slow and heavy workouts

I have all the Pure Strengh tapes. Would it be necessary for me to have the slow and heavy workouts for more of a challenge? Or should I try using heavier weights with the PS videos? Not sure if they are similar workouts.

Not Cathe, just my two cents. I LOVE PS. That is my favorite series. I usually do that one for 8 weeks and then follow it up with a 3 week S&H rotation. To me, if PS bakes the cake and frosts it, then S&H is like the iced roses, candles, and pretty plate it goes on. S&H gives the muscles a nice finishing touch up to what PS started. The count is much slower so you are able to go heavier. Cathe also puts you at a 10 degree tilt to eliminate any momentum. I know that once I've completed 8 biceps curls with S&H, I really have worked my muscle to failure because there was no momentum, no lower back involved. It was 100% bicep usage (woo hoo!) I really like this series. Plus, once you've done S&H, it makes Cathe's other weight tapes FLY BY! Have fun!
