    Recovery

Many of the top athletes have incorporated more stretching, flexibility, and mobility into their training regimens. As sports science has evolved it is recognized that to maintain peak performance, and reduce the risk of injuries, you can't just go hard out all the time and flexibility and...

    Comparing STS 1.0 & 2.0

I think STS 2.0 lifting exercises are closer to STS 1.0 Phase 2 Hypertrophy. STS 2.0 tends to use between 8-12 reps for most exercises. The lifting exercises in STS 2.0 also seem to be comparable to the lifting exercises in X-Train. STS 1.0 is different in that it splits the workouts into 2...

    Cathe's Upper Body Birthday Party

Also check out Cathe's coupons as I think she has a coupon for 20% off when you spend $20 or more on downloads. Cathe usually does a really good Black Friday deal in November too. I started off purchasing Live downloads before I got decent internet and switched to streaming.

    Cardio!

Nice suggestions Fitdeb and Debinmi! I haven't done slide n glide in a long time. Would love a cardio barre workout. Something cardio using the mini ball would be good too.

Reviews for Body Parts in STS2.0?

Happy Birthday!! Shoulders are still my least favorite area, particularly overhead presses. I've been doing combination body parts based on the premixes but using the workout manager to shorten them to fit into my workout time. I've made up 2 workouts for each body part combination, so...

STS 2.0 User Guide Body Parts Biceps

Attention Forum Admin. I have just discovered that the User Guide is missing the chapter for Kneeling Double Arm Sweeper Curls. This should be after Kneeling Alternating Sweeper Curls and before Hammer Curls.

    Foam rolling & yoga blocks

Yes, those are the ones. I have the WAGS Ultra as these were the only ones I could get in New Zealand, but there are different types. I only use them for Yoga. I have tried using them on my Pilates reformer when doing planks but because of the pads I can't grip the foot bar properly and it...

    Foam rolling & yoga blocks

Sorry, got the name wrong, they are Wrist Assured Gloves, or WAGS.

    Foam rolling & yoga blocks

No, I've never come across these before. They don't look very stable. I have Wrist Assisted Gloves that I use sometimes for yoga. They have a pad in the heel of the palm that raises it a bit and puts your wrist in a less flexed position.

Yes, I've definitely seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. The ugly is scary!

I can only go up to 12s with concentration curls. I find I reach failure very suddenly with concentration curls. Whereas other exercises there is a buildup to failure, with these I'm going OK for several reps and then I suddenly can't complete the next rep. It's the only exercise where I...

Upper body recommendation (during lower body injury)

Exactly. I was an industrial chemist working in factory laboratories doing quality control testing and developing new products. After 8 years of lab work, I started getting sensitized to the chemicals and had to stop working with them and change my career. I moved into a health and safety...

Reviews for Body Parts in STS2.0?

Overhead triceps extension with a band feels awkward to me too. I always substitute dumbbells. Did my back and biceps workout yesterday and went to my normal one arm row weight for the gorilla rows which was about the right weight. Also used my weight-lifting hooks for pull ups and the...

I totally get that. I kind of fell into my current career as a hazardous substances' consultant. It has allowed me to be self-employed but I'm not passionate about it.

? on Glute Bridges ... barbell v dumbell

I think that would be a worthwhile investment. I found there was a bit of a learning curve to get myself in the right position and do the move properly but once I figured it out, I was able to increase my weight. I started with around 38lbs on my barbell but last time I did about 45lbs and...

Reviews for Body Parts in STS2.0?

I agree, I went lighter with these but afterwards thought I could have gone heavier. I'm doing back and biceps again today, my own shortened mix that I made in the workout manager based on the premix and substituting in some of the bonus exercises. It works out to around 25 minutes of each...

Upper body recommendation (during lower body injury)

For wall pushups you could use a fabric or stretch band across your back similar to how Cathe and crew use it in floor pushups, so you are pushing against some resistance. Explosive standing wall pushups, where you push completely away from the wall, might be an option to give some variety...

Upper body recommendation (during lower body injury)

Your best bet might be to put together a workout or two using the blender. I don't know about chest work as that all seems to be either bench or floor, but maybe you could do standing push-ups against a wall. With back you are probably limited to rows and rear delts, maybe deadlifts if you can...

Reviews for Body Parts in STS2.0?

I purchased some weightlifting hooks, mine are the Rimsports brand which I purchased from Amazon Australia. I read a review by a woman that said they were a smaller fit and suitable for women or people with smaller wrists. I used them yesterday for Legs, with squats, deadlifts and static...
