    If you want to do the entire leg workout, I would not use any weight except your body weight for a couple of weeks and see how your leg muscles feel. You could also split the leg workouts in half and work your legs twice a week. It may be that your leg strength lags behind your upper body...

    If you have the time, the total body weight premix from Four Day Split is absolutely superb. You get great cardio workouts with this set as well.

    Athlete Body vs Bodybuilding?

    I would imagine that athletes weight train more specifically than we do. They have to train to compensate for weak areas, and do additional work for the muscle groups that are important to their sport. They probably also weight train around their injuries.

    IMAX 2 Substitute

    If your knees are an issue, you might try combining the cardio only premix of Low Impact Circuit and Low Intensity Step (from 4 Day Split). Both of these workouts have low impact blasts that will get the heartrate up, but be easier on the knees.

    Buts and Guts

    I think you can get cardio effects from the standing portion of this workout. Many of the movements do get your heartrate up, and you can always march or run in place between exercises if you feel it is dropping.

    Gym Style series

    You may be fitter than I am, but I know I would have some trouble running 6 miles the day after doing GS Legs. It is quite an endurance workout, and your legs may be a little tired the next day.

    Favorite Cathe DVD?

    If you like step, go for Step Blast/Step, Jump & Pump. There are so many premix options on this one. You can do all step, step & weights, step, hi lo & weights, hi lo & weights. The list goes on and on. It also contains good core work and the weight work is short but challenging.

    Another TV Rant

    If you take out the commercials, most hour long prime time programs are only 42 minutes long. That's really sad. The news programs are the worst for drug commercials. They seem to think that no one under 55 watches the news.

    You don't have to do all of B & G to get a benefit from it. Just start the dvd and do what time allows. You can also click around and do those exercises you think you need the most.

    Upper body split question...

    I do the same split as Kathryn. I always make sure to do back & chest early in the week. That way, if I don't have time to get in a second upper body workout, I've at least worked the large upper body muscles that week.

    Upper body workout suggestion

    You might want to do some high rep, lighter weight work for awhile after doing GS and S&H. I'd recommend CTX Upper Body.
