Pain in elbow after triceps workout

Hi-- This happened to me, too. And, once it happened, my elbow pretty consistently bothered me during overhead tricep work (for whatever reason, it doesn't really bother me during kick backs). What I find has helped, is wearing an over the counter elbow brace. I put it on during tricep...

    Which workout on "off" day

RE: Which workout on Doreen-- I stick to strictly cardio, too. I've been doing Christi Taylor step because I'm trying to force myself to try more dancy step stuff. I'm surprising myself because I've been able to follow pretty well. Anyway, if you REALLY want to do circuit, I'd go super...

Should kids be forced to take Piano lessons?

HI- I'm a music teacher (not piano) and my question would be is it the LESSON's she hates or the practicing? Very few people LOVE practicing. As others have said it can be sort of...well...boring. My son played trombone from 5th grade on through high school and my daughter (7th grade)...

    Which are used most?

Thanks, Deanna-- I have all the previous series except Butts and Gutts. I don't have Step, Jump Pump/Step Blast, but was sort of eying it for my next purchase. Thanks again for the suggestions. Julie

    Early feedback, sequence of favorites

Hi all-- I just finished up with LIS so have done them all. My ranking LIS Kickbox HIS Bootcamp Being choreo challenged, I will need to REpreview HIS and the 3rd combo of LIS because they confuddled me, but all in all I felt they were solid workouts. Julie

    I'm not feeling it......

Thanks everyone (and especially Cathe)-- I'm glad to hear I'm not a COMPLETE freak of nature :) And, I'm sure you're all correct that if I did more plank work (YUCK, YUCK, YUCK) and got my core stronger that my push ups might improve...... Thanks very much everyone. Julie

    I'm not feeling it......

OK, there's another issue :-) I cannot do straight leg push ups period and I KNOW I must not be doing the modifications correctly because the bent leg push ups are fairly easy. So, bent leg are easy (even when I extend my body so my weight is more over my arms), but I CAN'T go down even most...

    I'm not feeling it......

Hi Cathe-- I just got the Gym Styles and did Chest and Triceps for the first time yesterday. It was tough, but I didn't/don't feel the chest work in my chest--just in the arms and shoulders. This really is a pretty consistent problem--I rarely "feel it" in the chest although I'm lifting...

Positive thoughts for my dad, please

Anne-- I'll be praying for you and your dad. My dad was a stroke patient many years ago. I know how difficult this can be. I will tell you that he made an excellent recovery after his first few strokes. Hopefully your dad will do as well. Julie in VA

Your thoughts on Body Max 2

I find the whole thing to be very tough to get through. I do the entire workout occasionally--just to prove I can, I think, but I rarely do it on the 8". I lower to 6 and it's more doable for me. I know I'm a weenie, but my knees are happier when I stick to 6 :) Julie in VA

Thanks so much, Marcy-- I actually have KPC/L&G and just ordered the Gym Styles. I also pre ordered the new series, but appreciate the other suggestions. Thanks again. Julie in VA

    Which are used most?

Hi all-- I'm sloooowllly building up my Cathe collection and would really like to try one of her rotations. Anal though it sounds, I'd like to NOT substitute. So my question is, has anyone noticed particular workouts that are use more regularly in the rotations? In other words which are...

    Heart Rate Monitor opinions?

Hey T-- I got my F6 and it does say to send it back to the company for battery replacement. It says that if you don't, they don't guarantee the waterproofing/resistancy. I've read, though, about other folks taking it to the jeweler/watch repair and having the batteries done there. So, I...

Any other Top Chef addicts out there?

LOVE TC!! I tape it at night because I, too, can't stay up till 11 to watch (have to get up at 4:30-5:00 to get the workout in :) Casey is my favorite, but Dale has grown on me. I don't like Hung at all. Go Casey! Julie

    Heart Rate Monitor opinions?

Thanks everyone-- I went ahead and ordered the Polar F6 (in the lovely shade of Pink, of course :)) I'm looking forward to trying it out and seeing if I'm working as hard as I think I am! Thanks again, Julie

    Dancing with the stars

I agree that this year there wasn't an obvious stinker ala Master P or Kenny Mayne. I'd also like to see Josie go. I'd love to see either Jane Seymour or Marie Osmond go far because they are a bit closer to my age, but Wayne Newton looked downright scary! Julie

    Heart Rate Monitor opinions?

Hi all-- I mostly lurk, but am tiptoeing out to ask about HR monitors. Do you use one? Which do you like best? I'm thinking of the Polar F6, but the reviews I read suggest the F11. I'm not sure if I need all the bells and whistles of the F11 (in addition to the higher price!). Thanks...
