    One bodypart a day question

I think as long as you're doing the heaviest weight you can manage for each particular exercise, you'll be fine. As long as you're fatiguing your muscles, they'll grow. But I'm no expert, of course. :)

    how often to "up" weights

RE: how often to Have you tried using the heavier weights? You might surprise yourself. I often think I can't lift a certain weight, but when I try it, I get through just fine. You're probably capable of much more than you think!

Stopping Slow & Heavy Rotation :(

I'm currently on my fifth week of slow and heavy and going strong (no pun intended). There's no reason to stop unless you feel like you're having trouble concentrating or that you're overtraining.

    Whew..Imax after 5+ mo. hiatus

An 8" step seems a little high for someone of your height. I usually stick with 6" and I'm 5'3".

Just ordered SLOW and HEAVY ??? Bad choice??

Slow and Heavy is the one video series that I use more than any other. It gives me such great results in terms of definition and strength. I would love a sequel!

Mindy's Awesome Intervals and Interval Express

Phyllis, Awesome Intervals is a pretty sloppy tape, and the bad cuing might get on your nerves. Instead I would recommend Interval Express, which is really great. There are some good reviews on videofitness.com that will give you the scoop.

    S&H

RE: S&H Just a warning. I hurt my knee on the lower body workout from SH. I had a 40 pound barbell and ten pounds of ankle weights wrapped around my chest. So be careful and don't increase the weight too fast like I did! I agree that S&H isn't a great leg workout. I prefer Pure Strength or...

Suggestions for Someone with Knee Problems

I have knee problems and I have no problem with Cathe's step as long as I use a 4-inch step and ice my knee after every workout. I modify on twisty moves like ricochets if I feel my knee complaining. My physical therapist actually recommended step as a good, safe form of cardio for me, but made...

    What Cathe-isms have you misunderstood?

I was doing a tape the other day (I think it was Muscle Endurance) and while we were doing bent rows, she said "point your pinkies toward the television." I thought she said "point your pee pee toward the television."

A word of warning to all the aspartame addicts...

Personally, I think all this anti-artificial-sweetener stuff is bunk, related to people's belief that if something tastes good, it must be bad for you. I hope some of you will read the following before you jump to any conclusions: http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/1999/699_sugar.html...

Website for "how many calories I need, to LOSE weight?"

You could go here: http://www.caloriecontrol.org/calcalcs.html and figure out how many you need to maintain, then subtract 500/day to lose a pound a week. (To lose a pound a week you need to reduce your weekly caloric intake by 3500.) Hope that makes sense.

Is there a listing of the weights used in each video?

Hi Meredith! I don't think there's such a list here, but it's a great idea. Jennifer P.S. BTW, I tried Splenda on your recommendation and it's not half bad. :)

    Power 90

That infomercial is so great, but I've never heard a positive review of the tapes. Ah, the power of advertising. :)

    Selling Cathe Videos

It seems a little rude to be selling used videos on Cathe's own site. (Just a thought.)

    My Cardio Endurance STINKS!

Go by how you feel, not what your HRM says. The 226-your age formula is notoriously inaccurate. People's heart rates vary too much. My HRM always says I'm way above my max, even though I feel fine.
