Thanks for your serenity wishes and group hug!! Good for you and DH for eating vegetarian 50% of the time!

Karen..I would have handled the FIL problem exactly the way you did...:)...Shelly has always been a helpful cheetah with medical issues.

Where has Cathy been???

I met with my sister and Mom yesterday to do some more packing. We got her bedroom all cleaned out and feel we can finish today with the rest of the house. A Garage sale is in order for next weekend I think. So PITA sis is supposed to be there today. I sure hope so. Keeping my mouth shut might be a workout in itself!! I am planning on an EXT circuit with PUB sho and bi's and maybe tacking on PLB floor legs.

Have a great day...:)

Morning Ladies!

Well, didn't get to KM leg drills or abs y-day. We had a mega playdate that was not going well. Mostly DS5...he can be a stinker. Today, will be a run and what I didn't get done y-day. We have two soccer games, but I may stay home w/DS5 and get some things done. I also have to get the ingredients for the food I'm bringing for Thanksgiving. The kids are off the whole week. :)

Wendy ~ Enjoy that full body DOMS. I had some Wed from Mon and Tues workouts. :) Yeah, it's pathetic what sleeping in has become, but just think of all the stuff we get accomplished. ;)

Judy ~ How come you bring your own wine...just curious? It must be bad for games to be cancelled. Games are rarely cancelled around here. I'd like to hibernate when it gets cold. :p Stay warm.

Brighton ~ Good luck with your treadmill workout today. Let us know how it goes. :)

Karen ~ Glad our fil called. IA on letting your dh handle that.

Waves, "HI" to the rest of the sleepy Cheetahs. ;)

Morning cheetahs! Got our first snowfall of the year and have a pretty light covering this morning with temps in the 20s! Have to go out and buy our sugar plum pit bull a sweater tho!!:p

Well, the weather forecast for tomorrows race is partly cloudy with temps starting around 25 and "warming" up to 35 or so by the end. YIKES!
Well, it will at least give me incentive to keep moving!!

I'll leave here shortly after noon and drive straight to Philly for the expo at the convention center. BTW, for those interested, my bib# is 7756.
There actually is a co-worker of mine who will be there too. She's a sweet young thing. (Actually, most of them are... I'm quite the "granny" there) Anyway, her Mom is walking a half marathon... her long time fitness goal and she is going along with her for support... AWWW!
Doubt if I'll see her but I was excited that there was someone else at work even slightly interested in fitness.

Dallas- Vacation week for your kids now eh? I'm not sure if that makes things busier or easier for you! I bet your having a big wonderful traditional family Thanksgiving! I suppose you are torturing your lower body now with PLB!! Enjoy!

Wendy- Thanks for the race encouragement! There will be no one with me on this race to babble my head off too, Oh no! I will drive pretty much straight home after finishing.... a 3+ hr trip! I'll probably have to stop for some shopping too since I go into work Monday. DH is staying home. He is not happy about that but it would mean kenneling all of our kids... don't know any reliable house/pet sitters yet. Hope you have a great TM run and a fun time with your class today.

Brighton- Thanks for your WARM wishes. I will certainly be needing them tomorrow!!! Hope you have a very enjoyable run today, I bet the legs are getting right back into the swing of it! Wow... lost 10 inches of hair?? That must have been quite a change for you!

Karen- Thanks for your well wishes sweetie... Believe me I was not expecting you to pay much attention to my goings on at all! You have definitely ENOUGH on your plate to deal with!!!! Continued prayers for you and your Mom. Of all the areas of the brain to be affected by cancer, the meninges are definitely the most "treatable" and have the best prognosis. Sounds like your Mom is a fighter and most important of all she has YOU!! Believe me on this.... I've seen many many people deal with life threatening and serious illnesses and support like yours makes all the difference in the world!!

Judy- Thanks for the WARM {{{{HUG}}}} I'll have to hang on to that thought tomorrow! (LOL) It must be so beautiful up your way now... but I'm sure after several months of it, that beauty gets really "old"!

