Hi ladies! Starting the thread and being oh so NOT creative! Yesterday, Sunday, My left shoulder blade really hurt, I don't think it was from the UB weights Saturday (that wass XT CBS), because I do that so much and with my same wimpy weights, then I thought back. DH and I was moving some furniture around Saturday, one involved pulling this big foam mattress together to get through the doorway, I remember it being hard and me trying with all my might, we got it through and I fell down on the mattress huffing and puffing and DH said, what are you out of breath for I did it all (and he did), but I guess I really strained to try. Amazing how much it hurt later (but not when doing it), guess it'll never be the same again. I so hate this getting old and not being able to do some stuff! Anyway, we lazed around Sunday morning (watched LA La LAnd) and finally the snow was gone and sun was out so we went for a 16 mile bike ride. Today, Monday, I'm babying my shoulder blade still so I walked the dog and did 45 min of easy spinning as it's too windy to ride outside. I'm learning that my knee pain is helped from rolling the ITB band (left knee has been bothering me a bit and wowzers it hurts to foam roll that side and it eases the pain.).

Tracy, how far did you walk BB? Did you tell us how old he is? My shiba, Suki, is always pointing the way home to me.

Hellos to everyone, hope you had a great weekend!

Hello ladies! Today did a Julia workout, yesterday was Cathe live lower body bootcamp (hard). Lisa, take it easy! Maybe the weather had something to do with the increased pain? Tracey, how long do you walk your dog? Mine have short little legs, about 20 minutes and they are crawling back! Jody, that's a lot of steps at work! I usually only get in 6,000 at work. You have to go all over the hospital, I'm stuck in th ER. Roxie, not much longer! Are you packing? Ronne, how was your weekend?? Hi Murphy! 87 yesterday, 40's tomorrow, crazy. Just got my gray's done, now gotta make dinner! See you Wednesday, DD has a band concert tomorrow night. See you then, Mary

Good Evening,

I did KCM Coffeyfit Raw Lower Body. No snow here but a lot of rain. Today is DH's birthday and I bought him a nerf gun so he bought me one we spent the evening shooting each other brought out the kid in both of us.

Mary-no I haven't started packing most of our stuff is still packed from the move four years ago everything we have now is last minute stuff.

Lisa-nice thing about snow this late it melts quickly

Hi everyone

I was just about to start typing on the April thread then I remembered. Thanks for getting us started Lisa.

Lisa - hope you're enjoying having DH around again! What did you think of La La Land? I loved it!

Roxie - I've not heard of that KCM. Is it an old one?

Mary - that Cathe live sounds like a tough one. Can't imagine ever trying that!

Jody - DD will go on to study just three subjects from 16–18, so she gets rid of a load of stuff she doesn't like. Then when teenagers go to uni they generally specialise straight away with just one or two subjects. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to both systems really. I know DD will be really glad to drop maths and sciences!!

Didn't get any workouts in over the weekend. We had a bank holiday and my parents came to visit. We did some work in the garden and went to a stately home which had lovely grounds to wander round. The weather's been pretty blah, overcast and cool.
Today did Shoulders and Core from 4DS. Still laying off the legs and cardio.

Starting the May rotation - Tabatacise, eek. :-0

Ronne - what's a bank holiday? I see that all the time and wondered what it was.
Lisa - thanks for getting us started. The year is flying by.
Mary - that Cathe live did sound hard. It is probably so much fun being part of her class on a regular basis.
Roxie - the Nerf gun night sounds like fun. :)
Waves to Jody and Tracey

Murphy

Hi everyone! DH and I got in a bike ride today, 18 miles. I really work hard when riding with him! Him and I are seeing so many gains, we still don't like coming up the big hill home but we can do it (if you set your mind right), and it's getting easier. DH is so proud of himself! So glad we started this cycling, it's something he WILL do, see my foot/ankle problem paid off in the long run, right?

Ronne, did you get a foam roller? What is DD interested in doing? La La Land was good, DH was not into it at all, oh well, he let me watch it :)
Mary, It's more a muscle strain right in my weak spot. It's getting better, hopefully enough to do bi/tri tomorrow because it'll be raining and my legs need a rest day!
Roxie, the good thing about moving is cleaning out. I look at our stuff and all the stuff the boys left behind. We really don't plan to move for decades so after DH retires we'll have to do a slow clean out. Getting DH to let go of stuff is hard for him because he thinks he may need it someday (and sometimes we do ).
Murphy, eek is right!

Good Evening,

StudioSweat Max Burn HiiT from May 24 2015 w/Cat awesome workout.

Ronnie-its a free workout that KCM is putting out on YouTube there is an upper body one, she films them in her basement.

Mary-it was fun

Lisa-we get rid of stuff every time we move.

Hi fit babes! Thank you for starting the May thread Lisa! I'm not going to mention how far we are into this year already. I moved some logs last week with DH and DOMs set in the next day--I hate dat! And I'm going to see a chiro tomorrow because my neck is acting up and giving me headaches sometimes. Getting more mature is not for sissies! That's awesome you and DH enjoy riding and you both are seeing positive gains!!

