Strong Lifts 5 X 5 or Starting Strength Aficionados?

I haven't personally done Strong Lifts, but it is one of the protocols very frequently recommended on another fitness board I follow. People seem to like it (Wendler is another that is recommended often).

I know a few people who have one - they use it in the shower. :)

    Colorado Living

Yup - this! In general, a southern facing property is the best for sun exposure.

Basic knowledge on Macros - links

For what purpose? In general, most foods contain some amounts of protein, carbs and fat - it's not just ONE category (obvious exceptions are oils, etc.). If you use a tool like MyFitnessPal, you can browse their database of foods and determine the macro make-up of pretty much everything. It's a...

    Hydroxycut?

I'm a huge fan of bulletproof coffee and have been drinking it regularly for months now. I actually add 2 raw eggs to mine as well. My full "recipe" is: 2 eggs, 1T coconut oil, 1T Kerrygold butter, splash of vanilla extract, shake of cinnamon, shake of salt - blend all that up in the blender...

    Vitamix Vs. Ninja

I got a Vitamix years ago and it is my most used kitchen appliance by FAR. Worth EVERY SINGLE CENT.

    Body Beast

BodyBeast is old school, straight forward lifting. The last rep or two if each set should be HARD - as in, approaching failure. There isn't a huge rep count, so you have to go heavy to make this program effective (different approach than Cathe).

    Body Beast

The Build Legs workout was ALWAYS brutal for me - especially the step up / reverse lunge combo. OUCH. Glad to hear it wasn't just me! :)

Anyone use Perricone or other brand Face cream?

I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Paula's Choice. Prices are reasonable, she has NO unnecessary ingredients (fragrance, for example, which does not agree with my face!), and I have a regimen using her stuff that has worked wonders on my sensitive skin. I use her Resist Toner (after DHC Oil cleanser...

    Crossfit

I hear you!!!! It's been very humbling. :) This is a whole new class of fitness level! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!!!! Your mobility will GREATLY improve if you stick with it. My hips were a mess (serious mobility issues, regular pain, weird clicking, etc.) from years of running and cycling...

    Crossfit

Me! I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE Crossfit fan. After thinking about it for a LONG while (years!) I finally pulled the trigger a few months ago. Best decision I ever made and if anything, I wish I would have started earlier. For some background - for the last many years I've been doing primarily...

    Oil Pulling

I have also done this and feel that it has a lot of benefits. When I'm not up for the pulling, I will brush my teeth/gumline (using my Sonicare brush) with a big glob of coconut oil as "toothpaste." That seems to really work as well - my last checkup at the dentist went VERY well and I was...

    Get Glutes Program

Oooh - I will look at the Amazon reviews!!!! An index would be nice for sure. Thank you! Liz - I tacked on the first glutes only workout at the end of my Les Mills Pump workout the other day. I don't have a back extension machine, but easily subbed using my stability ball and hooking my feet...

    Get Glutes Program

Did anyone create workout log sheets for these programs? I have the book and want to get started this week. I was planning on creating sheets today at lunch, and of course I forgot the book at home.... :) Just wondering if someone else has created the workout sheets already that I could snag! I...

    Full marathon training

Unless your race is next weekend, the fact that your long run is already 17 miles means you are going to have NO problems getting ready!!!! Ice baths are a godsend - they truly work. I *think* I've used Sport Legs in the past, but ... it was a long time ago so I don't really remember...

Are you holding onto any letters, cards, etc. from past boyfriends?

I don't have any (but I'm not sure if I even really had any to begin with!!!!), but I don't see anything wrong with saving them if they make you happy to read every so often! I think it's sweet. :)

What size kettle bell should I start with?

Nah, no worries. I know better than to be drawn into anything with these types of people. Not going to happen. :) That is great!!!!! Another reason that starting light isn't a great idea for the majority of people - you get comfortable very quickly, and then you have a very expensive door...

What size kettle bell should I start with?

LOL. That is funny. Especially since I got my information from some of the best trainers out there, and my recommendations are in line with the VAST majority of recommendations available for women just starting out. But whatever works for you.... Your vast 7 weeks of KB experience certainly...