That's all there is to catch up on. I'll be checkin back this evening from my hotel.

Nothin but LOVE for the cheetahs!!!!

Carole- do you ever sleep in??? :p Good luck today with your workout in patience and restraint!!! (LOL) I get that kind of workout alot with rude patients, families, docs who think nurses make good targets for verbal abuse! I'll be very interested to hear if PITA sis really does make an appearance! Great kickbutt workout for you today as usual! Another mega long run tomorrow?

Shelly ~ GOOD LUCK!!! Thanks for the bib#, we can track you then. :) Now, refresh my memory...why did you sign up for this!?!?! j/k!! :p;)Seriously - keep moving!!! Did you ever live in a cold weather state? Or were you always an AZ gal? I can't remember. I've been in the Chicagoland area my whole life and I still can't get used to our winters. Re: the kids being off...some things will be easier and some not so easy. I plan to still get the workout out of the way before they wake up. THAT will make the whole day easier. :) Safe travels to you. Go get 'em!! OH, I goofed PLB is on the rotation for tomorrow. :)

Carole!!! ~ you snuck in here on me too! lol'd about "keeping your mouth shut will be a workout"! :D I was wondering where Cathy was too, but thought I missed that she was going away for the holiday. However, she's MIA?? You-who-Cathy...where are you? ;) Glad you're having pain free runs! I'm slowly adding running back, so far so good! Of course, I'm joining Cathy on the turtle pace. ;) Enjoy your workouts today. That's a lot of work packing up a house, garage sale, etc. Your PITA sis should be ashamed of herself!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Shelly – Enjoy your last day before the marathon! I’m sending Run Fast Vibes and healthy wishes! I know you’ll rock it, though! Stay warm!! That’s a chilly race! Thanks for the bib number!

Gloria – Honestly, I think it horrible that the kids are so cold and cannot wear their coats! If I were a parent, I’d be really upset. Poor things – including the teachers! Yeah, I do better with more endurance based workouts and circuits. I guess we’re all different. :p

Wendy – what are your plans for your weekend alone? I actually manage to stay pretty focused when I’m at home. Without everyone walking into my office wanting to talk and various other interruptions, I can focus and get things done. Sounds like a good workout you got yesterday!

Brighton – Thanks for the group hug! It has been rough lately! I’m currently road biking. I started with mountain biking – but road biking is less painful (I tend to fall a lot on the mountain bike!). But occasionally I grab DD15’s mountain bike and take it for a spin. I, too, hope the tire stays inflated for a while now! Thank you!

Karen – Sorry to hear about your mom. I hope there is some good news soon! Also sorry about the stress you’re dealing with with your in laws - geez! Not fun. HUGS!!!

Carole – sorry about PITA sister. I admire your patience with her. I hope she shows up to help today! Bring your manicure kit so if she breaks a nail – she can’t use that as an excuse. How much did that pilates chair end up being?

Linda – yeah, the flats are not fun! Oh your Thanksgiving sounds fun! Enjoy it! We’re doing Thanksgiving today. My iphone is in a plastic outer case – I have a leather one and it drove me batty – I like the case I have now.

Jackie – Hope the run goes well today! Is your race next week? Sounds cold where you are! Jeez! It is nice to work from home, but I do get bored. I miss the office interaction. One of those darned if you don’t, darned if you do.

Dallas – I love Gauntlet. :p Yes, I got a lot done working from home. I’m still kettlebelling, but I had hurt my back and kettlebells were aggravating it, so I started a GS rotation – I think she works the lower back the best in that one – and it seems to have really helped. I’ve been adding kettlebells swings so I’m hoping to be able to really kettlebell again soon.

