Hello ladies! I hope you are both enjoying your holiday weekend! Thank you both for asking about my trip. We had a nice time! It took us about 3 1/2 hours to get there, but it was a nice ride because there weren't a lot of people on the roads. My husband's aunt hosted the shower and everything was really nice. The food was delicious!! I only knew his aunt and my future sister-in-law so it was a little uncomfortable, but most of the other people there were pretty nice. Afterwards we went back to his aunts house and hung around until about 7pm and then headed home. Her house is right near the ocean so it was beautiful! Anyway, we got home around 10:30 and crashed in bed! :)

Iris, I'm glad to hear your shoulder is still on the mend! I'm also happy to hear about your daughter's continued interest in going to church! That is great!! Just take your exercises slow and get in whatever kind of cardio you can. I thought of you yesterday because my right shoulder was killing me all day!! It felt deeper than just a muscular pain, you know what I mean? It was like the joint hurt. I feel better today but I have to take it easy myself!

Jen, how is your stomach feeling? :( I hope you are feeling better! I'm glad to hear you have your friend to support you in school! Praise God for that arrangment!

I do plan to workout today, I'm just not sure when. Overall it's a nice, relaxing day. My husband's doing some yardwork and we'd like to go for a walk later. The weather is so nice, I love it! Today's workout will be "Burn it Up" (minus the shoulder work!) and Slim & Limber.

Christine, glad to hear you had a nice time at the shower. I know what you mean about it being awkward when you don't really know anybody. I feel the same way when I'm in that position.

Definitely be careful with your shoulder. You never realize how much you put on them until they act up. I know the doctor found I have calcium deposits in my rotary cuff area, but I can't help but feel I really did aggravate it with all of the heavy lifting in STS. It so happened that my injury occured right after I completed the heaviest lifting of the entire sysem. I was thinking back, and even during Squat Rack Legs, my shoulders took quite a beating when doing squats and deadlifts with the barbell loaded at it's heaviest. I still feel dissapointed because I really enjoyed doing STS, but of course now, having suffered through this pain, I am not looking forward to lifting heavy again anytime soon.

I feel kind of sore today from my cardio at the gym on Saturday and yesterday's Tae-bo workout that had tons of leg work in it, so I'm going to take it easy today. My shoulder is feeling better. I can lift my arm now, even though I have quite a bit of a shake still, and of course the pain is still present, but definitely much better :)

It's just my kids and I at home today. We plan to fire up the grill later today and have ourselves a little BBQ. Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend :)

How are you all today? Yesterday, I spoke truth to a friend. Then, I remembered speaking this to him a few years ago on the same subject. It's one of those rare instances to cut ties.
Today is homework and is work day.
Christine-It sounds like your trip was nice. It is uncomfortable being at a place where you hardly know anyone. Thank GOD for aunts.
Iris-glad you took a day off from working out especially with your shoulder.

Jennifer, good for you for speaking the truth! It's never an easy thing to do. I had a similar situation a few years back with a christian friend and it resulted in the end of our friendship. It was hurtful but at least I knew I spoke God's truth.

Iris, how is your shoulder today? I know you are disappointed that this happened with STS, but at least there are two other mesocycles you can enjoy! I would definitely stay away from heavy lifting though for a while. How was your BBQ? I love BBQ's!

This morning my dog and I went for a walk in the park. It is so nice out again! We walked about 3.2 miles. Today's workout is Burn it Up and Slim & Limber. I have to say, even though I like the concept of these workouts and am really toning up, I am getting bored!! LOL :D I can't believe it's week 5, so I only have this week and next, then I'm done, hoorah!

Tonight, I am considering blocking this person on the phone and online. The issue that got me mad is that I always lift this person up and I get knocked down. Then, the conversation is always about him. I believe I am drained from truly focusing on other's needs actively because of it. No apology whatsoever. I encouraged him to make new friends cause I don't plan on being around. Thanks for letting me vent.

Jen, sometimes the best thing is to cut ties completely with someone that drains us, as your friend seems too. Unfortunately, there are many people who are self-centered.

Christine, glad you're enjoying the Slim series :) I hear those workouts are going to be re-filmed again. I wonder what's going to change the next time around.

