Cathe: No cardio for a while

Hi Cathe, and Everyone... I have been in total denial about the intense pain in my left foot I've had for months, and have continued to do high impact aerobics. (I know, I'm an idiot.) I am seeing a doctor tomorrow (finally, after months of my husband nagging at me), and hopefully I will get...

    Terrible heel pain

Thanks for your advice. Great websites...the article on plantar faciitis describes my sypmtoms to a tee. And I know you're right, I should see a doctor. I know in my heart, too, that I need to stop doing the Cathe cardio videos for a while. Funny, but I don't feel any pain when I'm doing them...

    Terrible heel pain

Help! I have done something to the bottom of my left foot. My heel hurts pretty much all the time now, but the pain is really intense when I get out of bed in the morning, or when I get up from sitting for awhile. I've iced it and taken ibuprofen, but not regularly. My husband wants me to go...

    *#!@!!#! Spider Veins Grrrrr

Self tanners Glad to hear you are avoiding suntanning! I use sunless tanners and boy, they sure make my legs look good! Cellulite and spider veins don't look nearly as bad on a sunless-tanned leg as they do on my very white ones! If your only experience with sunless tanners was the old QT...

    Feeling Lame

I agree totally with Wendy! It seems to me that all the signs are pointing to the fact that you are getting a great cardio workout on the 6" step, PLUS you are cutting down on your pain, which is a good thing! Lowering the height of your step does not mean that your intensity is necessarily...

Any San Diegans out there that love Cathe/The Firm?

I'm from Vista, and am a devoted Cathe fan! I tried the Firm videos, but the instructors got on my nerves really quick. Plus, I had no idea when I was buying the videos that they took bits and pieces from other videos, put them together and called it new! And then they'd change the names of...

    Anyone order from "PenniesontheDollar?"

Darn it! I KNEW that I should have posted a question the other day when I couldn't find Ryka Re-evolutions in any of the stores around here! I looked at the Ryka website and didn't want to pay that much to buy directly from them. I settled for a pair of New Balances, which will probably work...

How do you conquer a video?

I agree with Marnie! Start light, start slowly, and you'll ease into these workouts. Listen to your body, take longer rests. Be proud of yourself for however much you can do, at whatever weight. You don't have to lift heavy to get results. Veronica

    hOW HIGH OF A STEP

Please don't hesitate to lower the step. You'll still get a great cardio workout. I usually use 8" (I'm tall), but in some videos, I lower to 6". When I first did this, I worried about my heart rate coming down, but I wear a monitor, and was surprised that it didn't. Cathe even uses the step...

    Split stance

Forgive me for horning in, but I think that the split stance is just to help keep us from using our bodies to "hoist" the weight up. The split stance makes it tougher to accidentally cheat. I bet if you don't do the split stance, and just make sure you don't use your body to swing that weight...

    Cathe/Forum Addicts

I sneak on to the forums here at work way too much! No one has said anything to me about it, but if they did, I would justify it by saying that I spend less time doing this than a lot of the smokers we have at this place who always seem to be outside hanging around the parking lot having a...

    No sugar diet?

RE: Check out Kathleen DesMaisons on Sugar addiction LAST EDITED ON Aug-24-01 AT 02:54PM (Est)[p]I wasn't clear. I cannot stop at one cookie, or one portion of ice cream. Most people can see a plate of cookies, and eat one or none at all. I would eat every cookie on that plate, whether I am...

    No sugar diet?

RE: Check out Kathleen DesMaisons on Sugar addiction I'm at work and unable to respond in as great a detail as I would like, but I must say to mmdyck that until you've walked a mile in my shoes, please don't say that one cannot be addicted to sugar. You obviously have no idea what sugar can do...

    Re-starting weight training

Hi YasDB! PowerHour is just so much fun! Great music, great exercises...I highly recommend it. You can always go real light with the weights as you ease back into weight training. It's really a blast...if you ask me, I'd say go for it! Veronica

    ?? re Power Max

PM is one of my all-time favorite Cathe tapes. I agree with everything Erica says, and it doesn't take too much space. Time really does fly for me when I do this tape. It keeps my heart rate up the entire time. I've read posts from you before, and I know you love your cardio very intense...

    Power hour lunges

Although I can't remember what tape it's in (PS SLA maybe?), Cathe does say the you are working BOTH legs with a lunge.