Sorry I never got back yesterday. I dug in early and kept going and got a lot done. Today is Thanksgiving for us – I’m making the bird and all the other stuff for the family so we can a family dinner before the kids get scattered to the wind. It’s a later dinner (5PM) so I’m thinking I’ll either take a bike ride outdoors (and pray the tire holds – it did for yesterday’s ride!) or something else – not sure what. Maybe one of Amy’s 2 hour premixes. :p We’ll see. Today is officially DH and my anniversary – 8 years! – but as we are celebrating Thanksgiving today we went our for dinner last night at the restaurant where we had our first official date. Dinner was fabulous. We had a good time. Have a great day all!

Hola, cheetahs!
th_sunshine.gif

No chance at all to post yesterday. Busy times, but things are going great! Lots to catch up on here…

Posh—thanks for sounding the amen! OK, the office mascot is just too cute.
sbrunh1.gif
What is up with these ornery & rude students causing you all to give the pony some extra squeezes? (BTW, does the pony have a name?) Yes, the MM ab work I did the other day was from Muscle Max. Although my abs look more like they were fashioned after the M&Ms routine... *lol* Thank God my desk drawer is finally empty of them evil things! :D Busted a gut ‘bout hydrating. You know it!

Here is a new strategy for dealing with the window:
complaints-1.jpg

Christine—*lol* about having to wrestle your way out of the covers. Know that feeling. No shortage of training sessions and meetings in your place, huh? A day of working from home after a hard week must have provided a welcome respite. I hope the workload is getting a little bit lighter for you day by day.
officesmiley.gif

Carole—thanks for the amen and for wondering about me. J Sorry, the end of the week was a blur. I left my gloves in the car, but I would have been wearing them if I had them on me. Nothin’ like a run in new kicks, eh? Always feel like I have so much BOUNCE. Boy, DSis’s excuses are so bad, they are actually laughable.
lamesmiley.gif
Good luck finishing with the house today and restraining yourself from the urge:
th_bitchslap.gif

Gloria—Well, I guess the temperatures felt by our Up North Cheetah sure put things into perspective!
freezinsmile1.gif
IA, those are not good working or learning conditions… My jaw dropped yesterday to see gas as low as $1.65…Hey, guess what? My Activboard and LCD were installed Thursday afternoon. Very exciting!! However, there’s, uh, no remote, no manual, no pen. *lol* Hmm, this will be interesting.

Dallas—oh, thank you for wondering about me! All is well. Just a little too busy to post y'day…My ITB has been good for the most part. Last TM run I accidentally wore my old running shoes, and there was a *slight* twinge, but it was short-lived. The yoga’s doin’ me good, and that’s without icing or rolling anymore. How’s your hip been? I saw that about Hugh. Hubba hubba!
flirtysmile3.gif

Linda—I do like Zappo’s, too. Thanks for the tip. I will have to check ‘em out. With STS, I’m guessing we'll be itchin' to get it going once we have it in our hands. I haven’t been thinking about it much. Did some 1RMs in the summer, but with things as busy as they are, it’s not even a blip on the radar screen. Great info about the RunKeeper—thank you! I have to download it. Oh and ha, I still have the Fluidity bar, too.
th_Sheepish.gif
Oh, I love the Nimbus and have been a longtime wearer. The 10s are a great update! I also have the clear, plastic case for the iPhone you mentioned. Like it a lot. Sorry DD is having some rough days.

Brighton— (((HUGS))) right backatcha. My classroom has had the heat restored, thankfully. At least for now. :D Oooh yes, Cary Grant fan here, too. North by Northwest and Rear Window are probably my top two favorite Hitchcock films. I always say someday I am going to start building my old VHS collection in DVD, but as soon as I start that, I know the DVD will probably become obsolete.
grinsign.gif

Jackie—Thanks for yesterday’s shoutout. I don’t like being cold, either. I think I am usually colder than most people, anyway. It was not fun last year to deal with that day in/day out. Something was fixed, though, and the heater was working again the next day, thankfully! I laughed at your comment to Gloria about it. Glad you had a better run. It’s a bit nerve-wracking when things seem to go south that close to a race. Brrr! Sending you some island vibes
island.gif
to stay warm out on your run today. :)

Wendy—I don’t know of a Macaroni Grill by me. We do have a Champps, though. I missed that about “former B” MF. I was under the impression you weren’t sweating it, but honestly, I don’t blame you for being annoyed by it. Not cool, in my book.
twothumbsdown.gif
A one-time karaoke queen? Really! Wow! And here you call yourself shy?! Wouldn’t catch me up there. Unh uh. No way. Ahh yes, sleeping in til 8. Now it’s about nodding off at
8!
gramhair.gif
*lol* But good that you have the room in your day for naps to make up for those lost zzz’s.

