Hi,
I have heavy upper legs. I've been walking every other days and since a month do Steps 2-3 times a wk. I need to take some inches off my upper legs and firm. Do I really need to do Strenght Exercises for legs on top of doing Steps Videos? Thanks you are a really nice crew. Hélène Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada |

Hi :)
I can't say whether or not you HAVE to strength/weight train to slim down your upper thighs, but I can tell you from my own personal experience that as a woman who also had extremely heavy upper legs, complete with so much cellulite I could have opened a cottage cheese shop, that it wasn't until I added weight training that my legs took shape and really began to slim down. I lost some inches with just step, but nothing compared to the results from a combination of the two. Weight training not only helped me lose fat from my thighs, but also gave them definition. Just my .02 :) Donna |

Hi Helene! I think variety is a good thing for your legs. Since walking and stepping are cardiovasular activities I would like to suggest some weight training to use your leg muscles differently. In addition to your walking, try doing only 2 step workouts per week and replace that third step class with a weight workout for the legs(or a total body weight workout). Good Luck!

Thanks,
I will add some training for the legs in my rotation and hopefully will see the results by the summer. |
