Susan - Thank you for the pumpkin bread recipe. You did it perfectly - I was able to unzip and open the file without a problem. Did you get your 5 mile run in?

Hi to everyone else. Where is everyone today? Up late watching the Packers last night?

In case you haven't been on Facebook lately I have to let everyone know WE WON!! :D Had to leave the game in the 3rd quarter to go to a wedding. (Everyone was already sitting down for dinner and the Bridal Party was waiting to be introduced so we cut it close.) We were winning 20-10 at that time. DD & DS stayed at the game and called me later to let me know we won. Semi-final game is on Saturday. Don't know how early I'll have to get there. I got there at 2:45 for the 4:00 game and already the prime seats were taken. It was COLD, too! Will have to dress warmer and bring the hand warmers. Maybe a thermos of hot chocolate.

Here's how my weekend went:

Friday night - All Step cardio
Saturday - Housecleaning for 2 hours at my Mom's, jumping up and down while cheering at the football game :)
Sunday - Raking leaves, putting patio furniture, grill away
Monday - Power Hour. I started with abs and went back and started with the warmup and made it through the lunges. Plan to do shoulders, bis and tris tonight.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Hi there! Yes, I did run 5 miles on Saturday. I was surprised I was not sore the next day. Sunday I raked leaves, bagged etc. and walked Ruby. Today I did Boot-Camp and am about to go back out to finish yard work.

Sue, congrats to your football for advancing! How exciting! I know how excited this town was when our girls B-Ball team made it to state and placed 2nd last year. You'd have thought we took 1st with the party here! I'll send good vibes your way that they will continue to succeed! Good job with your workouts!

Hope everyone is having a good day! Early release for us so I did not have to work. I did have to take DD in to have 3 teeth pulled. She's alright now though. At least she didn't have to go to school! Preparing her for braces!

Take care- Susan

Hi,

I couldn't get the recipes. For some reason I can't open anything on this computer.:(

On Sat. I did Peak 10 Interval, on Sun. I did muscle definition KCM both segments and today I did CC7 on my spin bike.

susan, nice job on the run. You rock! You haven't done bootcamp in awhile have you? When does your DD get braces?

Sue, congrats on the win. A thermos of coco sounds deelish. Nice job on all your workouts. I like Sat. the best.:D

Have a wonderful day.

Hello Ladies. I am happy to report that I am feeling much better.

Sue---I just purchased some spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin. I am plannig to make those quick and easy muffins one day this week. That cinnamon bread sounds good too. I have one bread maker and I haven't used it in about 10 years.....I wonder if it still works:eek: I used to bake a fresh loaf of bread every Friday evening after work. My mom is always asking me when I am going to use the bread machine again. CONGRATS on the win!!

Susan--hope your daughter continues to feel okay after getting those teeth pulled. Just one of those phases for getting ready for the braces.

I didn't exercise over the weekend. I did a lot of walking on Saturday because I had a trip planned to the outlet mall and I was feeling better so I still went. I got in plenty of walking and shopping. This morning I did Rhythmic Step for an awesome cardio return after an illnes:D

Hello Karen, Kaykay and Lala.

Hi! Thought I better check-in now before I miss my chance! Today was a 3.3 mile run and after work I will be doing some pilates. Nice weather out there this morning. Have a busy week ahead. DH is still working over-time. Another B-ball tourney this Saturday. Have to leave the house at 6:30am!

Hope you all have a good day!

Take care- Susan

Morning Ladies,

A really busy week for me, I'm off on Thurs & Friday so I'm trying to get everything done in three days. Today is a much better day, but I think I went overboard yesterday and came home exhausted. I sit at a computer, but making the brain work overtime really is taxing. LOL

My workouts where MMA Kickboxing with weighted gloves on Saturday, nothing on Sunday. P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps along with Ab Ripper X for Monday. This morning was Insanity Pure Cardio.

Got our new dishwasher installed on Saturday, and I love it. :D

Sue, Congrats to the team, when do they play again? I did stay up late to watch the Packer game and it sure was a nice change of pace to not be yelling at the tv for a change. :D Guess I could leave that to the Cowboy fans. I would opt for the cocoa too!

Susan, Yes it was a nice morning, sure glad I didn't have to dress in the winter coat. ;) Glad your dd is doing well with the teeth being pulled. I will have to check out the pumpkin bread recipe.

Karen, So have you done both of the Peak 10 workouts? Do you like them both?

heartymax, Weekends are so busy that it can be hard to get in the time for workouts. I am so lazy on weekends, that I tend to put it off. Glad you are feeling better.

Did everyone see the announcement on the shipping of the new workouts! Shipping Nov 19th.

Have a great day!

Better do a quick check in before this week gets away from me! Lots of yard work this past weekend plus a couple of 2 and 3 mi. runs. Monday was a 3.3 miler and today was super sets. This is the first week back to weights after my shoulder diagnosis and I want to take it slow...so far so good..wel,l with advil and ice that is :)

Sue, congrats on the win, and yes, I did see your post on FB! You also got in a lot of good workouts! I really like power hour. And it looks like high reps will be similar.

