My Success Story

My Success Story
In 1999 I weighed under 80 lbs and was hospitalized off and on for the year. I was told I was going to die. In 2000 I began to eat again and got to 200 lbs. I was miserable. In 2001 I found Cathe's website, ordered CTX, and lost 50 lbs. I also gained self-respect, strength, bone density increases, and a new outlook on life. I'm not kidding when I say Cathe saved my life!!

Hi, Cathletes! I am feeling fat, depressed, down, and in despair today. So I am going to something my friend Kim does when she's feeling less-than-stellar - she makes a list of all the things that make her happy as a way of combating her sad feelings.

Here's my list:

I have a wonderful husband
I have a super fun, supportive, close family
I have three cuddly, cute, albeit crazy, cats
I have great friends who don't judge me, don't enable my disorder...

Actually, it's Friday afternoon. And actually, I have direct deposit, so it never really feels like I just got paid.

Whatever happened to Johnny Kemp? Was he a one-hit wonder? I once referred to the band Kansas a one-hit wonder. ("Dust In The Wind" was the only song of theirs I thought I knew.) My husband ran and got his Kansas Greatest Hits CD and proceeded to read me the track list. If memory serves, I knew every one of the songs featured on that album. I guess...

Has anybody seen the movie "Man On Wire"? It's a documentary recounting Philippe Petit's 1974 walk across a wire strung between the Twin Towers. After the events of 9/11, The New Yorker did two fabulous covers combining Petit's walk with the loss of the Towers.

Okay, every Wednesday I get "Humpty Dance" stuck in my head. And my favorite line from that song is "Samoans, do the Humpty Hump." I laugh every time I hear it or think of it.

Good things (because I don't want this thing to just be a bunch of negativity!)
-My husband found an old magazine yesterday (he was cleaning!!!), and asked me if I wanted to browse through it before he tossed it. I did, and found two ‘new’ pictures of Montgomery Clift taken by Richard Avedon in 1958. I love little surprises like that!
-Season four of “The Office” came out last week and I bought it (not that I should be buying myself stuff, but now's not the time to complain about...
