We're the Problem!?!?!

Rush Limbaugh thinks those of us who exercise run the health care system into the ground? Say it isn't so. And he always seems so sane

Well, I can’ t even listen to it because Rush Limbaugh might be the cause of me having a heart attack since I get so angry at his stupidity. And, for his information, I DID twist my ankle yesterday, but because DH and I have to pay for our own insurance now and it costs us $600 a month and sucks (DH calls it the “Walk-it-Off Policy“), I didn’t go to a doctor.

And Rush, with his prescription drug dependency, has the nerve to throw stones at people who are active??? I guess people who get their scripts the legal way are to blame, too.

i don't even know what to say. i have been less sick since i started workout out regularly and watching my lifestyle habits then i have ever been in my life. nobody is paying for my health care cost but many are paying for my relatives on medicaid for their obesity and bad health related diseases for not taking care of themselves not to mention the cost of their meds. but hey i am to blame i guess. just made the whole party look bad.

Amazing, absolutely amazing. Let's see - I do most of the sports he outlined and have been to the ER once on a sports related injury (I had a kettlebell tip and badly bruise my finger). Oh, I've had my share of mishaps, but I do know when it's serious and when it's not.

i've always wondered who his base is...he has a huge following and makes in excess of $200 million because of his success. he once had a caller who was self-employed and was saying he couldn't afford health insurance and was in favor of a govt program. limbaugh asked the guy if he had a cell phone, he did, and told him he could sell it because it wasn't a necessity and he could well afford healthcare if he cut back. i would think it's a necessity for a business owner to have a cell phone these days when business is so competitive. i just wondered why this guy even listened to his show?? i think it's hard for someone with so much wealth to empathize with the struggles of everyday americans. i've only listened to him a few times, so i really can't judge the guy, but he seemed so unkind. keith olberman is another one i don't get. he seems like such an angry, angry man.

Wow, this kind of crap really blows my mind. As Idy_Solana said, I have been way less sick since I've been eating clean and working out like I do. I can't remember the last time I was at the doctors.

What an ass!

Lkl, my dad listens to him. I can't figure it out because he is otherwise a very smart, compassionate man with a good deal of common sense and experience.

My theory: There's a lot of anger towards liberals these days ~ after all, there are some liberal politicians who are just as bad as the conservative ones when it comes to being hypocrites and are all too happy to screw over the people who put them into office ~ so that might be why Rush continues to enjoy such popularity. A Democratic Congress with a Democratic Administration makes for anxious Republicans. :D

I know for a fact my dad isn't crazy, but his hatred (politically) for Nancy Pelosi and any politician he feels has a socialist agenda no doubt pushes him in Rush's direction.

I agree with you about Rush and Olberman. Sean Hannity gets on my nerves too. Questioning the government is good. The obvious bias and constant ridicule gets old though.

Who listens to anything this windbag says? He's so full of hate and greed it's unfortunate that he has such a public outlet where he can spew his venom onto people who can't think for themselves. I think a lot of what he says is because he's a big attention hog but the problem is the rabid followers who take every lie he vomits as gospel.

Wow!!

What an idiot. I'm speechless. It's sage advice like this that has made us the fattest country around.

Someone hand Rush another Krispy Kreme.

Rush Limbaugh?
Yeah, I'm sure the health care costs of fit people who exercise are less than what his costs will be to deal with his impending cardiovascular problems or diabetes.

I don't know who is more of an idiot: Limbaugh, or those who listen to him and believe him.

I don't understand how people can listen to Limbaugh. I'm not a fan of extremism in either direction. I have friends and colleagues who think Limbaugh is absolutely right (pun intended) and find him amusing. I don't get it. His truly is a bully pulpit.

I've always said I'd rather be in the hospital from breaking my leg while active than be in long term care because I'm fat, inactive and suffering from a host of health problems related to poor lifestyle choices. My broken leg was a short term "health problem," but the other problems are chronic that require a LOT more money to treat than my broken leg.

Well said! :)

all I can say is wow....how can a person be so stupid? And to think there are still people who follow him? Amazing....

LOL i was just talking to dh about this. i told him a broken leg heals in what a month but that heart disease stuff hey now that hangs on for a while and repeat visits to drs and repeat refills of meds! yeah my one month injury is really breaking the bank folks!!! ask my mother in law how many pills she take and how many drs visits she has to make on our tax dollar(medicaid) for the past few YEARS!!

makes a simple injury seem like nothing to me. that will heal in no time.actually i think i am less likely to break a bone b/c of my weight training strengthens bones as opposed to my ill mother in law who has never exercised other then a few walks in her life so she doesn't have the same strength and disease prevention that we have here.

wanted to add this doesn't apply to those who have a genetic or medical reason why things happen. i coming more from the you are capable of preventing it so why don't you. and this clown just gave half the country another excuse not to do something better for themselves.