Laurie, have a great short week! Glad you like your dishwasher!

Susan, nice job on the running. I have a 6 miler scheduled for Saturday (according to the schedule I´m using for this race) but don´t know it I´ll do that...probably won´t

Heartymax, glad to hear you´re feeling better!
Hi Karen!

HI,

No workout yesterday or today and don't know if I will have time.

Lala, great weekend for yardwork. What beautiful days. Nice job on your runs and I am glad your shoulder is feeling good enough to do some weight work.

Laurie, one more day of work. Glad you like your new dishwasher. I am really excited to have a ship date for the new workouts. I have both of the peak 10 workout and I love them both. I will be getting the rest when they come out.

Susan, you sure are keeping busy. 6:30 yikes! Hope they win. We have 3 games of basketball next week.

Have to get going. If I do get a workout in it will be Powersculpt before supper depending on when I get home. I really need to start getting up early but my DH has been getting up to go trapping and I have to pack his lunch and make breakfast at the time I am suppose to be exercising.

The two people I liked the most went home last night on BL. They both are doing great though. What is with that dude with accent--he sure only wants to win. I hope he goes home.

HI guys! Quick check-in before I forget! Don't know what workout I'll do today. I am busy right after work but hope to do something later, maybe just the elliptical...

HI Karen, yes, the game is an hour away and their first game is at 8am. What little boy needs to play Bball at 8am?? So it looks like I'll be running my long run on Friday morning (5.5 miles). Then Saturday will be my rest day this week. I am not pleased with who is left at the ranch on BL either. The ladies don't look like they stand a chance but maybe they'll surprise us! I am tired of that Alfredo guy!

Lala, treat that shoulder well! Good job on your runs!:D

Heartymax, I too just bought a new dishwasher about 2 months ago. I LOVE it. It's a Kenmore and does an awesome job.

Have a good day ladies. Enjoy this weather while you can!

Susan

Morning Ladies,

Last weight workout before recovery week. P90X Back & Biceps and Jackie Warners Abs from Power Circuit. Really feeling the upper body today! Really pushed myself to get in as many chin-ups as I could, and I also increased the weights on some of the bicep exercises. Those biceps are toasted today. Feeling like Popeye! :D

heartymax, Love MM! We got a Maytag (DH did a lot of checking on line for quality), and it is so quiet.

Lala, So far so good, keep up the great work. It's a bummer that I won't have an opportunity to try out the new workouts. Well of course I can do the Intensity one. :D

Karen, So sorry to hear that things are getting in the way of your workouts. :( I have those workouts on my wish list at total fitness, and will hit the order button during her Thanksgiving sale! Dang on the BL, doesn't it always seem like the cut throat ones always end up staying.

Have a wonderful day!

Thought I'd get my check-in in while I have some time. Planning on doing some kind of run after school...4 miles maybe ?

Karen, you could pack his lunch the night before and set out cereal for breakfast :D:D

Susan, are you cross training, too? I am jealous of the dishwashers. Mine is over 10 years old and doesn't quite clean like it used to, but I hate to get a new one because I just think dishwashers, fridges, and stoves should last like 20 years

Laurie, enjoy your recovery week...but you usually do something, don't you...yoga, abs, some aerobic? Mine, I just do NOTHING

Hope you all have a great day

Heartymax - I hope you like the muffins. I wanted to make them on Sunday but we had so many other baked goods around the house it seemed like a dangerous thing.

Karen - I'll copy/paste the cinnamon bread recipe at the end of this post. I'd do Susan's too but I don't have time right now. Hope you are able to find time to workout. I'm behind on BL so will have to watch and see who's left.

Susan - I agree. 8 a.m. is too dang early to play basketball.

Lala - Hope your shoulder continues doing okay.

Laurie aka "Popeye" - You are funny. I want a quiet dishwasher. (whine, whine)

I finished Power Hour on Monday night and my tris are really sore today. Didn't do anything on Tuesday. This morning was Biggest Loser Cardio Max Level 1. It was tough getting up early but I'm glad I did. The next playoff game is Saturday at 3 p.m. DD is buying tickets today and we plan to leave the house at 1 to get good seats.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread
Dough:
1 cup water (120-130 Fahrenheit)
¼ cup butter or margarine, melted
3 ¼ cups unbleached bread flour
¼ cup powdered milk
1 ¼ teaspoons salt
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
Filling:
1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ cup raisins or currants (optional - we skip this ingredient)
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
Topping: (We skip the topping because it’s good without it. You may want to try it to see if you like it.)
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
Place dough ingredients in bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer (we do it in the order listed).
Select Dough setting and start machine. Keep a close eye on the process, helping to incorporate all ingredients, if necessary. (We don’t have a problem with this.)
Once cycle is complete, remove dough and on a lightly oiled work surface, roll dough into a long thin rectangle, about 16x8 inches. Brush the dough with some of the beaten egg.
Combine the filling ingredients and sprinkle evenly onto the dough and pat down gently. Beginning with a short edge, roll the dough into a log. Pinch the side seam and ends closed (to keep the filling from bubbling out) and place the log in a lightly greased 8 ½ x 4 ½ inch loaf pan. Cover the pan with lightly greased plastic wrap and allow the bread to rise for about 1 hour.
For the topping, combine the flour, sugar and cinnamon together. Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter until mixture is crumbly.
Brush the loaf with some or all of the remaining egg wash and then sprinkle the topping evenly over the loaf.
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Bake for about 45 minutes or until tested done with a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack for 7 to 10 minutes and remove from pan carefully. Some toping will be lost during this process. Cool completely on wire rack before wrapping to store.

