Damage Control June!!

Hi Ladies! Tuesday was a BR w/o in the morning, Wed, a BR w/o in the morning and STS Disc 11 at lunch. Today will be BR in the morning and disc 12-legs at lunch or this evening. Today is the last disc of Meso 1, completed all workouts twice. I think I will just keep on going with STS. I'm not taking the rest week as I was off for a week when I was sick.

On the home front, the air conditioner is working great now and was covered as warranty work! The sprinkler guy is coming is on Tuesday, and I'm hand watering in our 90+ degree weather. I don't want our lawn to die. I've been giving it some water each night. Not a lot and surely not as even as the sprinkler system does, but something is better than nothing. I'm taking my car in for the hail damage next week, finally.

The cleaning folks are coming today. This makes me so happy!!

Beth-hope you can get the van leak fixed. What a pain. I've been skipping some of the pushups in STS too. They make my shoulder mad. Great job with HS, that is a fun one.

LL-great job keeping with your workouts and all the kids events! How are you liking yoga? I'm seriously considering signing up for a month of core power yoga. I have more aches and pains as I'm getting older and take longer to recover too.

Congrats on finishing Meso 1, Diana! Two times through at that is no easy feat. Meso 2 was always my favorite-sometimes I just did that Meso without the others.

Not much going on here. Might take a rest day or just a walk before work today. We're going to Williamsport tomorrow-DH found a used bike on Craigslist.

Beth

Well I didn't finish Meso 1 until today. My day was packed with meetings yesterday. Today I did a BR w/o in the morning and then disc 12 at lunch.

Tomorrow my MIL is taking us to breakfast for DH's birthday which is on Sunday, yep Father's Day. DH decided on breakfast instead of dinner. I don't mind that, but 8:30am for breakfast on the weekend is way too early IMO. I have plenty of household chores I can get busy on when we get home from breakfast. I'm guessing it will be a rest day.

We got our estimate on the kitchen (removing the wall, new cabinets & island) and flooring, and it's much less than I anticipated. Of course, it's just an estimate. They used laminate flooring for the estimate and I'm not sure I want that. We will probably go to their shop and view all our options before making a decision. The carpet for the upstairs bedrooms will be pretty easy for me to decide. I think I want hard surface on the stairs and hallway upstairs and just carpet in the bedrooms. I could have hard surface on the stairs and carpet in the hallway and bedrooms. They estimated 6K for the quartz counter tops. The island is slated to be 6' by 4'. Next step is decide our financing options. Refinance the house and take out some equity, or just get another home equity loan. We will be meeting with a mortgage specialists to go over our options. Slowly but surely we are making some progress.

LL-great job making it to the semi-finals!!! Sorry to hear about the loss, but the team did great making that far. Nice job with your workouts too!! What's on your agenda for the weekend?

Beth-enjoy your weekend. I'm doing more purging. DS3 left a bunch of stuff on the shelf in his closet. I'm going to go through it and see what I can give away.

Evaluations are finished!!! Now to get everything to gather for the state and I will have that off my plate. Just another meeting with my evaluator for transcript work.

Yesterday was cardio super sets, so tired. Friday was total body giant sets, Thursday was afterburn. Wednesday was circuit upper body with abs mixed in. I'm enjoying the June rotation!

This weekend has been lighter. I was at the park yesterday morning with Little K for a Park and Oils class. But we had a downpour earlier that morning. So no one showed. [emoji17] we shopped for new sneakers for the boys in the late afternoon. Today after church we will spend the afternoon at my dad's pool with my father in law and brother in law.

Diana- I really like the morning yoga! Not tough but a few balance challenges that I like. A cleaning lady?? Awesome!!

Hi Beth! Enjoy you're rest day!

Is the workout manager still working? I was off of it for a month or so but now I can't seem to log in from anywhere: iPhone, iPad or iMac.

Yesterday was a rest day. Today I did BR RTC Day 26 and started Meso 2 with Disc 13-CST. I'm showering, eating and then running some errands.

LL-they are switching from http to https. I was having trouble logging into the forums for awhile but I came across the article that they are switching. Hope that helps. What do you think of Giant Sets? It's a toughie IMO. Great job!

Hi ladies,

Glad it's not just me that had trouble for a while with the forums. I've been a bit preoccupied with the doctor appt. tomorrow morning for the bleeding-I'll let you know what happens. So, I haven't been sleeping well which affects the food choices and the workouts. Anyway Sat. I did part of KPC then we went to pick up DH's new (to us) bike. Funny you're talking of Giant Sets-his bike is called a Giant. I never heard of the brand-DH says it may be from CA? Sunday we rode bike for 66 min. Whew! I slept good last night!

LL the June rotation does look like fun. Glad you're enjoying it.

