How about some happy dog stories? (Long)

Laura! Oh my goodness! Isn't it amazing how ridiculously fearless dogs are sometimes? Greta and Afreet are not afraid of anything that could actually hurt them. But Greta is afraid of thunder and Afreet will hide under the bed if there is a housefly buzzing near the window.

How about some happy dog stories? (Long)

Awww! Mine have made it very clear to me that I'm on my own in all future conflicts if I ever try to make them wear any clothes. At all. Ever. :p

How about some happy dog stories? (Long)

At least two forum members have recently lost their canine companions. :( It got me thinking about my two little dogs and how much I will miss them when they're gone, and now I'm sad, and I was hoping to read some dog stories from happier times. How about it? Your favorite adventure with any...

    A very sad day

Oh, Cynthia! I'm so sorry! Your post made me cry! Dogs take a little bit of our hearts with them when they go, don't they? I've been reading a book about dogs in prehistoric North America. There were many groups who felt that dogs joined their humans in the afterlife. Here is one of my...

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry, but it sounds like you did the right thing. At least the little sweetie had a loving home and a happy life!

for all you dog owners out there would you?

Oh no! Hang in there! My little Greta had some sort of bacterial infection - in retrospect, the vet thought it might have been e. coli or something - and she was horribly, miserably sick for about ten days. Mostly vomiting and diarrhea, every hour on the hour for TEN. DAYS. She normally...

for all you dog owners out there would you?

Laura: Thinking of you and Lucy - so sorry you both have to go through this during the holidays. It sounds like you have a wonderful veterinarian and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys. Hoping you guys get a diagnosis of "bad bladder infection" for Christmas/Late...

    Birds/birdfeeder question

Thanks for the ideas! I can't really adjust the feeder to the appropriate collision-prevention angle, due to the particular arrangement of our window/porch/hanger situation. I am going to try a combination of suggestions: my sweetie and are are cutting out white paper snowflakes and we will a...

for all you dog owners out there would you?

Of course you must make the decision that is right for your whole family - I can't tell you what you should do - but I can tell you what (I think) I would do under the same circumstances. Please know that I am absolutely not suggesting that I know what is best, and this is just my own totally...

    Birds/birdfeeder question

OK, I know this is totally random, but I hoped someone here might have some ideas. We have a birdfeeder that we would like to hang on our back porch, but we have a huge glass window right there, and we have had birds fly into it when we keep the feeder too close. To prevent that, we have...

Birth Control - Implanon, Mirena, Tubal?

Yay! That's the word of mouth I've been hearing. I can't believe this isn't more widely advertised. It seems so simple in comparison to everything else!
