Mary I was the same way. If it all helps, I'm still like a starving mad woman since I"m breastfeeding. Seems like I"m always hungry. So don't worry, you're normal.:P

I know how you feel. I was very good about my eating habits before getting pregnant. I could stop after two slices of pizza and refuse dessert. Now, look out! I could a pizza on my own. hahaha I don't, but think I could. I'm not sure how much you're supposed to gain, but so far I've gained 8 pounds at 23 weeks. Seems like a lot to me.

Thank you all so much for support. I gained 40lbs with my ds but I was also 8lbs lighter to begin with. I know that I tend to gain the most in the beginning, so I guess we will see. I hope everyone feels good!!!

I use up all my self control by refraining from drinking alcohol and coffee, and well as by avoiding fish and most soft cheeses. There's nothing left to keep me from the cream cheese filled chocolate muffin I just ate. We're only human.

I am ridiculously hungry while pregnant. I'm not even standing on the scales anymore--too discouraging. The good news for me is I know that I can lose it post partum (as long as I don't get that dreaded post partum hypothyroid condition--my new phobia)

This thread made me laugh. Although I'm no longer pregnant (DS was born June 5th) I clearly remember my hunger and cravings! So does DH! I was the Happy Meal QUEEN, and as some of you may remember, I once had two in a row- went from one drivethru to the next!!
Take heart- it is temporary. Now that stuff is really not tempting to me, and at 4.5 months I've lost all but 4 lbs! Although because I'm breastfeeding, I do still eat more than I should, the junk food cravings are gone and the weight did come off! Hang in there and have fun indulging! Lisa ![]() |
