brazillian butt lift

Cathlete
have any of you heard of these workouts? are they worth buying or are they traditional exercises you could do at home? thanks

I have the Brazil Butt Lift workouts (vs. Brazilian butt lift, which is a plastic surgery procedure) and I like them. They definitely hit the right spots! And in spite of the pain they cause:confused:, they have a low dread factor.

The instructor is very enthusiastic, and a bit over-the-top at times, but it's obvious he knows his stuff.

The workouts are all fairly short (30-40 minutes, with one 15-minute ab workout), but they pack quite a punch in that time: there's no downtime, and you move from one exercise to the next without spending too much time on any one.

There are lots of squat and lunge variations, without feeling like you're doing a lot of squats and lunges.

I found several of the exercises surprisingly challenging, because they require balance and coordination. I have DBDOMS (deep butt DOMS, LOL!) after pretty much every workout, but they don't just work the glutes: I notice that my knees feel more stable since starting the program (the balance moves, I presume, help work the stabilizing muscles around the knee).

I'm not sure about the question as to whether these are traditional exercises "you could do at home"? It IS an at-home workout system. There are a lot of ballet-inspired moves, but it's not boring (at least IMO) like a barre workout can be.

If you're looking to work your glutes without overworking the quads, like the results of barre work but might not like barre workouts, and feel like you need some help with the bum-bum (pronounced "boom boom"), I'd say you might find the workouts worth it.

Personally, I find they are worth it to me (but I just got the basic kit: for me, the add-ons in the deluxe kit weren't worth it).

HTH!

The Sculpt workout in the Basic set is a total body workout. It's not as upper body intense, but it moves at a quick pace w/ no wasted set up time. He often combines a lower body move w/ an upper body move so your core & balance are called into play. It also has ab and lower back work. You get a lot done in 50 minutes.

Feel free to pm me for more info. (I am LOVING this series....:))

I have Brazil Butt Lift and I totally agree with Kathryn's assessment. The program is super effective and fun. It definitely targets the glutes and I had glute DOMs after the workouts. The music is fun, Leandro is encouraging and knowledgeable. There is no wasted time, no dread factor ( I look forward to the workouts) and he gets the job done within 30-40 minutes.

Karlev- there is one total body sculpt workout that includes upper body work. I personally add additional upper body work during the week

I personally like that the program includes customized workout plans for people with different glute problems. ie flat, saggy, too large etc. After I complete the rotation I plan to use individual disc as leg workouts.

I highly recommend Brazil Butt LIft. I began to see results by the end of the second week!

I am interested in this workout. My bum is my weak spot.

How much equipment do you need? Does it take up a lot of space?

I can no longer do Cathe workouts - teenage son took my workout room. So I"ve been relegated to running (which I mostly do treadmill when it's this cold) - I'm looking for something different.

Does it also target the upper butt area below the waist? I'm getting a roll there that totally annoys me.

Can I use BBL as my lower body w.o.?

Since I rarely do heavyweight leg workouts anymore (they bulk me up in thigh area & I just don't enjoy them), I was thinking of subbing some of the BBL wos for the Legs in STS cardio/strength rotation. What do you guys think??

I really want to use these, but since I got SC I've put them on back burner, but maybe I don't need to...

Are these weighted or non-weighted glute exercises?? What's the ratio of floor vs standing? Are they knee-friendly??

so you guys have or are seeing good results with these? I cant seem to get rid of the cottage cheese in the saddle bag area and under neath the butt.

There are several no-equipment workouts (Bum Bum, Bum Bum Live and Bum Bum Express, which are focused on the glutes; Cardio Axe, a cardio workout; and an ab workout). There is a full-body weight workout, and the "High and Tight" workout has two segments using resistance loops (one standing, the other floor) and one segment using ankle weights.

It's a very space-friendly series. The most you would need is enough room to do a forward and back lunge series and lunges side to side.

I find them very knee friendly. In fact, I think the 1-legged balance type movements in the Bum Bum workout especially are good for knee stability: I noticed that after doing a few of these workouts, I didn't have any complaints from a sometimes complaining knee when I went down my basement stairs. YMMV however.

OK I just got mine in the mail today and did the Bum Bum workout and it kicked my "bum bum." I thought I was in pretty good shape too! I really like it. It's completely different from any other workout I have. So it, mixed with some Cathe weight workouts, should make a great rotation! I can't wait to do the other workouts in the series!!! :)

I know what you mean!
These workouts seem to hit muscles I never knew I had!
(I'm focusing on the "Bum Bum" and "High and Tight" workouts, because I have more of a flat butt right now!)
I think that people who do barre work might find quite a few of the moves familiar, but I've never really gotten into barre, and Leandro makes it palatable for me.

Hi Stephanie,

Yay! I'm glad your set arrived safely and you enjoyed your intro to Leandro and BBL!! :)

Please let me know if you need anything or have any questions.

I used to be a ballet dancer and this workout focuses on many of the muscles that dancing did... With the addition of a kabillion squats!

Joan-Thanks so much for all of your help!!

I got my package 2 days ago. I only got a chance to do it this morning. I did "Bum Bum". I did not have enough time to do "Tummy Tuck" since I had to take my daughter to the rink. Her school closed due to snow. Wow, what a workout. When I previewed it, it did not look that difficult. However, when I did it this morning, whew, it made me sweat. 30 minutes burnt me over 300 calories. Unless running in treadmill, I hardly could burnt over 300. I did Shaun T Hip Pop Abs Tue. It only burnt 247 in 30 minutes. Though I did a lot of lung, squat, I did not have knee problems this time. I think this program did not let you keep doing one move in one position. It constantly in a move. It required not just strength, but balance. I really look forward to the rest of DVDs. I also got the basic package.

Joan, thank you so much for helping me.

OK, so I did the Cardio Axe and High and Tight workouts tonight, and I could hardly walk (or sit) afterward. Yowza. My butt is saying "WHAT THE???" LOL Yay!!! But I'm having some Cathe withdrawals, so tomorrow it's upperbody weights.

Just think, by summertime, we'll all have beautiful Brazilian fannies to show off in our bikinis (as if I'd EVER wear a bikini again)... :)

I just got mine yesterday and can't wait to try it. Looking forward to something new and different - including a new and different arse:p

Hi Daisy,

Isn't Bum Bum a surprising sweat fest for how short it is?! He just never stops! The balance work is hard for me--I really notice how much more coordinated I am in my right leg vs. my left leg.

I'm glad you enjoyed the workout and hope you like the others. Let me know if you need anything else. :)
