Cabs n' abs ---> Merry Christmas Eve, darlings!

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, my Cabalicious friends! http://www.kidcorral.ca/forum/images/smilies/hello.gif

Merry Christmas! http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/images/smilies/santa2.gif http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/images/smilies/santa2.gif http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/images/smilies/santa2.gif

I do foresee a few CABS in my future this evening. As per tradition of the past 30+ years, the whole clan (well, the ones that live on THIS side of the Atlantic) heads to my aunt's for Christmas Eve dinner. My cousin's wife is a mean mixologist who last year kept plying me w/ a bottomless, new libation: the cheesecake martini. http://forums.s2kca.com/images/smilies/martini.gif Good Lord! Did I get looped! It was one of those things where every time you turned away, your glass was refilled. Slept like one of little 7.9 oz. Baby Jesus's lambs. http://www.vpsingles.com/pics/snoring.gif

Since the ski trip cuts into this week and the beginning of next, I didn't really have a solid plan but have come up with this:

Today: run or EXT followed by a yoga session
Tomorrow: PUB
Wed: PLB
Thurs - Sat: full days of skiing
Sun - half day of skiing
Mon.: OFF (we get home at 1 or 2 am...high point of the day: I have a hot stone massage scheduled for that afternoon!!)

I'm thinking I might make the rest of that first week in January a recovery week -- maybe just do yoga. But I'm not certain. I suppose I'll just go with whatever I feel like doing at the time.

I am toying around with a heavy weight/HIIT rotation to begin on the 7th:

WEEK ONE
M: yoga or stretch
T: GS BSB + abs
W: 20 min. HIIT on the EXT
R: GS CT + abs
F: 20 min. HIIT on the EXT
S: GS Legs + abs
S: SS run

WEEK TWO
M: yoga or stretch
T: 20 min. HIIT
W: PUB + abs
R: 20 min. HIIT
F: PLB + abs
S: SS run
S: abs + cardio of choice or REST

WEEK THREE
M: yoga or stretch
T: CXT back & biceps + abs
W: HIIT on the EXT
R: CXT chest & triceps + abs
F: HIIT on the EXT
S: CXT legs & shoulders + abs
S: SS run

WEEK FOUR
M: yoga or stretch
T: HIIT
W: MM#1 u/b only (42 min.) + abs
R: HIIT
F: MM #3 lower body only + abs
S: SS run
S: abs + cardio of choice or rest

The HIIT will most likely be done on the EXT and will be modeled after the BFL recommendation:

Again, any suggestions or feedback would be MOST appreciated! :) :) :)

So, what are all y'all up to today?

Edited to fix a typo

Good Morning Cabbers!

It's Christmas Eve, ladies! Have y'all been good? Santa Clause has been watching, you know!!! ;) }( :7

Cathy: I love your new rotation idea and seriously think you should give it a go! Now that you have the EXT the cardio portion will be so easy to take care of with all of the Cathe weight work outs I see you've taken care of the "variety to alleviate boredom" part of it!:) LOL at the Cheesecake martini story! They sound soooo darned yummy! I'm sure I'll have a few libations myself this evening but nothing quite so fancy. :p

So for today I am considering either Cardio Core, Core Syn, or UML plus a cardio add-on: perhaps a run. I am upping my cardio for the remainder of the year to fight back against the holiday treats. I hope it works!

Well, off to refill the coffee cup!

BBL!

Merry Christmas Eve Girls!!!

Amanda came over last night and helped me wrap presents. I am grateful for her help. I still have a few more to go and I need stocking stuffers! I can't believe I have to go shopping today. I'm always (well usually) done with shopping and wrapping long before this day arrives.

I've decided to do Bodymax (original) this morning. I'm also baking cookies and making peanut clusters to take to my parents house tonight. Jerod is very excited. My oldest brother and his family will be there as well as my nephew and his family. (They usually spend xmas in Wyoming at my brothers.) It should be a great time. My brother did talk to me yesterday about my dad's will, does he have one, where is it etc. My dad is 80 and my stepmom is not in good health, you just never know what might happen.

