DH wants us to go on holiday this year ......

as a family, only for a week, probably staying in a cottage in Southern Ireland. The thing is it will be the first time the 5 of us will have gone away.....EVER......on holiday :-wow. The thought of it is already sending my panic levels through the roof, should I go back on to Prozac now ???????

The thing is the children will be aged 6, 3 and 1/2, and 2 1/2....how on earth will we be able to cope with three young children ???????? Or should I say how will I cope ?????? And OMG, how will I survive without Cathe for a week ?

For those that have a young family, or had children very close together, how did you cope on family holidays ???????

Now try going to Disneyworld with an 18 mo old and a 3 yr old! Now THAT was crazy.. We were exhausted but still had tons of fun.

At least with a cottage you will have a semblance of 'home' for a week. This will allow you to maintain a routine and have a fridge for favorite foods, etc.

The biggest tip I can give is to not try to cram too many activities into one day and build in sufficient rest time. If they are on a napping schedule now.. try to keep that up when you are on vacation.

Oh yeah.. did I say relax??