BB is 6 1/2 and he's always loved to run and be outside. Since we give him too many treats, I never want to shorten our walks. But I do when the weather is horrible! We usually go 35 to 40 minutes. I thought he might slow down by now (Cavaliers are not known for high energy levels) but I'm fine that he hasn't.

Hi Mary! Who is Julia? I don't think I am familiar with her.

Shoot! Family calls, I will write more soon!

Hi all

Tracey - Hope you get sorted out at the chiro. You don't realise how you take your neck for granted till it starts hurting!

Roxie - I didn't know about those, I'll have a look.

Lisa - Yes I did. They're not very soft, are they?! I've been rolling out the top of my hamstring, no difference yet but it's early days. How long do you do it for? We're planning to do a loft clear out sometime this year...

Murphy - it's a national holiday, offices closed etc. Used to be all shops closed as well but that doesn't happen anymore apart from Christmas Day. We have about 8 a year. I think it's called that because presumably that was when the banks closed.

Tried a lower body workout today: LLA. I thought it would be OK as it's focused on quads and outer thighs. Got a little twinge in top of hamstring but I took it easy, didn't overstretch at the end and I don't think I made anything worse.

Hi all did the LB portion of giant sets from S&S. If I did not putz around this morning I would have had time to do the UB and LB. Oh, well, I will just do the UB another day.

Ronne - thanks for the explanation. BTW, how did you LLA? I do it mainly b/c my outer thighs really need the attention (as does the rest of my body!)
Lisa - it's nice that you and DH found something you can do together.
Roxie - you always find these good workouts!
Waves to Jody, Mary and Tracey

Murphy

Hello! I think Murphy and I are both trying the May rotation, tabatacize yesterday and giant sets today. I'll see how long I last! Ronne, hope that foam roller works for you. I know I have seen foam roller workouts on YouTube. Tracey, I've never been to a chiropractor, worth a try? Julia is a lady on YouTube, Fit body by Julia. Really has some great, challenging workouts. I like her, not as much as Cathe tho! Lisa, what a great love to have with DH! You guys will be able to ride together for years! Roxie, I have to try those KCM workouts! They look good. Jody, hope you find us! Concert last night was nice. They started with 30 minutes of chamber music, my head was starting to bobble around, I rallied tho! Good to see DD. Next week DS comes home for a week and DD comes home in 10 days! Getting excited! Good evening to all, Mary

Just XT bi/tri, tomorrow I'm making myself take a rest day in preparation for warm weather and cycling! Tracy, I had a lifetime of neck problems until it finally gave up the ghost. Hope you find relief! Ronne, I started with a medium roller per PT but soon found I wanted a really hard one. I don't do it that long, 5 to 10 min. Key is when you find a sore spot to try to relax over it and let the muscle release. Hope that makes sense. I'm rolling my it band and that one is painful to do on my left not to mention awkward! Mary, I'm firming up mothers day plans. I started with suggesting dinner and games here and ended up getting us and other DS invited over to DS new house. Murphy, putzing is the story of my life. Spent most of the day writing to a friend that only emails and I'd been a year since our last contact, I realized that I had a lot going on this past year. Roxie, do you have the access pass for ssod? I just looked up their month to month price, it's more than Peloton. 19 vs 12 a mth

Hi sweet babes!

Thanks for letting me know about Julia Mary! I last went to a chiropractor over 20 years ago for neck issues and I'll admit I prefer massage for the more gentle approach. But if you need to get in alignment more quickly, chiropractic is the way to go. I was surprised at how quickly my neck soreness went away today! I'm going to go once a week for 2 more weeks and then we'll see where I am.

Lisa, I'm so sorry you have had a lifetime of neck issues! When did that start for you?

Ronne, thanks for explaining your bank holidays, I didn't know either! And Lisa is right on about using the foam roller. I use it to gently roll over the area giving me trouble and then stop at a really tender area until the muscle relaxes. Using it on my IT band has given me chills because the pain was so high. I'm not saying this to scare you, it's just that we all carry a lot of physical pain that we may not be aware of!

Murphy, is LLA a Cathe workout? I feel like I live in a bubble with all that's out on You Tube I haven't explored.

Roxie, I think DH and I need those nerf guns!

Good job rallying Mary!

Hi Jody!!

Summer arrived today--BAM! 75 degrees and we can't handle it! I see that you babes have wider variances in temps (except for Ronne maybe) but we haven't been that hot since last Sept. maybe. Plus, we can get humid and we did today. We are in a cold rain forest here so we are used to cold wet air if that makes sense. BB insisted on going out today before things cooled down and the poor guy has been panting ever since--even in his sleep!

Let's see. PUB Monday, Butts & Guts Tues. and S&S Cardio Slam today which did not go well! Got tomato head even with the fan on and paused the dvd I don't know how many times due to overheating and the need to bring my HR down. There's the proof that I really can't handle summer when it arrives overnight!

