no more cushion

Just out of curiousity, does anyone else "suffer" from this......... Since I have lost that 50 pounds, I have noticed that I have NO MORE cushion on my tail bone and it hurts! LOL! Plus, I suffer from the Goyer/Murphy curse (family genes). Everyone has FLAT butts! I am trying to add some curvage to it, for looks of course, and to hopefully get some cushioning for my poor tail bone!!!!!
I really am not complaining, per se, since I like the weight loss, but geez, it hurts to sit on any chair that isn't cushioned enough! And core work- some of those positions hurt!
Oh well, just wondering if anyone else has this issue LOL!:)

Yes, I have noticed that certain chairs hurt my hind quarters and certain core exercises bother it too. I've lost just under 50 lbs and the other change I've noticed is that I get cold a lot more frequently. When I was heavier, I was always hot. Now I'm always cold. I guess that extra layer of fat helped insulate me.

Now, don't think for a second I want to gain a single ounce back. I'll just put on an extra sweater and I'll buy a nice fluffy cushion for my skinny behind. Thin is definitely better. :)

Hmm. I have the opposite problem. My butt is huge! It hurts sitting for a long time because I get pain in my gluteus muscles so I have an orthopedic cushion that I use on all the chairs around my house and I have an orthopedic chair at work too. When I lay on my back to do some stretching exercises my back hurts often because my butt is in the middle and my back can't be really straight. lol I could go on and on...

Squats and lunges are great butt toners (and builders) but I think doing leg presses on a 14" step is the one exercise that can give you the butt of your dreams... :)

When I do sit-ups on the floor, I havta use a mini rug (like a kitchen rug) and fold it up in half, then put my yoga mat on top of that, then flod that in half!}( I know how you feel. I once got a big black and blue mark on my tailbone before i used the extra cushions because of it.

Maeghan- I have lost almost 70# and doing certain things I feel the lack of cushion!!! I actually bruised my lumbar spine and tailbone once doing Pilates (last time!!!).

I feel your pain (but there's still quite a bit of padding left for me to work on!:)P

I'm with you, Maeghan! I noticed it a lot since losing 45 pounds. Same with being cold a lot more than I ever was when I weighed more!

Oh, Amy, I am totally with you about the being cold thing!!! It takes nothing to make me cold. I actually carry a jacket in the car and take it in to restaurants all the time. At work, I have to make sure I have a jacket, too!!! My co-workers laugh at me because of it (I definitely didn't used to get cold at work)! One even told me, "You need to generate more body heat". I told him, "Been there, done that, didn't like the clothing size!!!!"

Glad to know that I am not the only one. Now I definately need a cushion for the computer chair since I sit here so much!
Thinking about it, I guess I do get cold easier. This winter should be fun! NOT!!
Oh well, just a good excuse to have to buy a new winter wardrobe! Oooooohhh Hunny................!

I totally understand, Meg. I'm okay now, but if I lost 5 lbs. I would have that tailbone pain too. I also come from a family of flat-bottomed folk, and, if I lose a few pounds, I lack that kind of cushioning. Meanwhile, I have more cushioning than I need in the front. x( I wish I could take my tummy cushioning and glue it to my butt. :p :+

I've always had this issue. Mom says it due to my "boney rear end." Moms...you gotta luv 'em :+

LOL I've lived without cushion my entire life. Even when I was 30 lbs heavier I couldn't gain it in my rear end. x(

YUP!!! My SO asked me..."does all the working out supposed make your butt rounder?"... and yes, I took that as a compliment, lol. I went straight to the mirror to check it out and wow, it WAS rounder... what a nice little surprise. I was focusing so much on my legs (watching my cellulite diminish) and my arms (trying to get some definition), I didn't even notice what was going on BACK THERE, LOL. I used to hate leg presses because they make me so winded but now I love them!
:D

As far as cushioning goes, when I first lost weight I noticed it in my knees. It was uncomfortable to lay on my side with my knees on top of each other because there was no more cushion, now I just lay with a pillow between my legs or with the blankets bunched up.

I suffered an injury to my tail bone years ago which has always come back to haunt me and now that I've lost weight it's made it even worse! ARGH!

Adina, I have the same issue with my knees! Well, I guess I better get going on those dang leg presses!
One thing that is cool, is now I have quite a lovely collar bone! I never could see it before LOL!!

I give great collar bone too, Meg! LOL Mine were never prominent before I lost weight (after pregnancy) either!!!

I still remember the day I saw my neck again!! Thankfully, I don't remember the day I stopped seeing it... or the 5 years of days I never saw it...

The cold thing has kind of stopped for me- it felt very strange for about the first year, but now I'm over it. ;) 4 years later...

I thought this reminded me of a song, but I was thinking of "Fat Bottom Girl!" Sounds like something you'd hear on XM channel 74 - Bluesview!

Yup, with you on that one, too!
I remember when I looked and saw my collar bones! I couldn't believe it! But, like Amy, I couldn't remember when I 'lost' them.