Sue---I baked the pumpkin muffins---well, actually I used a loaf pan instead. I baked this morning and enjoy the delicious aroma as I got dressed for work. I wish I had made muffins though...it may warrant better portion control...:D They were so easy to make and taste good!

Lala---my dishwasher is 10 years old too and doesn't clean that great anymore. I want to upgrade to stainless steel. I NEED a new dishwasher but I WANT a new fridge, cooktop and oven. My current appliances are black and if I get something new i want stainless so I am not sure how it would look to have one stainless appliance and the rest black.

Laurie--My neighbor has Maytag too and she says it is sooo quiet also. My chest was sore this morning...I guess Muscle Max did me in yesterday.

Today was Hiit 40/20 and the first 10 minutes of Pyramid Wave. I thought I would introduce myself to that workout slowly. I know 40/20 is supposed to be harder than 30/30 but I definitely like it better than 30/30. My breaks are shorter in 40/20 than they were when I first started so I am getting better.

Hi there! Quick check-in today. Ran 2.5 miles and will be doing a total body strength workout from a magazine tonight. Have appointments right after work and then right after dinner have a parent/teacher conference for DS.

Tomorrow I hope to wake up early enough to get a 5.5 mile run in. Can't run Saturday cause of the tournament. It's suppose to rain early morning so I want to be home before it hits!

Lala, yes, I am cross-training too. I run Tues,Thurs and usually Saturday and other days I cross train with one day of rest!

Have a good day everyone!

Susan

Heartymax - I'm glad you liked the pumpkin bread. They never last long in our house. I like Pyramid Wave the best of the 3 HIIT. It's not as high impact as 30-30. 40-20 is my least favorite. Always have to add more breaks with that one.

Susan - Great job on your running. You inspired to do a little jog/walk this morning.

I walked a mile outside last night while DH was making dinner. :) (That doesn't happen very often.) This morning I did 2 miles in 28 minutes. Mostly walking with a little jogging thrown in for heartrate. Felt good. Wish I could have gone longer.

We've been going crazy with treats around the office the past couple of weeks. We've had 3 birthdays so birthday treats and leftover birthday treats the next day, a United Way bake sale, leftover birthday treats from a co-worker's kids' party, leftover Halloween candy and 100 day treats from our boss to celebrate his first 100 days. That last one is not a typical thing we bring treats in for - thank goodness! Hopefully the insanity has stopped for awhile.

Hello Ladies,

Got my YogaX done this morning, and also got the family room vacuum and kitchen floor scrubbed. Oh how much fun can you have on your day off of work. :D Now I'm watching reruns of Burn Notice so I'm in a good mood to watch the season premier. ;) Need to look at some recipes so I can get some ingredients at the store for enchiladas.

Susan, Power Hour really does a number on those triceps. Looks like a good recipe. Guess that time of the year is coming around for treats at work for the holidays also. Or should I say all those pot lucks and company lunches.

heartymax, You will master those Hiit workouts in no time, you are doing a wise thing by trying them out slowly. That is what happened to our dishwasher, got to the point that I gave up using it and washed dishes by hand. We went from white appliances to black. :D My stove is still white, so I'm in that situation.;)

Lala, Our dishwasher was 15 years old, and it appears that all our appliances that we bought when we built our house are now on the fritz. Next is our washing machine, it has been repair once already. Yes I will be doing some of the P90X and Insanity recovery workouts. Yoga and stretching too.

Susan, Sounds like you are really busy the rest of this week, makes me feel guilty for sitting on my couch right now.

Have a great day!

Hi! Well, I did it! I woke up early and ran 5.5 miles without ever stopping! I was so happy when I hit my driveway I did a little happy dance!:D Just kept telling myself "Keep pushin, keep goin'". I will enjoy my rest day tomorrow and Sunday I will probably get on the elliptical in the afternoon and work my core.

Not looking forward to waking so early to get to the b-ball tourney tomorrow. I know DS is going to be hard to get up! At least this is the last tourney for a couple weeks!

Have a good weekend ladies!

Susan