Diana-we went out for Father's day breakfast too with my parents. I had a headache afterwards. The cleaner I try to eat the harder it is to eat out. For lunch I made a salad with: chopped cabbage, carrots, apples, raisins, walnuts and whole30 avocado mayo. Then I made egg rolls for dinner.

Today I'm planning on a premix or all of Legs and Glutes. When I popped KPC in on Sat. I remembered how much I like that workout! What's on your agenda?

Beth

This morning was a BR w/o and tonight I did STS Disc 14-legs. The next 3 days are pretty busy, meetings starting at 7am. Tomorrow I also have to take my car in to the insurance adjuster to for hail damage, and the sprinkler guy is coming.

I contacted my tri training partner about doing a couple of tri's this summer. She can swim, I can bike, and we are looking for a runner so we can create a team. I think that would be better than not doing anything this summer.

Beth-Nice job with your workouts. Your salad sounds delicious! I'm not doing very good with the clean eating. Some days are better than others. Tonight I had nachos for dinner. I'm thinking of doing another round of Whole 30 when I get back from vacation in July. I hope the Dr. has good news for you. Giant is pretty big bike brand here, our bike shop sells them.

bbl

Diana I think biking would be the best one, too. DH likes his bike, he just has to get used to the different way of shifting and the different handlebars.

Good news from the doctor-no cancer, just need to watch the cyst to see what happens to it. So I have another ultrasound in 6 weeks. This month I'm having hot flashes again-they had stopped for a few months (probably why I got a period). So fun!

Yesterday I did the Legs and Glutes Leg Press Mania premix-great workout. Today, I just walked for 50 minutes around town.

have a good day-hope you get some workouts in between all the meetings!

Beth

Seriously, I just want to cry. The sprinkler guy came to fix our sprinkler. Thought he had it all done and turned on the water and it start spewing up between the box and the cement. Now they have to come back next week and jack hammer out the cement to fix the leak and the price has now doubled. It was 98 degrees today, my poor lawn...and my poor checkbook. I feel like I need to get a second job to pay for all the stuff that keeps breaking around here.

This morning I only did a 30 min BR w/o and took my car to the shop at lunch. Not sure if will have time to workout tomorrow or not. On the upside, I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow night.

Beth-Nice w/o!!! Glad you results came back okay. I'm not looking forward to hot flashes. The joys of being a woman. Why don't men have to go through any of this crap. Probably because they couldn't handle it. I' have a mammo in July and am going to ask if they can just remove the cysts in breasts as I'm tired of worrying about them.

Diana, too bad about the sprinkler system. It's so hard keeping up with stuff that goes wrong in a house. It makes you want to not do anything and just wait for the next thing that breaks so you have the money to fix it. We have a list that just keeps getting longer.

On the plus side ENJOY the massage! All those days of double workouts deserve a nice kneading.

I did Cardio Leg Blast from X-train yesterday (within my ability-meaning some lighter weights, not too high on the air jacks, and on an 8" step). Feeling good and my hip survived! I will probably just walk today. I'm trying to alternate high impact and lower impact. Making a large dish of cauliflower gobi today. Spices, olive oil, cauliflower, potatoes, onions, ginger, and tomatoes.

Beth

Well I did Tabatacise yesterday! It was nice to just do a kick ass cardio w/o. The BR w/o's are mostly weight/cardio circuits. This morning I did STS Disc 13-CST and am not sure what I will do at lunch. It will either be another all cardio w/o or Disc 14-legs.

Beth-Woo Hoo for CLB. That is such a fun and effective workout! I need to do some low impact too, my heel/foot is pretty painful. Wearing shoes in the house helps a bit. Your cauliflower dish sounds delish.

Friday was a rest day. Good thing because I had a super busy night at work. Slept in this morning, but have decided to do Cardio Supersets with the step add on. I'm liking holding weights to help my upper body. Hopefully tonight won't be as busy!

Diana, I love Tabatacise! Your stamina is phenomenal-I'll be trying to keep up in October!

Have a good weekend-
Beth

Greetings from Rehoboth Beach, DE! (I started a response yesterday but never finished and it's missing. Oh well.) B has a baseball tournament. He had 2 games each Friday yesterday and today. He is about to start the championship. Hot and humid! So no workouts for me these last few days! I can't remember my last wo. Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday.

I will hopefully sleep well and long tonight as I've been running on little sleep this week and it's catching up with me! I've been feeling off all day.

Ok I just checked the rotation. The last wo I did wast Athletic Training, not one that I love, but then again, I don't love any in LIS except maybe Turbo Barre but I don't like the limited premixes. But AT is up there for one of my faves for LIS. I can't remember if I'd did Cardio Super Sets or not, I thought Legs and Glutes were next but I'm not sure. I have the rotation printed under the TV and I date it there.

Diana- your sprinkler system sounds like a nightmare![emoji51] and way to go on Tabatcise! I love it but it also scares me. I wish there were more premixed with varying orders of the levels. I've never tried 4 or 5 and only have done 1, 1-2 and 1-3.