Talk to you soon! Tracy

Good Morning,

No workouts to report

Lisa-yes I have all access plus backstage but I am dropping that I don't like some of the workouts they pick out. I downloaded peleton for free on my ipad last night plan on trying it out

Jody-I understand humidity here in Kansas it gets really humid almost to the point its hard to breathe. We are suppose to have 70 degree weather this weekend finally. Everyone knows it will be a lake weekend for me.

Hello

Nice and busy here again!

Murphy - good luck with the rotation. LLA was fine, it's one of her easier ones I think. I like the mix of light weights and no weights!

Mary - wow, a rotation. Hope it goes well! Ah, Youtube is another place I hadn't thought of. I might have a look for advice on there.

Lisa - well done on the rest day! Just as important as we've all finally figured out! Thanks for the foam roller advice. I tried that this morning after my workout. I'll see how it goes. The problem is it's not just a tight spot but a pull of some kind. It'll be fun going over to DS's new place for Mother's Day!

Tracey - Yes, it's Lean Legs & Abs from a few years ago. I'm going to persevere with the foam roller. Wow, that's a sudden jump in temp for you. I always struggle to find clothes when the temperature suddenly changes like that! Never really humid here which is something. Well done on the workouts though.

Just 4DS Bis & Tris today, nice and short. Remembered another workout I can do, STS Boxing cos there's barely any leg work in it. Hurray some cardio!
Work a bit stressed. Big problem on one project and another one has fallen through completely. I was just thinking I was set with work till August, oh well...

Quick post, just pulled out pics and I could actually see a transformation. Left a year ago , hormones and just started cycling (since I couldn't walk), right today, no hormones (that dropped 10 lbs then another 5 because of cycling), spinning over the winter and now able to ride those hills. I still weigh more than I'd like but I'm so much stronger. I'll take strength over a number on a scale.

HI girls! RWH plyo 1 today, (skipped the core! Don't tell). LISA! What a transformation! Congrats! Roxie, enjoy the lake. Raining here, is supposed to continue through Sunday. Kind of bring me down. Ronne, no humidity? Threat would be awesome! My hair would love that! Tracey, tomato head! I love it! Look over some Julia's, she has a lot. Some I avoid, like the ones with a lot of burpees. Hi Jody and Murphy! Have to get to the shower. Talk to you tomorrow! Mary

OK, I lied, was too beautiful not to get out and DH's meetings canceled so we went for a 17.5 mile ride, Suki was amped and ran when out of the basket, I clocked her getting to 12-15 mph! I was beat because we didn't take any breaks and no break when Suki was out as I had to cycle hard to keep up with her! Tracy, lol on Tomato head, I love it! I don't like humidity (hot and humid is worse), I blame growning up in FL, My skin looks and feels better when it's humid though. I think my neck problems stemmed from a car accident when I was 5, front seat, not belted in, went thru window, lady driving scooped me up and ran with me through the streets looking for help as my head was bleeding fiercely. At age 19 I had to go to Chiro during a ski trip, that was when they saw not much space in a couple of the discs, but I persevered until age 48 with neck going out every now and then until I had to have fusion. It was tough but this group got me thru! Ronne, my shoulder blade muscles are SORE, a goodish sore, so you must have more than just what can be foam rolled, take it easy! You are the most sensible one here! Roxie, Jenn is my fave and best music IMO, she talks and sings though so some don't like that. Jennifer is my next fav, then Christine who has real cycling experience. Then Hannah for an easy day. I've learned a lot through the Peloton FB group about Steven HR training but i don't jive with his music. Robin is kick a$$ but too much hip hop, same with Alex. You'll have to let me know what you think or if you need recomendations! Mary, THX! I think you got our rain. Now you know why I was glum!

Hi all, quickie for me this morning. Lisa, great transformation! I am happy for your improved health. Ronne, what will dd focus be? Mary, raining here, too. Roxie, I considered doing that w/o but my legs were sore from stairs at work. Tracy, I used to do my w/o outside on back patio year round in S Fl. While I am less heat resistant these days; overall I don't mind the high temps. Murphy all my Cathe's tend to be shortened.
Step counts at work have been 8-11K and one day I did 40 flights (5 floors x 8) over about 15 minutes. I can't even go into the craziness and stress of dd home and getting ready for Euro/Africa. Let's just say prayers gratefully accepted.

Hi all

Lisa - congrats! That is some achievement. You can really see the difference. Well done you! Go out and ride 50 miles to celebrate :)

Mary - your secret is safe with us... Rain is something we haven't had that much of lately, just cold!

Jody - She's going to do English, Art and German. Will be keeping you in my thoughts with DD stress. BTW, if she's going to be in the UK and needs any help with anything, I can give you my contact details.

Enjoyed STS Boxing. I added weighted gloves for a bit of extra punch! No great plans this weekend, just try to relax a bit, I think. All of us!