Karen—So sorry for the bad news.
shakehead.gif
I think you are right not to fixate on the people in your life who cannot be supportive. Lean on the family and friends around you who you know you can count on, and save your energy for your mom and the family.

Wendi—Great job with the massive cleaning project!
th_thumbsup.gif
Sometimes you just have to tend to life’s other demands, and that’s the way it is. Sure you’re already makin’ up for lost time with some beastly mishmoshes that would make mere mortals cry!

Shelly—You found UA gear on sale? Amazing! That stuff never seems to drop in price. May I ask how much? It’s totally a mental thing on the TM for me. I know it, and as stubborn as I am about some things, I cannot fully shake it. Don’t care for the hamster-on-the-wheel feeling much. And I just really enjoy the distractions of the outdoors and the fresh air. Just not THIS fresh. :D But I like your winter goal of getting outdoors at least once a week. Oh, so glad to hear the house is reinsured. That is great news!...best of luck tomorrow to our bad-azz cheetah! Hope you smash your goals!
th_cheer.gif

The forum wants me to truncate the message, so I'll back with the last little bit in a sec...

Christine—Posting with you. Happy anniversary! Glad you got so much done yesterday. Feels good to plow through, I bet. Enjoy whatever workout you wind up doing and your early T'giving dinner.

I had to go with impromptu rest days for the past two days. Thursday night I didn’t get my work done til 9:40 pm. That was just too late for me to exercise at that point.

OnThursday evening, I was notified that the National Board scores would be released sometime on Friday (they get posted to a website), so it was an uneasy night’s sleep that night, and I could not get up in time to bang out an early workout. All morning yesterday I had that kind of nervous tension that makes you feel like you have to vomit. Good for the diet, I must say. *heh heh* :p Anyway, I am thrilled to very quietly share with the cheetahs here that I passed!

It was a day of phone calls and congratulations, and after working late to get my team’s paperwork prepared for next week’s conferences, I had just enough time to keep my dinner plans. One of those kinds of jam-packed but absolutely dream-like days.

Workout yet TBD. Goin'with whatever I feel like. :)

Have a GREAT day!

Hi Cheetahs friends!

Heading to mom's, so no time for personals. I will do them tonight or tomorrow morning.

Just had to say ....

CATHY!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! You are my hero!!!!!!!!:):):):):):)

*Does Happy Dance Around the Room with Cathy* YEAH GIRL!! You Passed the National Boards! How freaking exciting! What a banner year for you! I'll be toasting you tonight at Thanksgiving and giving thanks for the inspiring friends I have here on the Cheetah boards!

I wanted to pop in to congratulate Cathy on an awesome accomplishment! You rock, girlfriend! Now go out and celebrate!:D:D:D

Hi Cheetahs!

No time for personals but I do see Cathy deserves a big CONGRATS on passing!! You go girl. So proud of you!

Got in a 5 mile run in temps in the high 20's. Went much better than I thought. Hands got cold but warmed up after about 2 miles. Other than that, I didn't cold. We ended up with a 9:27 pace. Think my running has improved a great deal since getting a RP. My breathing has evened out. So glad that we will be running the half together. Know that he will push me. THis also gave me an idea of how I felt about doing the race in these temps. Oh, the neighbor's dog ran with us for about 3 miles until another dog came along and grabbed her attention. She followed him then. Glad to have her out of the way of the cars.

Headed to DBF. Be back tomorrow. Have a great weekend!