I still have shoulder pain, but I am able to move my arm pretty normally now. I am definitely happy about that. I went to the gym today and did 50 minutes of cardio on the Ellip. & TM. My favorite KB class was going on while I was there, and I was soo tempted to join the class, but I know I need more time to recover. It's definitely not a good idea for me to start punching with that right arm yet. Tomorrow I will probably do "Bodystrikes". That's a lower body workout (no weights), but has good cardio too.

Christine, looks like we're getting rain for the rest of the week. Are you guys getting the same type of weather by you?

Iris, I totally agree. I have had friends in the past that drained me just as much. When my neice passed away, he couldn't help or wouldn't so it was quiet for a long time.
Please take care of your shoulder, does your doc suggest heat or cold? Take it easy.
Christine. I love walking!! That is my summer thing. Where I live, you almost need a dog or a child to connect here but I am accepted.

Hi Iris! I'm happy to hear you were able to resist your KB class, I know how hard that can be! In the past I've jumped back into things too quickley and it never ended well. In no time you will be back to lifting and punching! :) It's been overcast here all day too and we are supposed to get rain the rest of the week. I heard they're refiliming Slim too, but I'm not sure why. If I had to guess I'd say it's because the instructor doesn't move to the beat of the music, her rep count is waaaaaay off and she doesn't work each side equally. In addition, some of her back up partners have really bad form! It's a bit frustrating but I've been able to get past it by doing my own rep counting so I know I work each side equally. (For example, in one section where she does side kicks, she does 20 on one side and only 12 on the other! The same goes for the lunges and stuff) Perhaps they're going to fix all that!

Jennifer, how is your week going?

Today is an off day for me. My muscles are so sore and exhausted. I might put off my running program until I'm done with SI6, which is next week. The running plus the daily workouts I think are a bit much for me. I will continue to walk though.

Hello Christine & Jen,

I am having a bit of an off day today. I am feeling sore & achy. Hopefully, I'm not coming down with anything. My son Nathan stopped by on Monday, and he was really sick. He ended up going to the hospital yesterday, and had to have an IV drip, and some other meds. They don't know if it was food poisoning, or just a really bad virus, but I'm just hoping I stay healty. Plus my daughter has a cold too.

I tried working out today, but I just don't have much energy. I swapped DVD's 3x, and ended up stopping altogher after 30 minutes or so. I hate feeling this way. I feel like the longer I am away from my workouts, the harder it will be to get back to where I was :( But, I know I have to take care of myself too. I had another stressful day at work, and I'm sure that's a big part of why I felt soo drained.

Jen, hang in there at work. I know how tough it can be.

Christine, I was wondering myself why they were refilming SI6, but I'm sure they will be even better :) I hope you enjoyed your rest day today, and I think you're wise to skip the running for now :)

Next Monday, our new CEO starts at work but I don't believe the tide of change will happen for a long time. I believe I will have a new position by that time. Also, I believe there will be some organizational changes like personnel. Thank GOD, I'm in school for a new career in another industry. I have faith in HIM that life will get better.

Jen, you're right is will get better! Just keep focused on school and know that He has a wonderful plan for you!

Iris, how is your son feeling? How are you feeling today? I hope you didn't catch what he had! Do you have more energy today? Don't beat yourself up over rest time. When was the last time you took a good week off from everything (a full week straight)? I find that when I get the most burned out or injured is when I've been working out for several months straight with no break. I know you had the "recovery" weeks with STS, but you really weren't resting. Don't feet bad about having some time off, your body will thank you! Then you can get back into things healthy and energized! I have no doubt that you will get back to where you were in no time!

Today was a 3.2 mile walk and Burn it Up/Slim & Limber. My pedometer said I already walked over 10,000 steps today, hooray! I've never made it to, or over, 10K! Off to cook dinner. I got this yummy recipe from Rachael Ray called "Ceasar Salad Pasta". I hope it comes out okay!! :p

Your salad sounds good, I don't think you can go wrong with Rachel Ray. I love ceasar salads though like Panera Bread's. 10K steps sounds wonderful. I will walk on Saturday and maybe Friday night, it is cold and rainy here now.
Iris, are you ill? Enjoy your time off from working out and going to work. HE gave us rest for a reason.

Hello Christine & Jen,

Today was a little better. I was able to do 40 minutes on the elliptical, and 15 minutes on the TM. It's better than nothing, but I don't know how much longer I can do this kind of cardio. I find it soo boring, lol.

