Does anyone count their calories? I read that for me to lose weight I need to restrict my calories to about 1600 per day but I am starving. I have increased my protein and try to eat clean but I am so hungry. Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks,
Beth

i do!

i actually end up eating around 1800... sometimes more on weekdays.. i start out with 1220 as my basic calories that i should have if i didn't workout or ride at all that day.. then add to that whatever calories i burn doing cathe.. then add to that whatever calories i burn riding.. then i get to eat bunches (well.. ok.. 1800ish calories!! that's bunches to me!) yay! lol!

i eat 6 times a day.. 3 meals and 3 "snacks".. so i'm basically eating every couple of hours or so...

make sure you are getting enough good fats.. fats make you feel full longer!

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

Good fats really DO add to the "full factor" and the best part...they don't make you fat!!! No, really...just because they are the same word doesn't mean some nuts, olive oil or avocado's are going to go straight to your thighs.

I added a tbs. of sliced almonds to one of my snacks and couldn't believe how much fuller I was!

something i've noticed: i have 1/4 cup (one serving) of pistachios for my afternoon snack.. 170 calories OR i have a bag of 94% fat free microwave popcorn... 240ish caloires.. the nuts make me feel fuller waaaaaaaaaaaay longer AND are better for me!

Counting calories is a MUST. After all is said and done, no matter your diet philosophy (high protein, low carb, whatever), still to this day it comes down to calories in vs. calories out. Always will.

You've gotten some good suggestions on feeling fuller. Proteins and good fats. Also, non-starchy veggies by the handfuls. I've been know to polish off pounds of raw brocolli in a week. :)
