Strength Training/Power Yoga/Pilates

Hi Cathe (and Cathe-friends!)

I'm an enormous fan and particularly enjoy your weight training programs.

This summer, in part because of the hot weather, I've been drawn to more pilates-type strength work and power yoga. I note that in the CTX series you do some pilates-type plank/core work.

I'm wondering if you have ideas about integrating yoga/pilates into a more traditional weight training routine.

Yesterday I had the luxury of some extra time and did both sections of the Wedding Tape, then later in the evening I did some yoga-sculpt type work. I know I should rest from traditional weight training for a day, but I'm wondering about doing some light pilates/power yoga.

Any ideas about integrating the two practices would be appreciated!

Hi Jane! While I'm still in the learning process of all the different types of yoga available, my guess right now is that if the yoga is more sedative, then use it as a rest or stretch day. If it is more aggressive, then then depending on just how hard you are taxing your muscles, is the category it should fall into for a non-rest day.