Cathy ~ You slipped that in discreetly, didn't you!!??! I had to pop in and say, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Where's Carole with her fancy confetti? ;) I really need to get down with that! lol;):D I'm so happy for you!!! You worked so hard for it. You are truly an inspiration. :) That picture is just too funny! :D The hip is good. I did feel it a bit during the 5 miles this morn. I was almost done though. I'm still rolling in addition to yoga.

Christine ~ Happy Anniversary!! Do you celebrate on Thursday as well? So, did you hurt your back during a kettlebell workout. I was thinking of getting Debbie Sieber's new workout for muscle imbalances. Have you seen it?

Jackie ~ WTG on your very cold nicely paced run. :)

I got 5 miles in on the treadmill, KM-leg drills, and Amy's Hot Body BC absx2. I'll do an extended stretch later.

Have a great day!

I'm back.

I'm showered and fed and going to be putting both DS and myself down for a snooze after I get done here...:)

So I was able to get in almost 2.5 miles with Grace on the tm this morning before I had to get ready to take the Centergy class. Great work out. My core is going to be all fired up tmrw. I already felt it a bit from Joey's evil oblique work I did y'day.

Jackie: The fact that your neighbor's dog runs with you is just precious. I understand you worry for her and I don't blame but what a sweet image. :) Great job on the run this morning. I find it harder to run in the cold then in the heat. I'll have my work out cut out for me once I begin training for my mary. Enjoy your time spent with DBF!

Cathy: I posted this already but it bears repeating. CONGRATS on passing the National Boards! :D You have certainly been busy but I am happy to hear that it's all been positive for you. You must be in your glory these days with all of these wonderful accomplishments under your belt. I am infact letting MF's antics roll off my back but at the same time, his behavior towards me has not been that of a close friend which lead me to removing the "B" from BMF. Seems I have been pushed by the way-side and I've finally decided to push back. ;) Heh heh about the Kareoke thing. Yeah, it's safe to say that I have no idea where the outgoing personality and courage came from that was needed to do that! LOL It was fun though. :)

Christine: Aaaaww! Happy Anniversary! :) I think DH and I have been together 8 years but that includes dating. We've been married for 5. Enjoy your early T-Day feast and whatever work out you decide to belt out beforehand. You are better then I. I would certainly let all kinds of things distract me if I worked from home! LOL I have no plans for the rest of this afternoon. I am, however, going out for a few hours this evening after DH gets home. I have an in-home jewelry show type thing to go to. My best friend's sister started her own online jewelry store and she also dabbles in parties. She calls them shows or open-houses though. I don't need anything but I am going to go anyway cause a woman can't have enough jewelery you know! ;)

Shelly: I imagine you are well enroute to Philly right now. Enjoy the Expo! Hope you can find a good deal there! Can't wait to hear how you do tmrw as I know it will be a fabulous run for you. If I were ready, I'd be running it with you! :)

Dallas: Staying home to get things done today sounds like a good idea. All of that running around must be super tiring for you. Yeah, I could get TONS of stuff done being up as early as I am but....Well, you know! :p:D

Carole: I am keeping my fingers crossed that PITA sister showed up today and that you were able to keep your lips sealed. Unless ofcourse you WANT to let her have it. Well then by all means...GO FOR IT!:D:D:D

Judy: Glad you got a slight break from the weekend traveling. Yeah snow can be beautiful. That's for sure.

K, time to get the little guy up for his nap and myself down for mine!

Good night!;)

Howdy chickadees!

So I know I've been ridiculously absent these past few days...haven't even been able to read up on the going's on. I planned to drop in to send some......
{{{{CHEETAH SPEED}}}} on over to SHELLY!!! Hope you have a fantastic mary!

So, imagine my surprise (and elation) to find out that our very dear CATHY is due some MEGA CONGRATS!!!!! Wow, on the first try, too! Knew you'd do it, babe! I'm so happy for ya!

Sorry, to post and run but I gotta go set the shower to "defrost" and stand in there until fully thawed:confused:. Take care ladies!
