Cathe's June Rotation - Friday Check In

Hi Everyone,

I just decided to start off the Friday post so it was ready for everyone (now hopefully I haven't made a double! hehe)

I'm off to workout shortly, so will check in. I took my day off grudgingly. I always know my body needs a rest. In fact I have some DOMS from the S&H, but I miss so much the rush I get from exercising on the days I have to take off, that its hard to do. I convince myself by telling myself that I'll be able to push harder having rested for a day.

How about you all - how was the day off?

My day off will be Sunday...i tweaked the rotation to accomodate this. So far this week i've worked legs, shoulders, tri's, back, chest & bi's and boy am I feeling the soreness..but it's a good soreness. Tomorrow I have IMAX2 - scary.

hey Patricia - how did you find the Bi's day then? That's what we are doing tomorrow.

I made it through Day 5 today. Did S&H chest and then Cardio Kicks. This was the first time I've ever tried Cardio Kicks, although I have had it for a while. I skipped the warm-up and did about 30 minutes of the workout. I decided ahead of time that I can't afford to work out much more than 1hr-1hr 15 min, so as long as I get in 25-30 minutes of cardio, I don't have to complete it. I don't want to let myself get in a rut of demanding more and more time for working out all the time. I think 6 hours a week is respectable and I am happy with that. Sometimes I'll do a little extra on the weekend just for enjoyment, but other than that, I don't want to get in a rut where I start feeling guilty for doing "only" an hour. I enjoyed Cardio Kicks, but it took me a while to get some of the moves. I'll have to try it again on its own some time.

Did Power Circuit/Step Heat combo on Ab hits at the end. All in all a good workout and I'm feeling pretty energized today.

Now if I could just get my weight down. I seem stuck for the past while.

I have been following the rotation this week except I took Wednesday as my rest day. Last night, I did S&H shoulders and MIC (hi/lo), and then this morning I planned to do S&H chest and Cardio Kicks, but I only did S&H chest and PowerHour abs. I got up at 5:15, but I forgot how long S&H chest is. I ran out of time, so I will have to do Cardio Kicks tonight. That is the first time this week that I have broken up the weights and cardio, but I guess that's the way it goes.

I have really been enjoying doing the weights first and then cardio. I definitely feel stronger for the weights, and I like doing only one body part a day. I am looking forward to Biceps and IMAX 2 tomorrow. On Sunday, I may have to add some cardio to the Tricep and Ab work, but I like to do more on weekends when I have time.

So far this is a pretty cool rotation!

Hey Sandra - I know what you mean about running out of time. I didn't do all of Cardio Kicks because I refuse to go too much over an hour, especially during the week. I like my hardest workouts to be on the weekends usually, but am making an exception because I thought it would be fun to try a rotation for a change.

I, too, like the one body part per day - especially with Slow & Heavy because it can be very long otherwise. When I was doing it before, I use to do the whole slow & heavy on Sat/Sun - with two long sessions, and then I'd do cardio & Power Hour or something during the week.

I find the chest one hard because there are so many reps and it feels like you are doing all almost the same exercise - do you know what I mean? With shoulders, you are focussing more on the anterior, posterior, lateral, etc., that it feels like you are working different areas. With the chest (I find biceps like this too) I find it super long and super concentrated. But I made it through (except for those darned push-ups!)

I am back checking in here. It's ok punky, everyone seems to be finding this. I skipped the rest day and got back on the rotations with chest and all. I too find this section too long. Cathe always seems to work chest and triceps very long. I don't mind triceps, but I am a swimmer and really don't need all the chest. I did do the push-ups full body today, a first for me. Cardio kicks is fun as always and I really felt my abs on the drills because of power hour abs. On to the next day!!

Yes, I agree that out of all of the S&H vids, the Chest workout for me requires the most concentration. And I don't really like to work chest. I attempted the push-ups without much success on my knees. I can't handle them after all that intense chest work.

I noticed Dorothy's comments about when doing Cardio Kicks after Power Hour abs, how much she felt the burn in her abs. I hope I still feel it this evening when I get around to doing Cardio Kicks.

I haven't checked in for a while so I will just start with todays w/o I did ps biceps and me biceps I haven't done cardio today and don't think I will.I have done 2 pretty intense cardio this week blast only from imax 2 and bc cardio on mon. tues -steamin cardio wed- imax 1 blast only and 5 min. of firm cardio thurs-firm cardio.I just can't do the same instructor for a whole week.
I have always loved working one body part a day you can really bring your strengh up esp. the small muscles just like this morn.I did biceps well usually by the concentraion curls I can only do 5 with 20lbs and have to use the other hand to assist.BUT not today it was every rep with no help so I will move up to a heavier wt.I should have today I always try to lift heavier so I can't complete all the reps.But that just shows you how fatigued your smaller muscles get working the bigger ones .
 
Hi everyone. I did S&h chest, powerhour abs and skipped the warm up in Cardio Kicks. I didn't have time for the last uppercuts and the cool down. I think I'm going to figure out the times on this rotation so I can plan better. I usually only have a hour too. The chest work is a little long, but I didn't mind it. I went lower than cathe on almost all of it. I made it thru about 5 of the full push-ups and then had to go down to my knees.:( I must be getting in better shape, because Cardio kicks was alot easier than I remember. Not that it's easy though.:+
 
Hi guys,
I did Saturdays workout today and plan to do Fridays tomorrow. I really like Imax 2 so I enjoyed doing my S&H biceps and the Imax2 intervals 1-6, I also did Powerhour abs at the end. I also have about 1 hour maybe a smidgen more on the weekdays to workout, that is why I switched these two workouts. I also plan to switch my rest days next week because I don't like to get up at 4 am two days in a row to workout. I think I really like breaking S&H down into body parts because it makes it easier to do for me. Hope everyone is enjoying their rotation. Till tomorrow....Phyllis:)
 
Hi everyone! The rest day yesterday really did me good. I was so energized on the chest workout this a.m., did Power Hour abs then did Cardio Kicks. All in all a good workout, even though it was longer than usual.
