Well it's finally here!
On Tuesday, Scott and I will head out to SUNY in Albany NY for the tournament. He is registered in the Mens 19 - 34 yo Intermediate division. He will be in the Kata (floor exercise), Kubodo (weapons) and Kumite (sparring) events. He chose Sai as his weapon (remember the movie Elektra?)
The AAU has been very responsive to our needs. When I sent his application in I attached a letter in the package citing my concerns of his autism and the pre match staging. Sometime he "meditates" and misses his divisions call. The AAU will give me a pass to be in the staging area so I can prompt him to follow his division. The AAU actually called to make sure I had him in the right events, they have physically challenged divisions. I told them that once he got to the "ring" he would be fine, it was just the transitioning that would go astray.
His events are on Wednesday and Thursday, I'll keep you posted.
