    Cathe: Half-marathon training help!

I've never heard that "rule" Carole. That is very helpful. I don't usually run more than 3x/week. I find more than that and my knees will get kinda sore. I did one long run, one run about half the distance of my long run, and one speed/hills run. My 4th cardio day was spinning, but any...

Registered for my very first marathon...

Just remember is it soooo much mental. The one thing I wish I would have done was to print out or write on my arms uplifting things. I definitely could have used it to get out of my funk. I couldn't get one positive thought into my head after mile 17! If it weren't for an angel that met up...

    Ringaling, Debbie H... P90X :-)

Thanks! I keep meaning to send you a note too. Hopefully one of us will get it done here soon! I have lots to say:-) I have my eye on a piece of equipment that will do the power tower stuff, but also is kind of like a cage for lifting heavy safely, and has the pulldown attachment...

    Ringaling, Debbie H... P90X :-)

Power Tower? I did a search, but couldn't find anything on Power Tower. What is it? Guess, I'm gonna have to start reading up on P90X. Sounds interesting! Andrea

training for 10k and Cathe. Anyone done this?

I did! I ran 3x a week, did Cathe weights 2-3x, and maybe a Cathe cardio 1x. Good Luck! Andrea

    Anyone from/live in Reno?

I have no input, just wanted to say "Hi!" as a fellow Nevadan (Amargosa Valley). It's neat to think there is someone in Elko that is a Cathe fan! Hey, you might even know some people I know:-) Andrea

? How to schedule biking and leg work ?

I like to do my lower body work right after my Spinervals. I keep them at 45 minutes and then go into weights. I can't lift heavy of course. It's mostly endurance work. It feels great being so warmed up though. I only lift for lower body 1x/week. Andrea

Question for those of you with Plantar fascitis...........

I'm picking up my first pair of orthotics today. When I went in to get casted for them, they hadn't gotten a pre-approval from my insurance. I told them to go ahead and do it, because I was going to want them either way. Since I stopped running and got the C shot I haven't had any pain...

    abs before working out

I started doing them first about a year ago when I was pressed for time. They work as a great warm up for upper body workouts. I love doing them first now. I also have trouble with some of the plank work after a workout cause my arms are so fried. My core can keep it up, but my arms can't...

help with a rotation that includes running!

I trained for my first marathon this fall/winter. I only ran 3x a week, but this is what my week looked like. Hope it helps with some ideas. Sun. long run (up to 20 miles) Mon. Upper body and abs. Cathe's DVDs are so nice to be able to split the body up. I did no lower body weights...

The insurance denied my pre-authorization for orthotics.........

Mine told me they wanted me to try OTC orthotics first. Find out if that is why, and then tell them you've tried and they don't work. I don't know if you have tried, but I have, and...well they don't work! My orthotics are going to be $350. I told my Dr. to go ahead and do them because I...

    Pointers for Beginner Jogger

Running is totally different than what you've been doing, so don't go out for a 60 min. run the first time. I know you are advanced, but I would start with an easy 15 minute run just to see how your body takes it. You'll know the next day if your knees, lower back, etc. are okay with the...

    what about bikini waxing?

I love Pensacola! I'm so jealous! I also love waxing:-) I think the reason it hurts less each time after is that there is a lot less hair to rip out the more you do it. I went to a pro once and now do it at home with cold wax strips. I think shaving is much more painful. Andrea

    cathe workouts/ with running also

I run and do Cathe, but it's usually either/or. I usually stop running during the winter, and when spring comes I have no problem completing a 3 mile run. My knees take a little more time to get used to it though. As far as results, running has always given me better results. Andrea

    How to Diet with Success

I used to eat a lot of junk, even if I wasn't hungry. I still do a few days before my period. It's like nothing is satisfying. I just slowly incorporated healthier choices into my eating and over the years (I'm 28) it's gotten much better. I'm not perfect by any means, but my eating is...

    RESULTS FROM CTX-DVD ROTATION

Yes, CTX gives great results. Out of the 3 I'd definitely pick CTX. Plus, there are so many other ways of using it with the DVD. Andrea

DO YOU HAVE CROSS TRAIN EXPRESS DVD

I bought the whole set on VHS before I had a DVD player. Then I sold the set and bought the DVD. I use so many pieces and parts of the workouts in different ways, that it is so much easier than RWing and FFing all the time. CTX is one of my very favorites. Andrea

    Your favorite Cathe stretch segment

I like to string together all the CTX stretches, or all the Intensity Series stretches. I like them cause they are kinda yogaish. Andrea