I've decided to purchase a rec ctr yearly membership for myself-for the rec ctr nearest my house. I can take many of the classes for free, as well as use the rest of the facility. I will also get the lower price on the classes I have to pay for (bootcamp, meltdown). My company subsidizes our membership at the rec ctr near work, but I don't think I will be able to use it as much with the new position they have me doing.

Cathy-I think your rotation looks great. I'm even copying for my own use. Zoo lights-the Denver Zoo puts up thousands of lights and you can walk throught the zoo and enjoy them. It's like $9 to get in and its usually very cold at night. We also have the Denver Botanic Gardens and they do the same thing. BTW-the wii is so much fun. DS Zach bought one and the whole family loves it. When other family members come over we play. They actually have a fitness pad that you stand on and exercises to follow along to.

Wendy-Is Joey excited??? I know I am. I'm feeling a little stressed but not too bad. I'm fighting the urge to go to Target now because I know if I don't get my workout in this morning, it won't get done at all.

Angie-Hope you have a wonderful xmas eve and Christmas!!! I'm not sure if I'll have time to check back in.

Laura-Are you back yet? Did you come home a big winner??? I certainly hope so.

Have a very Merry Christmas,

Diana

Diana: Good luck shopping today! I hope you get everything done w/o stressing too much. Sounds like you and Amanda have really been bonding over the last several months. That's so nice. :) So is the rec ctr membership going to be your "Christmas present" to yourself? }( What did you ask Santa for this year? ;)
Yes, Joey is excited. We opened some gifts at my mom's house last night. He had a great time. More gifts tonight, more gifts tomorrow and then the last of the gifts on Saturday! His Christmas will be a week long! Lucky kid, ey? LOL

Bodymax is history. I'm off to hit the shower, then to target, then bake cookies and make peanut clusters..... I better get a move on!

Cathy-Cardio Fusion is the bonus DVD. It's a compilation of drill max, lic, and bodymax2. It has some premixes on it too. My fav-the mix and max 80 min cardio is lic bonus cardio, 6 drill max cardio drils, Bodymax2 cardio 2x (no breakdown) and finally the bodymax2 power circuit segments. I burned 811 calories yesterday. I burned 812 cals today doing bodymax original.

Wendy-Yeah, I've decided that I'm going to have to use my neighborhood rec ctr more and it would be worthwhile to have a membership.

Merry Christmas again ladies.

Diana

Hey girls!

I am back, but I have not worked out yet. Would you believe I am not feeling well? Started feeling kinda cruddy this morning and hoped it would pass. I'm sniffly and queasy and coughing. WTH. So, I may just opt for SM today, no cardio.

Thanks for the rotation feedback!! I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to know you gals approve.

Diana :: I went shopping again today, too, though I didn’t need to. I had to run out to the bank and wound up stopping by K-mart and Sports Authority. Picked up a ski boot bag for $4.47!!! That way, I don’t have to pack ‘em in my suitcase…So I trust Amanda’s feeling good…I’m glad to hear that…very nice on the rec center membership…I hope things change at work, so you can get even more use out of it. *lol* about the zoo lights…I thought it was some new-fangled style of lights for the house. :7 :7 :7

Wendy :: so what did you opt for, workout-wise? I am not really a fancy-CAB person myself. You know me -- I'm simple. I like my CL. But of course, it's rude to decline when the hostess has already poured you a drink. 12 times. *hic* :+ :+ :+

Angie :: you must be runnin' around today. Miss ya!

Hi Laura and Nancy!

Holy crazy cardio batman! What was I thinking!?!? }( }(
I opted for Core Cardio from the Masters series and then added on the cardio only from HSC and HSTA. HOLY CR@P that was tough!!! Great cardio if you are looking to focus on HIIT and DON'T have an elliptical! Lucky you, Cathy, as you HAVE an elliptical!;)

Now that I've done that killer work out today, tomorrow I can eat that extra cookie....and serving of mashed potatoes....the cheese and crackers....some brownies....a piece of chocolate...well, you get the picture, right!? :9 :p }( :7 :9 :p }( :7

Cathy: Sending get well vibes your way! Don't feel bad! DH and I both have a cold! Mine is quite tolerable...obviously since I'm still working out but DH has an ear infection! OUCHEES!:-( You are sooo a girl after my own heart with all of the shopping you do! The only difference is I am a sucker for ONLINE shopping. Waaaay to easy to sit in the comfort of home and just shop away!}( Hmmm....perhaps I should look up the fixins for a cheesecake martini and bring 'em along tonight...DOH! }(

