Smoothie Question???

I don't have a blender and I was wondering if there are some other ways to "blend" for a smoothie? I have a food processor and also a hand held emursion blender. Would either of those work?

I used to use a hand held emursion blender until I got a nutribullet. Now the nutribullet is slowly dying and will just go back to the hand held one. I found the handheld would sometimes make bit of a mess if I wasn't careful, but it worked fine. However if you want to use kale/spinach type food, the hand held won't grind it up well at all.

I wonder if a hand mixer would work? Maybe for just liquid (and yogurt) and fresh fruit but not frozen fruit/ice cubes.

I'll just throw this out --- for less than $100 I bought a Ninja Professional from Bed/Bath/Beyond using their $20-off coupon. I use a cup of frozen fruit, a half to a cup of yogurt, and 2 cups of liquid (and protein powder). When we have spinach the Ninja does a nice job shredding/blending and I couldn't even taste it.
