30 Minutes of Cardio

Hi, Cathe (and all!). The reason that I've put off buying CTX and pre-ordering the four-day split, is that I have it in my head that 30 minutes of cardio (including the warm-up) isn't long enough to reap the benefits. Am I wrong? Thanks!

length isn't what is important. intensity is. as long as those 30 min are spent at a high intensity then it is totally beneficial. i would much rather do 30 min hardcore intervals then 45-60 min at a steady pace. i have a feeling that the 30 min of cardio in the new videos are going to kick our butt

CTX has some of the toughest cardio that I've ever done. It's nonstop action, and I've never felt that it wasn't long enough. If you do, you can always do it twice!

Or you could do two different CTX cardio workouts back-to-back.

Different intensities of cardio have different benefits/results, so it depends on what you're looking to accomplish each workout or each rotation.

CTX is excellent. I love having 30-minute cardio available to me. Right now I'm doing 30-minute cardio workouts first thing each morning, then a weight training workout later in the day, so I've purposely pulled out every 30-minute cardio I own, including CTX.

Edited to add: I also LOVE Cathe's premixes from her other workouts that give me 30-40 minute cardio workouts.

Some of us (myself included) have found that our bodies respond better to more heavy weight training and short but intense cardio sessions. I know I drop more weight this way (with 3-4 30-minute cardio sessions per week) than that many (more more) 60-minute sessions.

There are going to be premixes for the new dvd's that combine the 2 cardios on each dvd. I combine the CTX cardio sections all the time--it's easy for me to do with a multi-disc player, but you could always switch dvd's with a single player--or even repeat some of the cardio sections, the CTX cardio sections are chaptered well & you can do that easily. I hope that helps!

Hi Joanne!

Thanks -- I sure missed it, too. I still cling to my RT '05 pictures.

I'm sure you had a great time.

this is exactly how i'm noticing my body to respond. not to mention, 60 min of intense cardio just exhausts me. i'd rather save that energy for weights.
