Anyone else HATE peanut butter?

I used to eat it all the time. Then both my babies were allergic. So I never ate it or had it in the house etc. But about 6 months ago I had a tablespoon for protein and thought I would vomit. It was sooooo fatty and greasy. Never again. :eek::eek::eek:

OK, just kidding, I know plenty of folks who can't stand it, and I have been led to believe that the European Union may have an official anti-peanut butter stance.

Personally, I think it might be the world's most perfect food. In fact, I'm going to go have some right now!
 
Yes, yes, I now hate it -- ever since I switched to natural PB! I LOVE Jiff but I haven't bought it in over a year because of all the bad stuff in it, but the natural stuff is godawful IMHO! It totally cured my of my addiction. I mean, I'd rather just eat a handful of nuts. NPB is kind of like eating nuts that have already been chewed. Blech, ICK, Ewwwwwww! :p :eek: :rolleyes:

MMMMM......Peanut butter. I used to be a JIF addict, but then I found Naturally More PB and fell in love. It's a bit better for me, too. I personally think PB should be its own food group. I do believe I eat PB everyday, even if its just a small spoonful out of the jar. Have you tried cashew, almond, soy nut butter? Or is it just the idea of ground up, smushed up, proccessed nuts that grosses you out? Is it the taste or texture? It took me 30 years to figure out that I really don't like bananas - the texture is funny. Bananas in things are ok, but a plain banana - gag!!!!

Of course, I'm of the opinion that anything that contains the word "butter" is good. Peanut butter, butter cookies, all butter pound cake, butter brickle, hot buttered rum :)

PB Lover here! I love the Natural kind (with salt of course) the best, but still love the more processed kinds too. I can't keep it in the house, I'll eat half the jar at a time.
 
Yes, I hate it. Most of all I hate the organic ones that I cannot keep my knife out of! You are so lucky to hate PB. I swear I would weigh 5 lbs. less without the stuff because it's one of the few high-fat foods I just cannot get enough of. Saturday I think I ate about 20,000 calories in PB alone in addition to my 3 meals. :confused:

PB and ice cream are my two biggest enemies. Other than that, I'm all about fruits and veggies and lean proteins. So YES, I hate the stuff. For different reasons, but hate is hate. ;) Apparently, however, I don't hate it enough to throw away the jars in my refrigerator. :p
 
It is as if Nancy read my thoughts and posted them. Even looking at this thread about hating peanut butter makes me think "mmmmmmmm....peanut butter" with Homer Simpson-like drooling. Mmmmmmm. Peanut butter.
 
I like PB, but I don't necessarily love it. I think there are other, healthier nut butters (maybe you could try those, and pretend you're eating what everyone else is?). I've seen almond, macadamia, cashew (usually mixed with oil), and brazil-nut butters.
 
It's NPB for me all the way baby!! The other stuff is oily yuk:confused: NPB and banana is my fav pre-w/o snack YUMMY!!
 
I HATE peanut butter! I hate the smell of peanut butter! I always know when someone is eating peanut butter because I can smell it a mile away.
 
I hope the original poster really sees this post -- no, you are absolutely not the only one. I cannot even stand the smell of it -- natural, Jif, any of the sort. It turns my stomach. I eat almond butter instead. MMMMmmmmm..........

I have a love/hate relationship with it. It's one of the few things I will binge on. I was actually happy the other day to find that my dh had put the jar back in the fridge with only about 1/2 a tablespoon left. His habit of leaving a tiny bit of stuff usually drives me crazy but this time it stopped be from pigging out.
 
Can't count me in here - I could eat it by the spoonfuls. In fact, yesterday it was 2 spoonsfuls and I kept wanting to go back in but was a good girl and kept it at the original 2.

I eat only Natural PB and have Skippy for DH - he tasted my NPB not too long ago and said "hey, this isn't bad". I reminded him in was without extra oils and sugar. Yes, you really can taste the peanuts that way ! :eek:
 
Oh man do I LOVE PB! In fact, when I was about 5 year olds I had a button that said "I Love PB!" and 44 year later...still love it!:p Now I buy Laura Scudder's natural pb and pour some of the oil out before I stir it up.

Peanut butter and M&Ms (together or separate, upside down or sideways) are the foods of the gods!!! :p

I WISH I disliked both, it would be easier to eat better!!!
 
I do like nuts, just not peanut butter. Like one poster said---even the smell makes me want to gag. The unfortunate thing is my kids LOVE it. We eat an industral sized container of PB monthly! :confused::confused:

Maybe I could try other butters? I haven't thougt of that. Good idea.

I also don't care for ice cream. I guess I'll save that for another post...
 
Is there something wrong with not liking peanut butter? I'm not really gaga on chocolate...and I think those Lara bars are the most disgusting things on the planet..
 
I cannot believe how many PB haters there are here? :( Not this girl, LOVE IT!! I also only buy the natural stuff. Either Smuckers with honey although I hate being the first one to open the jar & have to stir it up or Skippy's natural PB is great, more sodium though. My all time favorite quick snack is 1/2 PB sand on whole wheat bread - yummy!!
