Sts and weight loss

I have about 30 pounds to lose and am wondering if STS is right for me
during my losing stage. I have thought about just doing total body workouts like power hour until the weight is off, then starting STS. Opinions?? I am also in the middle of a weight loss contest, so I want to do whatever program that will get the weight off faster.

Lots of folks have reported great strides in weight loss using STS but it depends on what will work best for YOUR body. :)
 
Hmmm- I'm sure that either approach would work, but you might lose pounds more quickly with total body workouts to start. After both my kids were born, I lost the extra weight quickly by doing circuit training, kickboxing and step workouts, plus daily walks outside. Once I reached my goal weight, I cut way back on cardio and concentrated on heavier weights. I remember following a couple of Cathe's rotations that were cardio intensive to lose the weight:

ETA: If you search on Cathe's rotations, there are quite a few more recent ones that focus on fat loss and sound like fun. :)
