    Eggs

Well, when I was in contest prep mode, my trainer had me eating 1 whole and 16 egg whites a day. I could literally stand on the scale and watch the pounds go down. Yummy.

    LCS imbalance

Hi Cathe. I hope this finds you well and thoroughly enjoying the beautiful days of fall. You know I've worked out with you for years, and then dabbled in heavier stuff as well. I was so proud of myself for my 200# squat, my 270# deadlift, etc. BUT they've been short lived at best. I've...

    Greg in the warm-up! Annoying

IIRC Greg had a nasty flu bug all during this filming. I followed him on FB for a bit and recall being very surprised that he pushed through like a trooper despite being very ill. Again, that's IF I am recalling correctly.

    Denise Austin must be stopped!

Why would anyone dredge up a thread that's 9 years old (2013-2004=9) and engage in discussion let alone argument?:confused::confused:

    Cathlete Facebook Group

Ummm, not sure why one didn't come up, but there's been a very active Cathletes group page on FB for well over a year. Suzette Perkins started it a long time ago.

    supplement question

Thanks all. I do take hyaluronic acid, as well as Shaklee glucosamine (my ortho said that's the best joint supp he's ever come across) and a liquid glucosamine for joints. The curcumin was suggested by a holistic doc as mostly an anti-inflammatory assist, in an effort to soothe some overworked...

    supplement question

Hi Cathe friends. I take a number of supplements already, but one was suggested to me that I'm unfamiliar with. Do any of you take curcumin and if so, what results have you seen? Thanks!

    Upper Arms Too Big

Do you journal your food? Maybe try that first for say 2 weeks before jumping into change. Often we don't even realize WHAT we eat, let alone our portions until we actually start to become aware. There are all sorts of ways to journal, i.e. many apps etc. For me, good old fashioned notebook and...

    Upper Arms Too Big

Hi TG. Not Cathe here but so often when this type of quandry arises I think it's all about diet - unfortunately. You said you're "pretty good with diet" - what does that mean? I shared this a few months back from another fitness site I follow. Harsh, but true words for sure. What is...

Just to do it - or progress it

Wow. One storm comes in and knocks out the 'puter and LOOK at all of your brilliant insights that I missed. You all are a wise crowd indeed. I guess what I find so frustrating is that I am now wondering if I have maxed out. :( I'll be 50 next week and up until a few weeks ago my lifts were on...

Just to do it - or progress it

Hello fit friends. I have a question about lifting. Do you just go along with a DVD or program, whatever, and do what you can do? Or does it BUG you when you don't see progress? I've injured my hamstring so I've switched up my lifts in an effort to let it heal. When I lift heavy, I really...

    Slow and heavy

YES! So totally worth it IMO. I have all those mentioned above and I lift heavy (squats ~175# range, deadlifts 250+, blah blah blah) and I pull out SH every now and again to mix it up. I use the bi-tri and chest-back (though mostly for chest only) at least 2x month.

    Any other X-Train shirt issues?

Here's what I've learned. The secret logo is right under the XTrain logo. On me that's right where "my girls" don't allow the shirt to touch my skin. It's usually hitting my sports bra. A few weeks ago I went braless and did an hour sweatfest on my elliptical trainer (so in the privacy of my...

    Ab work

HeeHee! No, no buckeyes before abs. That would just hurt. Ya, my *best* core workout, which is the one that gives me those 4-day DOMS takes about 40 minues. ;) I warm up with Cathe's weights and plates segment from the STS ab circuits. Right after that I pump out 4 rounds of this circuit...

Update from seated good morning experiment

Hi all. Me again. Sorry to bump this up, but here's another update. A PR in terms of deadlifts. Pullled 265# - 10 pounds away from my goal of 275. I know I said in another post somewhere that all of these tiny vs. big increments up make me crazy - and they do - but having failed at 265 before, I...