Beth- CLB is another one that I find hard!

Trying get my weight under control. It's not that I've been eating terrible or anything, just too much chocolate and wine I guess. I probably at that age where I need fewer calories and haven't made that adjustment. I'm even considering going back to weight watchers, but I keep reminding myself why I stopped going there in the first place. They just their program every few years so I may go check it out.

Yesterday was a rest day and I spent part of the day with my sister. We went to kohl's and I bought a couple pairs of shorts and tank tops for my trip to San Diego. This morning I did STS Disc 14-Legs, and Lowmax both with the 10# vest. Off to shower and then on to weekend chores. I cannot get this heel pain to go away and it is getting very close to the achilles tendon. I may go to the Dr. and see what the issue really is. I've been doing a lot of calf stretching but the pain is still there.

Beth-Yay for getting to sleep in! How was Cardio Supersets? That will probably be on the agenda this week for me.

LL-have a fun at the tournament. Good luck to Little B! I hope you get caught up on your sleep soon. Great job with your workouts.

Hi Ladies,

LL-any day at the beach is a good day! Have fun with the family. Do you wear a fit bit? I never thought I was walking so much and then got one and even as short as I am,I'm getting lots of miles daily. I've actually stopped working out as hard/often because I'm on the move so much (especially at work).

In the vein of not working out so hard, Sunday was a walk around town day for 50 minutes and then work. This morning I was down another pound. I'm so close to my goal weight-just two pounds off. But I'm ok within 5 pounds of it.

Diana, when I start needing to reign in the pounds, I log my food. It makes me think twice about what I put in my mouth! I've never tried Weight Watchers but I did have a list of the points for each food and sort of did the points myself for a bit before I discovered Livestrong's food diary. Since starting the new shift, I drink much less wine (not a daily occurrence anymore) since I'm at work during "happy hour". Maybe that's why I've been able to lose a few? Of course, we have our hormones to contend with as well! Have you been icing your heel? I'm still stretching 2x/day for hip and shoulder. My legs are still sore from cardio supersets on Saturday! I don't know what I'll start the week with today-maybe kickbox.

Off to get my day off going!

Beth

I bought some plantar fasciitis inserts for my shoes and they are working wonders. I'm still not convinced thats what the problem, but the inserts are helping and I'll take that. This morning I did CCC (with the 10# vest OH my) and tonight after work I did STS Disc 15-Back & Biceps. I joined an at home ab challenge the my gym is doing. Adding in those exercises each day.

I did make some protein brownies:
2-3 bananas mashed
1/2 C nut butter of choice-melted in microwave
1/4 C cacao powder
2 scoops protein protein powder

Combine all ingredients in a blender of food process. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes. They taste more like bananas than like chocolate.

Beth-great job with your weight loss. I have tracked consistently on myfitnesspal for over 600 days. It's easy to see that I need to stop the chocolate, peanut butter and wine. Those are basically the non nutritional, food triggers, or unnecessary calories in my log. Peanut butter may be okay, I simply eat way too much so probably best to eliminate all together as well as any nut butters.

bbl

Holy cow Batman-10lb. vest with CCC!!! Glad the inserts are helping. DH's PF is much better since he got his back worked on at PT. You know-you have to live a little so having some wine or chocolate is OK?! I try to eat clean, but I'm an 80/20 believer, too. For a while I've been trying to do whole30, but allow myself one non-whole30 food a day. Lately it's been my high carb, high fiber cereal in the morning. Sometimes it's cheese, wine, dessert... I hate to feel like I can't have something! Reading back over this, I guess I just eat what I want most of the time!

Yesterday ended up being a "stay in my jammies" all day, day. I was tired and didn't do much. I did make paleo egg roll in bowl and pizza. But to me, cooking is fun and relaxing. Later today it's back to work and reality. It's nice to feel energized to work out. I'm thinking a lower body weight work.

Beth

Yesterday I only did one workout..can't recall which one though. Oh well. This morning I did STS D16-CST and at lunch I did BR RTC Day 1. I have time for lunch and a quick shower before the rest of my meetings. My weight was down a tad this morning. Just need to continue cutting out the junk and trigger foods. Oh, not sure if I mentioned I'm doing an ab challenge. It's only been 3 days but I feel like I can see a difference. I know that's really not possible. Perhaps it's just cutting the junk food is eliminating bloat. Whatever it is, I'll take it.

Beth-I agree in moderation too. Being too restrictive is not sustainable long term. A jammie day sounds wonderful! Sometimes we just need those days. I wish I enjoyed cooking, but I don't. I might like it more now since I don't have to worry whether or not the kids like something. Just curious, what was in the paleo pizza?

Hi to LL-hope you are having a fun summer with the kids!