Work was busy today, especially since I'm off tomorrow. My daughter's dance rehearsal is tomorrow, and her recital is on Saturday, so I decided to take the day off altogether.

Christine, you're right. I can't remember when was the last time I took a whole week straight from working out. I put pressure on myself to workout even when I go on vacation. This time when I go to FL in July, I'm going to just enjoy myself. I'll look at all the walking as my workouts. To bad Cathe's travel workout isn't out yet. That was a lot of walking Christine. You did good :)

My son is back to normal, thank god. The IV and injections they gave him helped him bounce right back.

Jen, hang in there, it's good that you have a vision for your future. That'll help you get through all of the tough times :)

Myself, I normally don't do indoor workouts when it's nice outside during the summer months. The warm weather doesn't last very long.

It's a beautiful day today.

I figured I'd take a minute to post while my daughter is getting dressed for her dance rehearsal. So far I've enjoyed my day off. I caught the Transformers movie with my friend. Definitely not my kind of movie. Lots of action, but I have no idea what the storyline was, lol.

No workout for me today, due to lack of time, but I hope to be able to get in a descent cardio workout tomorrow.

Christine, how did your dinner turn out yesterday? That sounded like a yummy recipe alright. I love anything ceasar.

Iris, I'm so glad you're enjoying your day off! Hooray for your 3 day work week and 3 day weekend to look forward to! :) How was your daughter's rehearsal? I used to dance Jazz & Ballet when I was younger, I loved it! Glad to hear your son is feeling better and that you didn't catch his illness! My hubby and I want to see the Night at the Museum sequal. One of these days we will get to the movies. We like going to the drive-in when the weather is nice. We always get some yummy, greasy burgers and fries and head out to the drive-in! :)

Jen, I love being outdoors when the weather is nice too! The winters always seem so long and cold that we have to take advantage of being outdoors in the nice weather! I love walking but also hiking and riding bikes (NOT the kind with an engine, LOL). My husband and I did a lot of that last spring. I hope you get some nice walking time in this weekend!

Today's workout was Burn it Up & Slim & Limber. No walk though because I kept thinking it was going to rain. I am getting so bored now doing the same video, but am encouraged by the results. I lost another pound, woo hoo! I also notice a huge difference in my waist/hips. One more week to go!! I do want to get the rest of the "Slim Series" so I can eventually continue. This type of training really, really works well for my body!

Oh, the dinner came out SOOO YUMMY!!! :) I love anything ceasar too! I definitely have to put it on our "favorites" list. I get nervous when I try new things, but it came out well. We both had left overs for lunch today too, so that was good!

HE has given me an interesting life. A person confessed something to me a couple of weeks ago, I encouraged this person not to do it again. On my way home from a graduation party, I seen this person driving to the area 50 minutes from this person's home so in order to protect the other party, I called silent observer. The timing was uncanny. HE prompted me to contact the other party or the authorities so the authorities were contacted. The graduation party was great, I seen my old BSF leader and an old client. The graduate will be attending the new infamous Taylor University and will be spending one semester in Ireland.

Hi Iris! I hope you are enjoying the weekend too! How was your daughter's dance recital? Were you able to get in some cardio today?

Last night, out of nowhere, I developed a really bad sore throat - but only on my right side. This morning it felt a little better, but not 100%. I decided to take an "OFF" weekend from all workouts, my body really needs it. Plus I don't want to push myself if I'm getting sick. I did get some yardwork done though, so that was nice. I pruned a bunch of bushes in our front yard. They line our house and were growing out of control. They were like that when we moved in last year but we had too much going on to worry about them then! I also cleaned out my cats' litter boxes. I am beat now and ready to relax.

Went to Christian Singles Event, great party but I wasn't into it.
Christine, glad you are taking the weekend off from the workouts. The intervention of what HE had me do was to stop something becoming progressively worse. The relationship I ended this past week, that person confessed to driving up to a woman's house and parking his car on her street. I encouraged him not to do that ever again for possible arrest and restraining orders. etc.. He stated to me he wouldn't. He lied big. I believe this person has lied to me many times in the past now. Also, I asked my neighbors to call the authorities if he drives on the street.
