Diamonds in the Rough Check In

I went for a hike yesterday, up to the levee to watch the fireworks. I felt really good. But, I had some nerve pain last night. Probably because I was late with my medication.

Diamonds in the Rough Check In

I hate not sleeping well. The other day I was thinking about just that, I chose not to have babies of my own because I like to sleep through the night. Its true. Most folks have other reasons, mine is just that one. As for my workouts: I am pleased to report that the box in my room is now...

    Yoga Experiences...please share

No, I didn't have less of an appetite. I think it helped more because I put on weight from stress and the kind of yoga I was using is known to calm the vegas (No joking, thats its real name!) nerve. I think that it lowered my cortisol level.

Plantar Fasciitis and Cute Shoes- Is it possible?

My chiropractor taught me to massage the bottom of my foot with a tennis ball. Which reminds me. I need to go do that. So, by massaging my foot, I can wear most tennis shoes without pain. I also foam roll my legs, but I don't know if that has anything to do with my recovery. Boy, am I glad I...

    Yoga Experiences...please share

My preferred method of incorporating yoga is 3x a week: M: Cardio Intervals 20 min., 40 min. of challenging yoga (Shiva Rae is great.) This session would incorporate more body weight bearing moves. You should feel it afterward. It may take a little time to find the right session to pick so that...

Diamonds in the Rough Check In

Its finally getting warm in our neck of the woods, too. Last week started in the 50s and now its in the low 80s. I have to reinstall my little air conditioner. I actually sweat, just sitting around, yesterday! I have to do the laundry, roast a chicken, and do some foam rolling and PT exercises.

    Working out every other day

I've done 6 day weeks and I found that I didn't recover as well. I'm just a couple of years older, I'm 40. Remember, what we earn from our workouts is done during recovery, after the fact. If you feel run down, or overly tired at all, I suggest scaling it down to 4 to 5 days a week. I don't...

    Low Impact Hiit

I think that low impact HIIT workouts are some of the toughest workouts available. I get more of an afterburn with low impact HIIT style moves alternating with circuit weight training followed with a yoga style cool down.

Me too, walking is a great way to restart an exercise program. I am still congested and tired. I can't wait to feel better. It's the first day of spring, and it's gray outside. Bleh.