Thanks, Wendy! A little mind over matter is gonna have to nip this thing...Sounds like a HELLUVA workout!!!...I'm sure I will want some HIIT variety, so I'm making a mental note to combine the cardios on those two...I don't know what's in those martinis, but I'll find out. She did explain it to me last year, but uh, I forgot. :p BIL is driving tonight...}(...I need to get past this queasy feeling, so I can partake!!...Oh yeah, I do love to shop...I'm with you -- online is ideal - no parking, no crowds, and then I get to wait for a package delivery! :)

Di :: received your card today - thank you! Put a big smile on my face.

Laura :: yours, too!

OK, I just did a superquick cleaning job, so now I'm gonna do my own StretchMax, and then get showered. Have a great night!!

Merry Christmas Cabbers http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Holidays_and_Party/party-101.gif

Sorry I've been MIA but last night was a Christmas party, today was work, and tonight....yes, another one. It's all kinds of fun but whew!!

I did do PowerHour yesteday and took today as a rest day since I knew I was going to be running shy on time.

Diana - LOL about your gifts being stacked in your closet. I love to get the gifts under the tree to make it look more festive. I don't mind that the kids go bonkers with the gifts.....I just have to be more creative with the wrapping is all. I like to drive them crazy.:) It seems that there are fewer gifts under the tree this year b/c they were asking for more expensive gifts.....go figure.
Wow! You've had some killer calorie burners the last couple of days. That's awesome!
Sounds like you have a busy night but a fun one too. You really sound happy with the people around you. Have a great time with your family Di!!;-)

Cathy - I've only done CardioFusion about 3 times or so. I really don't know why that is. I might have to drag it back out again and re-introduce myself again. *lol*
Your workout schedule sounds great. I'm thinking of doing the same type of routine as well. I've been doing mostly cardio these last couple of weeks.....now it's time to blend muscle with HIIT!
Wii's are hard to get right now from what I understand. They do sound fun though.....thankfully that was not on the kids lists.
Oh no!! I hope the yucks are very short lived for you.....maybe it's just your body winding down after all this craziness. Do the airborne and take some rest girl.
Ohhhhhh.....a hot stone massage after your ski trip sounds divine! Ahhhhhhh that in itself is worth taking the ski trip for.
Did someone say cheesecake CABs???? Oh my!:9

Wendy - I would say Joey is very lucky indeed, especially with such doating (sp?) parents. Is he over his pneumonia yet?
I'm indulging in the treats a bit myself this week. I figured if I keep it at a minor roar and still continue to eat healthy meals and exercise it will be just fine.
Hmmmmmm.....Wendy it sounds like you might be mixing up some trouble tonight.}( ;) Fa..la....la....la....la!!!

OK girls......I'd better get downstairs and finish a couple of packages that I have to wrap for MIL. We'll be outta here in an hour or so for dinner at MIL's. Nothing like waiting for the last minute huh? I'll check back later when I get home to see if anyone has been back...if not.....I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas eve!!!!

Later babes

Angie

Hi Angie-We just got home from my parents house. I think there was about 35 of us there. It 's pretty crowded in their small house but we all managed. The cousins and their SO's all drew names this year and one of my nieces didn't get her gift (from amanda). Amanda and I wrapped it last night and I'm positive I took it with us over there. I counted the gifts twice but for some reason she was shorted. I was carrying in the baked treats and didn't take in the gifts. I also didn't watch all the kids open the gifts either. If we don't come across it tomorrow (or my parents don't either), I'm just going to give her money. I suspect it may have been open by someone else.

We have plenty of gifts under the tree, but just the ones for extended family. I hate it if my kids know what they are getting. As a matter of fact, if they know what something is-I take it back. There are occasions where they need to help pick something out but they cannot tell anyone else they know what it is and they have to act surprised when they open it!

Laura-I rec'd your card today. How on earth do you get your dogs to sit still so you can take a picture? They are so cute!

I need to get my overnight breakfast casserole and french toast made. I'm tired and ready to hit the sack.

Merry Merry Christmas!!!

Diana
