Anyone encountered ankles and heels pain? It started about a month ago and intensified over time ...can it be that I'm wearing the wrong footwear or am I exercising to much?
Any advice would be welcome.
Footwear could be an issue. It could also be a change in your exercise routine.
I have plantar fasciitis since a couple of years now and have learned to manage the condition. I dont do my rehab stretches and exercises regularly, or perhaps I may have rid myself of it by now. Good footwear is a must for me now. Even walking around in the wrong footwear can bring back the pain, apart from intense impact cardio if I dont follow up with icing and stretching. My doc told me to use hot compress the first thing in the morning to strectch the muscles and cold after any impact session or a long walk. Following that advice and doing the exercises regularly results in almost pain-free periods.
You will find a lot of information on google about stretches and rehab. If a few days of icing (at least twice a day), rest from impact and stretches dont help you, it may be good to see a doctor to get it properly diagnosed.
Make sure to stretch the calf, in addition to Vee's excellent advice. That being said, a comprehensive diagnosis by a doctor specializing in sports medicine or a podiatrist couldn't hurt.
