Brooks Energy Shorts

I have been wanting a pair of Brooks Energy shorts for awhile, but they are kind of expensive ($40). So, I found some at Sierra Trading Post for half price.

I just had to post these are the best shorts ever. Not too tight or too loose. I used them to run tonight and there was no riding up whatsoever and I usually have this problem more than not with shorts. These are great and they look cute too. Just wanted to share my good find.

Does anyone else have and like these shorts??

I just wanted to thank you for this post. I ordered 2 pairs for myself as your description was just what I have been hunting for forever. I got them - and they're perfect! I may order some more.

Randi, I am so glad that you like them. Can you also believe how "cheap" they are? They are more than half off!!! They are the most comfortable shorts I have worn in a long time. I wore them this weekend when I did my run and normally I am pulling at my shorts the whole time x( . I didn't touch these. I love them. Now, should I order more }( ?

Karin/Randi - are these true to size or do they run big/small? What size are you normally and what size did you order? TIA

Hi Julie. Here is the some sizing info I found for Brooks merchanise.

Size: XS(4) S(6-8) M(8-10) L(12-14) XL(16)

Small - waist 24-25, hips 36-37
Medium - waist 26-28, hips 38-40
Large - waist 29-31, hips 41-43
X-large - waist 32-34, hips 44-45

I ordered both the medium and the large and kept the medium and I usually wear a 10 or 12 in pants.

Karin I just saw this thread and it couldn't have come at a better time. I have been on the hunt for shorts forever. My Nike are more like boy shorts and I don't like the way they ride up when I run. Then I have others that are loose but then my undies move. These look perfect. I am going to give these a try. How can I not for the price. Thanks.

Hi ladies. I promise that I rarely ever recommend anything because it makes me nervous, but these shorts (IMO) are great and I just had to share. I have never owned a short that didn't ride up to some extent when I ran. So, you can imagine when I tried these and they didn't ride up that I was jumping up and down for joy. I hope that you all like them as well. Let me know.

I'm just glad that I won't be pulling at my shorts in the 10K I am running on Memorial Day. For my luck the race photographer would have caught that lovely moment on film :eek: .

I ordered two pairs as well. Karin - I noticed it said "closeouts". Does that mean that we're out of luck when they run out? As soon as I get them, I'll have to decide whether to stock up.

Do they fit like biker shorts? Just curious since you said they are not too tight or too loose. Thanks for the link...I ordered both, in navy & black.

I wouldn't say they fit like bike shorts. The bike shorts I have are very tight and fitted and there is elastic on the legs at the bottom of the short so that they don't move. These shorts looser than that, but without being sloppy and but tight enough to stay in place. Also the legs have no elastic at the bottom either like my bike shorts do. Does this help at all???

Yes, that helps a lot. That is what I was hoping...that they fit a bit looser then bike shorts! GREAT! Now, I just hope I ordered the right size! Thanks for all your help.

Hi Julie. I think that it is true that once they are gone, they are gone from STP. I do think that Brooks is still selling the energy shorts, but they are probably the updated 2006 version (that costs $40) and they are just trying to get rid of these older model versions. So, I think if you want more that this price you should decide pretty quickly. Just my $.02 since you asked.

Thanks Karin - that's what I thought. I just want to make sure I got the right size before I order more. I got an email saying they were shipped - hopefully they'll get here quick!
